Even if we did goto the Gator Bowl lets not kid ourselves.. we'd get ROLLED by Louisville. I'd rather not goto a game then get absolutely and utterly humiliated at one.

Boise?Hell, I'd give my left leg to go to Boise. We aren't going anywhere

got back from Boston earlier this afternoon... man that was painful to watch.although once again, State fans show just how well we travel. Their fans were never loud at all, it was depressing. Their student section got loud a few times during the game, but they made most of their noise while singing to random songs during timeouts. Although they did pull off an acapella "Build Me Up, Buttercup" when they stopped playing the music, which was about the only entertaining part of the second half.plus if you want to hear about strict tailgating, it's insane over there...
11/13/2005 9:04:20 PM
tell us of strict tailgaiting
11/13/2005 9:36:28 PM
Tailgating was stupid....It was ridiculously easy to sneak in whatever the hell you wanted though. Pretty much everyone around where I was sitting had some sort of liquer with them. The whole not leaving at halftime is super gay and they had the longest lines for the bathrooms. There was a line of like 50 guys waiting to use the restroom(everywhere) while the girls bathroom didnt have any. Didnt quite add up......And yes it was really pathetic to watch in person. At least you people watching it on TV could change the channel when it got ugly.
11/13/2005 9:41:21 PM
so, you can only tailgate if you are a booster. public tailgating is not allowed. So it basically costs $2k minimum/year for the privaledge to tailgate. You MUST begin packing up 30 minutes prior to gametime, which I think is a pretty good rule. But having cops enforce it would be annoying.Tailgating after the State game was prohibited because it was a night game. You couldn't so much as drink a beer or pull out a bag of chips and wait for the cars to start piling out. That seems very annoying, especially for an on-campus stadium where it must take hours to get out of there. But from what the BC alums were telling us, the surrounding suburbs hate having BC in the middle of their neighborhoods and put a lot of pressure on them to keep things quiet.

just got back. there stands at the stadium are all aluminum, which can make a lot of noise. there students seemed loud b/c i was on the second row right across the field from them, but the stadium wasn't as loud as C-F, and we got the WOLF...PACK! and RED...WHITE! chants going a good many times. i didn't like how the two endzone upper decks were in the dark. they had like one weak little light at the top of each section lighting up the stands. the lines for the bathroom during halftime are long, luckily i went around 3 minutes before halftime. a smoke sausage in a bun with peppers and onions cost $6. it was pretty good, but not really worth $6, of course all concessions overcharge. they don't have any real entrances from the locker rooms. they have to pull curtains back and have security/event staff hold everyone back while the players/referees enter through make shift entrances. the loudest the crowd got was once when the Pack were trying to come back, and when they cheered when this guy kicked a field goal to win a 2006 Pontiac Torrent. they had an advertisement for something about making Boston a better place, and i leaned over to my roommate, who's from NY about 30 seconds from the Connecticut border, and said, "the way they can make Boston better is by teaching the proper pronunciation of the word car instead of KAH!" we got to hang out in Cambridge, which has a lot of hippie looking people. Harvard was just one big tourist show with people taking pictures all over the place. the good thing was that a lady that was a grad student there who's sister went to NC State, and who was a fellow Wolfpacker by heart, started up a conversation with us. just goes to show you that there are Wolfpackers everywhere. Boston's roads looked like a traffic enigineer drew it up and then their 3 year old got a hold of it and started drawing on it. lanes merge out of nowhere, sometimes you just have to guess whether you are in your lane or not b/c some of the roads didn't have lines. i wish Boston's downtown was more like NYC with a grid layout, which in my opion is much easier to navigate. sorry for it being so long.

