Just got a new surround sound system hooked up. Looking forward to the house vibrating every time a dragon roars.
3/27/2019 9:40:01 AM
Recently rewatched Season 6 and 7....Season 7 was so damn good.
3/27/2019 9:59:53 AM
I too have been re-watching seasons, scattered around in no particular order. Just got done with watching the end of season 4. I forgot how bad ass the finale of Season 4 is- "The Children"Season 4 is steeeeeee-RONG.
3/27/2019 5:31:42 PM
we rewatched the entire series over thanksgiving and christmas. We thought it would have lasted us until around this time but we started staying up later and watching more episodes
3/28/2019 8:21:57 AM
^ I did the same in January. How strong were those first 3 seasons!
3/29/2019 7:17:48 AM
^^Haha, yeah I also rewatched the series recently - finished about a month ago. Been itching a bit, to rewatch S7 before the 8th starts.
3/29/2019 9:00:28 AM
One week away!
4/7/2019 10:52:49 AM
^^i was really hesitant to rewatch because of how much of a slog i felt the middle seasons were during the initial release but that wasn't the case this time around. Binging is the best
4/8/2019 8:19:36 AM
Am I the only one that hopes Syrio Forel shows up somehow in this last season?
4/8/2019 5:40:17 PM
^I have been hoping that he was Jaqen H'ghar the whole time.
4/8/2019 6:13:41 PM
I want some good ass spoilers like we had for last season but can't find any. I hate not knowing.
4/8/2019 6:25:43 PM
The faceless man is Syriothere ya go
4/9/2019 11:57:58 PM
^That's pretty much exactly what I just posted.
4/10/2019 8:58:03 AM
Bran is my least favorite story line. I just wonder how it will get tied up.
4/10/2019 2:38:54 PM
I think his story line is interesting but he is pretty annoying now as the emo three eyed raven.
4/10/2019 4:10:14 PM
All the stark kids are basically teenagers so they're all going to be annoying in typical teenager ways. They each have story related reasons to be annoying, but would probably just naturally be so even without those reasons.
4/10/2019 4:28:51 PM
I don't think Arya is really too annoying, if anything I'm looking forward to a season full of revenge on her side.Sansa on the other side (and probably more Sophie Turner) is pretty much a block of wood with red hair.
4/10/2019 5:34:52 PM
Like 80% of America right now, I'm rewatching the series, and I must say, some of the acting in season 1 hasn't aged well. I hope GRRM also wraps up Gendry's story in a satisfying manner. I've always pulled for him.
4/10/2019 8:17:10 PM
Let's be honest, GRRM is never finishing another book
4/11/2019 7:05:58 AM
I rewatched some of it. Watched the 1st couple of episodes of season 1 and then skipped to Hardhome and watched the rest. I got the wife to watch enough (with me filling in the holes) that she can watch Season 8 with me and not be lost.
4/11/2019 8:58:49 AM
In December and January I rewatched seasons 1-7. This week, just to have it fresh on my mind for Sunday, I am rewatching season 7.
4/11/2019 3:24:01 PM
Lol I have a buddy that finished too soon, but just a few weeks ago, and he started season 7 again the other day.I started mine late February and still have finale of 6 and all of 7,gonna be a cram this weekend!
4/11/2019 3:40:17 PM
GRRM has it finished, wants to be dead before releasing is what i hear
4/11/2019 7:58:57 PM
So anybody watch this show??Arya Jon reunion had it dusty
4/14/2019 9:58:08 PM
The Umber kid death scene was awesome
4/14/2019 10:26:04 PM
I thought they were all longer episodes
4/14/2019 11:15:33 PM
So I get that in the book (from what I’ve heard) and the general perception the show’s trying to give off is that Sansa is smart and an underestimated force...but thinking back on this show I can only come up with one instance of her outsmarting anyone (figuring out Baelish last season). Other than that all I can remember is that she’s been a complete pawn, passed around, taken advantage of, saved in the kick of time, and been pretty fucking stupid for a lot of it[Edited on April 14, 2019 at 11:34 PM. She knew ramsey would try some shit at the bastards and would never give up rickonShe saved the day at the bastards with the Vale She knew the lords would turn on Jon if he bent the knee She knew Cersei would never send her army northShe's been right like every time since she escaped from Ramsay hasn't she?
4/15/2019 12:09:01 AM
