tl;dr but does anyone know where brent schaeffer is going
5/4/2009 7:55:29 PM
sounds like people dont want wall to be in trouble but he should be
5/4/2009 8:00:44 PM
It doesn't sound like that at all
5/4/2009 8:20:34 PM
I would quit worrying about Wall. Word is his top 4 are UK, Duke, UF, and Miami. Which has been consistent with just about all literature that has come out recently. You can go with the 'I don't believe anything until he signs' hope if you want. In reality though it is time to get over him and worry more about Painter and the '10 class.[Edited on May 4, 2009 at 8:44 PM. Reason : df]

Double Post. Things are looking great for Painter btw. Henderson won't even post a story about him on PP per Painters request. I'm not to stressed about ol' sweat stains stealing him away on his visit to UMD. Can anyone with a Rivals premium account post what the story written today on Painter's visit is about? Word is learned all he needed to know and State on his visit and he is simply honoring his commitment for a visit to UMD. Any confirmation of this? If this shit is true about Wall, it only makes sense that he is planning to commit to NC State. THAT...is some NC State shit.
5/4/2009 8:54:54 PM
man sid will have worked some super magic if we get painter in for the 2009 classFront court depth worries disappear with him coming in.
5/4/2009 8:57:04 PM
Seriously. Our front line will be pretty stout with a Painter commitment.
5/4/2009 9:23:57 PM
What's the word on whether or not Painter will qualify for '09? Ideally, if we could get him for '09 that would be great. But if he had to wait til '10 I would rather see what happens with our current 2010 recruits like cothron, parker, barton, and leslie(i know he probably isn't coming here but still).[Edited on May 4, 2009 at 9:56 PM. ^ just curious, why would you rather wait for another '10 recruit over Painter. I don't know if you remember but at one point Painter was in the top 20 in the country at this point last year. coming in for the '10 class would give him an extra year of prep, an extra year of lifting weights, and he would be a year older than the kids coming out at the same time and still have 4 years of eligibility.I'm just asking what your reasoning is. Don't get me wrong, Luke is a beast. But he is ranked at the same point Painter (I believe Deshawn was #15 his junior year) was his junior year. There is just no telling if he will improve or stay the same for his senior year. Looks like #37 Eric Bledsoe is just about ready to commit to Kentucky or Memphis on Wednesday. Wonder how that will affect Wall's decision if UK already has a freshman pg [Edited on May 4, 2009 at 10:22 PM. Reason : df]
5/4/2009 10:14:22 PM
^ No chance Wall goes to UK if Bledsoe does.
5/4/2009 10:28:11 PM
uh, im pretty sure wall isnt concerned about people playing over him in college
5/4/2009 10:35:10 PM
^^^I guess I don't have a great reason behind it other than I assume that our 2010 targets are better than painter. But if you say that painter is just as good then I have no reason not to believe you. All I can go by is what the recruiting websites say and cothron and parker are both more highly rated if I'm not mistaken. But I wouldn't complain either way.
5/4/2009 11:10:56 PM
^ I thought the same thing about passing on Painter, but you have to consider what he brings to the table. Painter is an exceptionally gifted PF whom could backup Smith at the 5. Howell is much better suited to play the 4, since he likes to take guys off the dribble. Right now only Vandenberg would backup Smith at the 5, and that's not exactly comforting. True we're in the mix for some big targets for 2010, but such was true this year too (Wall, favors, Cousins). As good as Painter is, and at a position where we desperately need quality depth, there's no way you pass on him.
5/5/2009 5:47:32 AM
If Painter were to be a 2010 recruit I'd pass on him. Academic issues + him not being better than Cothron = passI'd most like to take the class we have for 09 and take 1 from Parker/Barton/Leslie and Cothron to go with Harrow]
5/5/2009 5:50:40 AM
if we dont take anymore this year we'd be able to take harrow +2 next year right?if that's the case we'd absolutely need a big like cothron. then we could hope for either parker or barton. if we took painter now i guess it would come down to barton or parker.
5/5/2009 7:57:54 AM
The thing to is if Painter does qualify for 2009, by 2010 that year of experience is only going to help us then too.
5/5/2009 8:36:57 AM
bird in the hand...
5/5/2009 8:40:17 AM
While we're speculating...If we managed to land Painter this year, which 2010 recruit do you think we'd be most likely to get? Which would be the most ideal for us to get?I know Barton is the #1 SG but would it be better to add SG depth(or run a 3 guard lineup) or round out our starting lineup with a SF like Parker? I think we would be just fine taking either one although I don't really know how much of a shot we have at Barton. We seem to have just gotten in the picture with him.
5/5/2009 9:12:31 AM
I doubt we land Barton. I'll take whichever of Leslie, Cothron, or Parker commits first. They will all contribute a lot to the program.
5/5/2009 9:29:27 AM
In 2010, we’re going to have some real talent and depth in the backcourt.PG: Harrow, JaviSG: Brown, MaysSF: CJ, Wood, JTWhile I’m sure we can find a spot for a talented wing, it’s pretty jammed as of now.In the front court, we’ll likely have Howell starting at PF and Smith at C with Painter backing up both, and JV in for spot minutes. Considering that big guys tend to get in more foul trouble, adding another body might be for the best. Personally, I’d rather have Cothron. I think he’d give us a big, tough inside presence to go with Howell’s versatile game and Smith’s inside scoring (and Painter’s length, should we land him). I’d definitely take Leslie in a heartbeat though.
5/5/2009 9:51:19 AM
Bottom line is that State must get more frontcourt depth. Smith is really the only option at the 5, and Horner will start @ the 4. Both are backed up by freshmen. Granted Howell will likely play a lot right away, but being that thin in the post makes guys like Painter, Leslie and Cothron the #1 priority. The good thing is that all of the talented recruits this year have a chance to earn valuable playing time. That experience should make them that much better in 2010, which in turn could lead people to predict a breakout season. Such positive momentum should go a long way towards convincing these 5* recruits to run with the Pack