I must say that game threads always bring the funny, especially when we are losing. Many good ones in here.[Edited on November 14, 2005 at 1:51 AM. Reason : No good ones by Hedgeapple, though]
11/14/2005 1:33:15 AM
hell yea, shits more fun when we lose
11/14/2005 1:35:45 AM
yes, Boston's traffic patterns make no sense, but its still a great town. The fact that Paul Revere's house is in the middle of Little Italy is crazy to me.
11/14/2005 1:44:49 AM
it must have been hard for them to drive the cars with those traffic patterns back in the 1600's when the roads were made[/sarcasm]but seriously, thats why its so fucked up i would have to guess
11/14/2005 3:01:51 AM
its on espn 2 and i have no idea why im watching this. i think i just wanna get really pissed or something
11/14/2005 3:50:29 AM
this ass whooping along with the Clemson asswhooping, did not bother me really. we got served by solid teams.i still can't get over the loss to Carolina. i won't be in town for the Maryland game--they need to stop scheduling Thanksgiving during homegames.BC women are fucking smoking hot
11/14/2005 5:52:44 PM
yeah but South Boston women are ugly.
11/14/2005 7:00:07 PM
^^yeah, there were hot girls all over the place...I have a whole new understanding of fried foods, either that or it's all the walking around Boston. But there are great asses all over the place.
11/14/2005 7:05:46 PM
Did anyone else read that shit on gopack.com...the two or die article?End of the article says that the field at BC was wet as hell, because the grounds crew was watering it a few hours before the game. WHO THE FUCK WATERS SYNTHETIC TURF? I mean its no excuse for that bad of a loss, but it really gives you something to think about...especially since the players didnt know what the hell was going on.
11/15/2005 1:06:17 AM
My girlfriend and I went to the game and I took some photos. There were some nice Wolfpackers around and I got shots of them. There are some game shots I took with my zoom lens but they're kind of dark and have some noise. Plus I was sitting in the endzone so I didn't have the best vantage point. I took them at 3200 iso so bear with me. I have the B Clark TD sequence and I love his pose in the endzone. Other than that, I dont have many front shots... we were not on my side of the endzone very often. My site is messed up right now so I wont post a link to it but you smarties can figure it out anyway I'm sure. My pictures aren't the best but I'd appreciate it if people wouldnt use them without my permission. Thanks [Edited on November 15, 2005 at 9:38 AM. Reason : ]

Anyone got pictures of the Boston College staff watering the field 2 hours before kickoff??
11/15/2005 11:48:33 AM
11/15/2005 12:29:13 PM
I heard they mix Downy in with the water to make the turf soft when they water it. I imagine it probably makes it fairly greasy though.
11/15/2005 12:40:15 PM
11/15/2005 12:52:01 PM
could be a hybrid 50%/50% real/fake
11/15/2005 12:53:56 PM
Field turf isn't hybrid, it's just a different kind of artificial turf.
11/15/2005 1:03:35 PM
just seems a little sketchy to me.... I've never seen artificial turf watered....
11/15/2005 1:22:08 PM
Screw that, its very sketchy. Theres no reason for it to be watered.
11/16/2005 3:43:51 PM
you do realize that BC had to play on the same turf too right? its not like it was only our part of the field
11/16/2005 3:48:35 PM
whoever said boston was a good town is fucking nuts.the place sucks for exactly the reason someone posted above. The traffic sucks (on account of the shitty drivers, the shitty roads, shitty parking, and the even shittier union road workers who can't figure out how to fix a fucking pothole without stopping a whole road's worth of traffic during rush hour), the people unfriendly, the weather horrible, the bars unwelcoming, the smell unbearable.Boston can fuckoff for all I care. I was so hyped to go up there for the first time and was so disappointed when I got there that I can't stop talking about it.
11/16/2005 3:52:18 PM
yes, but they were prepared. I didn't see a single BC player slip....
11/16/2005 4:04:15 PM
^^^ Thats true. But as stated in the article, it said they think it was to negate our overall team speed advantage.[Edited on November 16, 2005 at 4:05 PM. Reason : ]
11/16/2005 4:05:15 PM
Its fucking horse shit. For one, there is no way to simulate practicing on wet artificial turf unless your facilities allow it...and if i'm not mistaken...we dont have that capability. They can go practice on that field wet whenever they want to. Some might try to argue "well ND did the same type thing for the USC game", but you can grow your grass high to practice, and USC knew it was comming weeks ahead of time. I dont like it, and I know its really not an excuse, but I think it easily helped them 10 points.
11/16/2005 4:16:23 PM
give it a rest. if anything, it would give them an advantage early, not late in the game...if you can't adjust to something by the second half, then you've got bigger problems than a wet field...
11/16/2005 4:19:47 PM
one word...shoes. I'm pretty sure they didnt come prepared with different spikes.we dont adjust in general anyway, so it was a bigger disadvantage in the first half for us since thats the only half we like to score in. [Edited on November 16, 2005 at 4:26 PM. Reason : ]
11/16/2005 4:24:55 PM
^^ that door swings both ways. They'll get to come to C-F one day (next season?) and get to try playing power football on the short grass[Edited on November 16, 2005 at 5:46 PM. Reason : ^]
11/16/2005 5:45:42 PM
^^ I'm pretty sure they do come prepared with different spikes... and if they don't, then they've got big time preparation problems. Changing spikes is TRIVIAL, why the fuck wouldn't they be prepared to switch out spikes?
11/16/2005 6:20:45 PM
as stupid as this team and their coaching staff is, why are you even denying the posibility?
