Lead riders of Stage 3 2009 Tour of California:Team Astana and Lance Armstrong (Yellow-Black Helmet):For the last two weeks I've been shooting sports for the first time. A lot of fun! For the Tour you really need something like the 1D Mk III b/c the cyclist go by crazy fast. I thought I was going to upgrade my 350d to a 450d but I might consider the 50d now.[Edited on February 17, 2009 at 9:29 PM. Reason : x]

Yeah the 50D will probably be my next purchase.
2/17/2009 9:32:15 PM
It'd be worth it over any of the rebel bodies, honestly.

hey, I got a lightroom trial, and am using it for the first time.I'm liking it a lot, I have no idea if i'm using it right. I'm editing the photos in lightroom then switching over to PS and editing them there some. Then I'm converting to 8bit so I can save as jpg. They save fine and look fine on my comp, but when I UL'd them to flickr, they all look really desaturated or something. looking at the files on my computer and on flickr side by side, the difference is drastic and insane. WHAT"S UP?I'm sure it's something n00bish with all the program switching and bits/channel shit.[Edited on February 17, 2009 at 10:25 PM. Reason : .]

color space. When you view pictures online, most browsers only view jpeg in the sRGB color space. Most of the time, your camera, photoshop and lightroom has a default setting of using the AdobeRGB color space. The sRGB is a really limited color gamut and really only necessary for publish for online, you still can print from it, but you end up throwing away a number of values from the AdobeRGB. AdobeRGB handles a lot more "usable" space, specially for print. My workflow usually exports jpeg's in AdobeRGB, but when I publish for web, I convert them to sRGB into a new folder, this way I have the original export for print work. I probably have 3-4 copies of the same image. Original, Edited (or corrected), Edited/Exported (manipulated for print or digitally altered for client), and web publish (resized, color space, logo). I also have another folder for unprocessed source files that didn't make the first or second edits as well as small web proofs for clients.

I figured it out, I wasn't "exporting" from lightroom or something, I was just sending everything over to photoshop and saving from there.^yeah[Edited on February 18, 2009 at 1:49 AM. Reason : .]

Out of these three, which one do you like best?
2/18/2009 1:03:42 PM
none of them
2/18/2009 1:04:56 PM
2/18/2009 1:07:38 PM
2/18/2009 1:09:32 PM
ok....then lemme ask like this...lightest, medium, or darkest.
2/18/2009 1:11:17 PM
for what?
2/18/2009 1:12:38 PM
what a bunch of dickheads, with the "none of them"bunch of fucking jackleg photographers talking down on someone asking an opinionthe darkest one looks the best to me
2/18/2009 1:14:03 PM
I was just curious what/why he was asking.
2/18/2009 1:15:23 PM
doesnt look like you said "none of them", my e-rage wasnt directed at you
2/18/2009 1:16:06 PM
I kinda like the dark one too....No reason...Sometimes I have trouble deciding which pic I like if I have alot that are similar. Thought I'd get some other opinions...[Edited on February 18, 2009 at 1:17 PM. Reason : ..]
2/18/2009 1:16:08 PM
to me it looked like an original, an "auto-fix" button, and a manual tweak
2/18/2009 1:21:26 PM
strictly shutter speed....im not smart enough to do all that other shit[Edited on February 18, 2009 at 1:22 PM. Reason : .]

Bunch of over opinionated pricks on this site. People who like to be assholes for the shit of it regardless of the sincerity of the poster asking for help.
2/18/2009 1:23:34 PM
Sometimes being honest means being an asshole. Some people aren't able or willing to accept that truth.
2/18/2009 1:25:06 PM
its not that technical. just get something like picasa and check it out. all my relatives use that to tweak their photos, and they're really really not "computer smart"^how are you being honest? you didnt even answer the question he asked. if you did, and then talked shit, you might have a leg to stand on. this just makes you a shitbag, really.]
2/18/2009 1:25:43 PM
If you like the sharpen feature, don't get picasa. When saving pictures, it doesn't save any work you've done with the sharpening tool. It's a known issue, and they have no plans to fix it Photoscape is what I switched to.If you've never used sharpen and don't know what I'm talking about, start off with picasa, for sure.
2/18/2009 1:26:58 PM
yea picasa is very noob friendly, its just like that commercial on tv where the 4 year old emails pics to her mom
2/18/2009 1:28:04 PM
You know the fucking difference between being helpful and being a complete twat and you three posters were being twats.
2/18/2009 1:28:06 PM
he asked which one we liked....i dont like any of themnothing dickish about that he wanted opinions so i gave him mine
2/18/2009 1:29:21 PM
I like the one with the cross and the chair.[Edited on February 18, 2009 at 1:30 PM. Reason : and]
2/18/2009 1:30:11 PM
nope, he gave 3 choices... a, b, and casked which you liked best.inventing a D is just shitty
2/18/2009 1:30:12 PM
2/18/2009 1:30:13 PM
Obviously he meant of the three, he didn't ask about composition or how the photo could be done differently, he wanted to know which one was "best" of those threeGOD DAMN CHITLUNS

For the chair pictures. Asthetically, I don't like any of them as well. Technically, I also don't like any of them, but the best exposed frame is the 1st one (minus the lens flare). The perspective if bland and the subject's position is boring as hell. I would have used the cross as the dominate feature of the picture since anything that poses as a symbol is graphically powerful to the eye and a cross is very powerful.^those bball pics are getting better, nice on 3 and 4.

I heard the 1st 24mm TS was very soft, I guess that's what they fixed on the 2nd one, but damn... those prices are crazy expensive for TS.
