i am in cary and i, too, hear thunder
8/19/2012 10:43:35 AM
i wanted to go to the dog park today. : /
8/19/2012 11:26:22 AM
well you still can- just wear knock around clothes (which I would always wear there anyway). I'm sure your dog will have a blast in the rain and mud
8/19/2012 11:35:02 AM

9/2/2012 9:33:28 PM
I just drove through that storm on 40...it was pretty bad, everybody with their blinkers on going all different speeds...no fun
9/2/2012 9:59:09 PM
I could not believe at the bitching on WRAL earlier. I had just left eating dinner in downtown Hillsborough, and got home to find a tornado warning. I turned on WRAL to see what was going, and they were constantly apologizing for having interrupted Big Brother. People were blowing up the FB page crying that they could not catch the nomination at the end. Fucking babies.
9/2/2012 10:58:13 PM
Holy shit. That may have been the longest continuous thunder I've ever heard.Lasted like 20 seconds.
9/2/2012 11:37:30 PM
I personally don't give a fuck about big brother but it's annoying as hell when the station cuts into some prime time programming for like 10 minutes to blather on about a thunderstorm or some shit. I don't know why they can't pop in for 30 secs, give the quick story and then point the viewer to another source for more info if they are interested (radio, Internet, news channel, etc), scroll a ticker on the bottom and call it good.[Edited on September 2, 2012 at 11:53 PM. Reason : ,]
9/2/2012 11:52:17 PM
^Usually I can agree with that to some extent, but WRAL just shifted BB over to 5.2, which you can pick up with a damn pair of rabbit ears. So it was still available, but it might take some fat fuck an extra minute or two to tune to it.
9/3/2012 8:37:48 AM
^ Two major things wrong with what you said.Rabbit ears don't work anymore. Just a heads up on that. Fat folks know how to work their remote so fucking well it would take a fraction of a second to do. So quit hating.
9/3/2012 9:19:55 AM
Haha. The weather man said this morning that there was a 30 percent chance of rain. Uh, hello. . .look out the window!
9/3/2012 9:38:34 AM
9/3/2012 9:52:58 AM
Rabbit ears *mostly* no longer work. Most stations are no longer broadcast in analogue, but there are still some low power stations that haven't made the conversion to digital. I think we've got another couple of years before the conversion is complete. They keep delaying the total switchover for some reason. But yeah, you really can't get much of anything on rabbit ears anymore. Maybe some bum fuck local weird channels.
9/3/2012 9:59:59 AM
Antennas don't care if they're receiving an analog or digital signal... the receiver does. If you live a little nearer to the transmitter site, you'll get every channel they have to offer. Since Raleigh's channels are all mostly located in Garner, you'll see everything.
9/3/2012 10:03:05 AM
w0rd. i don't get crap out here in the boonies (9 miles outside of Greenville) be it analogue or digital
9/3/2012 10:05:50 AM

heard there is a tornado warning coming soon
9/18/2012 9:31:12 AM
9/18/2012 9:48:29 AM
^^ tornado watchwatches indicated that conditions are favorable, while warnings indicate that severe weather is imminent.[Edited on September 18, 2012 at 9:57 AM. Reason : common mistake ]
9/18/2012 9:57:08 AM
I thought warning meant one had actually been spotted.
9/18/2012 9:59:07 AM
bend over off kaP..uh EVERYWHERE
9/18/2012 10:11:48 AM
^^ a warning can be issued on ground truth (someone actually saw the thing) or based on radar indications of rotation. either way, it's a more serious designation than a watch.
9/18/2012 10:26:44 AM
