Random Question from a new wii owner:

Why is the availabilty for games sketchy on the wii?

First, I would like to get rockband. The sets are 89.99 on amazon for both xbox and playstation, and sold out on wii.

Also, as far as mario kart wii goes, the price jumped to $68.99 as I put the thing in my cart.

Whats the deal....is nintendo continuing with the scarcity tactic, has rock band wii been discontinued for some reason?

mario kart wii prob just sold out due to high demand on christmas.

rock band - that's up to rockstar to fix that. it should come back in a week or two i imagine.

Bestbuy has marikart for $49 and the new mario for $39 so I will probably head over there after work.

If you have a PS3 or a 360 (or plan on getting one), don't buy Rock Band or Guitar/Band Hero on the Wii. When you get it on the Wii you're stuck buying Track Packs instead of just downloading new songs each week.

I thought this thread would get bumped, nintendo can really pump out the games when they want to, it makes me wonder why blizzard (who is kind of like the pc version of nintendo to me) still takes five years to make one game

the cool thing is nintendo must have some really awesome stuff planned for later in the year if they are willing to come out with so many big time games already, they said this summit or whatever was for games first half of 2010 and e3 will be 2nd half so who knows, plus the official nintendo magazine said they were going to do a huge reveal next issue

yeah that kinda sucks. but then again Nintendo spends 5-6 years developing new engines for the classic series games, so u had to know this one would be on the same engine as Galaxy I

^^Looks fucking awesome. Glad to see that they re-did the end scene from Super Metroid in 3D. Perhaps Other M takes place after Super Metroid but before Fusion?

btw I really hope they change the name of the game. Other M just sounds silly.

monster hunter sounds like a must buy for any hardcore wii owner, the game should do well

I wish they would come out with a new ogre battle for wii (even if they didn't do anything really new I wouldn't care, I loved playing that game so much) but i guess the series is dead for some reason

just got a Wii last week. here's what I want as far as games, please tell me/recommend what exact titles I should get:

1st want is a shooter, like Ghost Recon, Call of Duty, etc. with online multiplayer

2nd want is a soccer game, other than Fifa from EA which I hear is crap on the Wii. Pro Sports Evolution or something is supposed to be okay...anyone played it?

I finally got around to playing through Deadly Creatures, it's a fun game but too short. It's pretty challenging and there is quite a bit of web-slinging you do as the tarantula. The scorpion is kinda badass too. You stab rats in the eye with your stinger and crap, it's a lot more graphic then I expected. It only took me about 8 hrs to play through though, and that was exploring every nook and cranny.

^ just my opinion after having played both. world cup is kind of a mix between FIFA 10's real mode and the footii party mode, if you've ever played that. I just think it's more fun overall. Passing and shooting feels a little different, maybe less difficult, but it works well for Wii. Also the dream team mode on world cup is fun and depending on your difficulty setting they can actually be challenging matches if you are going for the 'gold' objectives.

I have both FIFA and that and on the wii it blows FIFA out of the water.

It takes a minute to get used to the pointer but it makes for a better experience overall.

i think square purchased the company that makes the ogre series(ogre battle, tactics ogre) a few years back. they were the only ones that could compete with final fantasy tactics. im not sure if we will ever see another ogre battle game

they did release person of lordly caliber on virtual console not that long ago though

DO NOT BUY FIFA 2010. i owned it for a week and sold it. 2009 is MUCH better.

i'd recommend Resident Evil 4 and Medal of Honor Heroes 2 (though RE4 isn't multiplayer)

Well, only could find cables for 20 bucks in my local store. they definitely make a difference. mario kart looks sharp now.

Also purchased PES 2010. So far i'm loving the control scheme with the pointer. once i get it down it should be great. anyone ever played it online?
