only 2 launch games have 4 player modes
9/20/2006 5:35:35 PM
again, MOST gamers dont play w/ wives and their kids. they play with their friends. MOST people will just need to take their wiimotes for a trip.
9/20/2006 8:41:58 PM
why the fuck is everyone so pissed about 60 for the wii controller. the 360's wireless controller is 50.
9/20/2006 8:59:11 PM
^^what about roommates, significant others, and sibblings? i wouldn't think any of these pairs would have multiple consoles.[Edited on September 20, 2006 at 8:59 PM. Reason : too slow]

Yeah, he's pulling statistics out of his ass.
9/20/2006 9:02:49 PM
MOST isnt a statistic.
9/20/2006 9:03:28 PM
Most implies >51%.In any case, I seriously doubt you can make any valid statement concerning MOST of the gaming population.
9/20/2006 9:34:52 PM
no, most is a plurality
9/20/2006 9:35:49 PM
joshnumbers, why do you continue to post in this thread after I've clowned you? Is there anything I could do to perhaps convince you to kill yourself? I'll buy the drugs.

yes. you could kill yourself.[Edited on September 20, 2006 at 11:09 PM. Reason : freakshow]

there is a really hot rumor that Gamestop/EB stores will begin taking pre-order deposits on Friday September 22nd, and you will have the option to pay for the $50 minimum deposit any way you damn well pleasesign up for the mailing list on EBgames.com, that should keep you up to date on the reservations of the system itself

well the controller is the main feature of the wii.. so it's more expensivewhat is so hard to understand about that?
9/20/2006 11:54:15 PM
there is such a thing as price differentiation and it has been empirically proven that raising the price (to a certain limit) will actually increase demand for an object
9/20/2006 11:56:02 PM
even assuming that you add $60, this is still on of the cheapest console launches ever once you consider inflation.
9/21/2006 12:04:06 AM
Heh, someone must've been reading their issue of Game Informer..
9/21/2006 12:06:33 AM
game what?
9/21/2006 12:06:57 AM
$60 remote with built in sensors and shit.similar xbox controller would be $79
9/21/2006 12:15:40 AM
9/21/2006 12:25:16 AM
you can compare that 60 dollar remote to xbox's 50 if you like, but you can get both wired and third party controllers for much cheaper. they arent as nice, but you can still play. ill be interested to see if they make and how much 3rd party nintendo controllers will be.
9/21/2006 9:33:07 AM
the point is pretty much moot.yeah the controller might be worth $60.but we were promised a uber-affordable console. The Nintendo Wii is not it.I would rather they bundle an extra controller than that POS game they're forcing down our throats. It is not FREE, cuz Japan doesn't get it bundled and their price is ~$40 less. Not to mention they get Opera for free, and we probably won't.
9/21/2006 10:47:19 AM
Well I was gonna get a Wii, but I think I'll hold off for another 3-4 years or so.

I figured out that you're an idiot. But I already knew that.
9/21/2006 11:33:49 AM
then you didnt figure that out....durr
9/21/2006 11:34:51 AM
You confirm it with every post you make.
9/21/2006 11:35:59 AM
dont you mean, you figure it with each new post?
9/21/2006 11:36:50 AM
9/21/2006 1:24:24 PM
Holy shit. This is kinda scary. I priced out all the things I wanted to get on launch day and it came up to $574.66.
9/21/2006 6:45:27 PM
what all did you price?
9/21/2006 7:54:49 PM
Extra Controller with nunchuck. 2 classic controllers (might not get those if wavebirds work) and 4 games. Doesn't seem like $600 worth of stuff.
9/21/2006 8:06:37 PM
wave birds prolly wont work..but normal game cube controllers work
9/21/2006 8:15:25 PM
it looks from the placement that they wont work, or maybe you could get 1 or 2 in. worst case you might be able to use extension cables to run to the wavebird controller plug, naw mean?
9/21/2006 8:19:05 PM
the idea of a wii sounds cool, but not at launchnothing is really grabbing me as a system seller, other than "a new way to play games"people pay for a prettier product, it shows that its money well spentthats like buying a 2006 honda, then buying a 2004 honda cause it handles differentlymay be a horrible analogy, but thats all I got
9/21/2006 8:20:42 PM
to be honest, nothing is really sellin me at launch except for zelda. i'm still debating with myself whether thats worth it.
9/21/2006 8:29:17 PM
wavebirds will work
9/21/2006 8:32:13 PM
I guess that confirms it then. Wavebirds won't work.
9/21/2006 8:57:01 PM
when mario party comes out, ill consider it.

Zelda and Wario Ware are good enough for me. Next year we should get Metroid, Super Mario Galaxy, and Super Smash Bros. It'll be great to see what they can do with Mario Party on the Wii too.I expect Wavebirds to work. IIRC, even the DK Bongo Drums will work on the Wii.
9/21/2006 11:18:38 PM
so the wii has 2 mem slots for the cubewhat about mem slots for 64?why not let it all just be on the SD cards? probably bc they are still selling cube mem cards.[Edited on September 23, 2006 at 9:05 PM. Reason : 243]