^ hehe trueA better way of saying it is that I think 2010 is the year Sid breaks out. This year State will finally have a playmaking guard (Brown), a sharpshooter (Wood), and overall depth in the backcourt. These will be offset however by the fact that (A) our most talented players (save T. Smith) will be freshmen, and (B) our frontcourt will be very thin (as the backcourt was the last two years).2010 however is a different story. The frontcourt will still be VERY deep, but it will also be experienced. Smith will still be here as a senior. JV and J. Davis will be much more likely to provide solid contributions off the bench (if called upon). Harrow will arrive, having in all likelihood climbed at least a few more slots in the recruiting rankings, thus giving State an all Georgia and all Indiana backcourt . Indeed, I think that baring a disaster akin to the 2007-2008 campaign, the Pack will be poised to make move in the ACC. Obviously there are no guarantees, especially when predicting success for specific recruits, but I'm cautiously optimistic. I've seen enough of this year's class (cept JV) to make me believe they'll pan out, if not overachieve.Let's just pray next season see the Pack take a step forward... as opposed to seeing Sid's last hurrah...[Edited on May 5, 2009 at 6:04 PM. Alright bigego, sure. It has nothing to do with a coaches recent poor perfomance. And it has everything to do with a conspiracy involving a man who, is arguably, the most powerful person in basketball.

Leslie wants the attention Wall is getting, and Cal is in WWW's favor right now. That why he decommited and why he'll probably end up at Kentucky

^Got word from one of my sources that somewhat contradict that article about a week and a half after that ran.Although Cal is not denying that WWW is partially responsible for recruits landing on his campus... just basically saying there that the NCAA doesn't need to investigate my program, he isn't a member of my staff ]
5/5/2009 10:52:37 PM
Like I said, I don't know anything about this dude, but it seems pretty obvious he had a role in landing Cal some top talent.
5/5/2009 10:53:12 PM
He's the most connected guy in sports, and has been involved with most of the major guys
5/5/2009 10:55:38 PM
i interpreted the article as WWW would be doing the same thing at kentucky he did at memphis.

talking out of your ass is exactly what you are doing. sit here and believe what you want bigego. I believe a good season by the Pack and job security for Lowe will play a larger role in the recruiting of C.J. than William Wesley. Calipari is a different story. I really have a hard time believing Leslie will come here regardless of Lowe's job security...when has a recruit that decomitted from a school ever ended up going to the school that they originally committed to? Probably Never.