She learned from Peter who up until she killed him was the best mastermind and player of the game of thrones. She also learned a little from Tyrion. Slow episode not sure what additional info we got we didnt know end of last season. Jon knows he’s the true queen, he rode a dragon setting up who is tru queen/king. need to rewatch was interrupted by a crying baby a few times.
4/15/2019 7:22:30 AM
I saw a lot of posts/tweets from people that were disappointed with this episode.I thought it was pretty good, sets the table for the coming war. Most of these characters haven't been in the same place in several seasons so while we know facts about them as the viewer the characters do not. Could have done without the Jon/Dany Dragon date the dialogue was cheesy at the waterfall. The Umber boy scene with Tormund, Beric, and Eddison was great. Was the Symbol a play of the Targaryen crest?
4/15/2019 8:30:48 AM
It was a callback. It was the symbol for the cold open of the first episode that was in the snow beyond the wall. I dont see it as the targaryen symbol, too much of a complete spiral.
4/15/2019 8:36:15 AM
4/15/2019 8:59:37 AM
The dragon riding scene was a little silly. I thought it was kind of funny when John and Dany were about to get it on though and he looked over and saw the dragons just staring at him haha.Other than that I have no problems with the episode. Aside from it being shorter than an hour.
4/15/2019 9:44:57 AM
Thought I read the first 2 episodes were only the normal hour and then the rest will be 70-80 minutes?Feel like the hype is so high for this show and the expectations are so lofty that it's going to be damn near impossible for this season to achieve them.
4/15/2019 9:55:31 AM
4/15/2019 9:59:13 AM
Can't tell if Elwood is agreeing with me, arguing with me, or making an unrelated post
4/15/2019 9:59:39 AM
This episode was filler so people couldn't get HBO for a free 7-day trial, then pay for just a month. 6 episodes forces customers to subscribe for 2 months.
4/15/2019 10:14:36 AM
Was it really Sansa who discovered Peter's plotting? Seemed to me that he wore out his welcome killing her aunt and just generally being a creepy sleaze and trying to pit her against Arya, however my take was that it was primarily Arya that figured him out and got enough on him to convince Sansa to actually allow her to kill him. I don't think Sansa is some kind of mastermind. I see her emerging as a Stark woman that's tough like her mother was, rather than wanting to be a dainty trophy wife kind of queen. All of the things she's "seen coming" are obvious af. Maybe I'm just a Sansa hater because her book chapters were torture to read. When I saw that this was the only episode without a mature audience warning, I knew it was gonna just be a setup. I wasn't blown away by it, but it's still nice that the show is back. The rest of the season should be a pretty wild ride. Did anyone else think it was way too easy for Theon to get Yara back? They tied up that plotline with a quickness. Also, can't tell if Cercei is attracted to Euron or just flattering him so she can figure out a vicious way to murder him. ^^ i'm fine with them skipping things like not showing how yara and theon escaped, there is limited time left and they have to keep the plot moving and it's not a crucial detail.__we should make a pool for who we think will be alive and where will they be at the end of the series

the dany/jon flying scene felt like filler, but I guess it was to setup the reveal that she is his aunt and along with Sam's revelation about his brother/father made it more emotional reveal for his true parents.it also goes back to when jon/ygritte were having a love fling and she said let's never go back, and then they go back and everything goes to hell. It's like again jon is being tempted to step away and enjoy happiness or perform his duty and confront the coming battle.

everyone at my viewing party filled out one of these brackets https://www.sbnation.com/college-basketball/2019/3/19/18271108/game-of-thrones-release-date-bracket-alive-dead-characters

^^yea they had a bunch of Easter eggs for scenes from previous seasons. Hopefully they mostly keep that to this filler ep.

Speaking of which, Jon took the whole news that he's been banging his own aunt quite well. Dude didn't even skip a beat! Dany prob wouldn't care as much since she was raised as a Targaryan where that kind of thing wasn't looked down upon.
