the hell was that? why not blow the final whistle after the ensuing kick-off?

anyone who took the under at 2.5 is probably a little annoyed

because they only beat Honduras and Switzerland. because they struggled in their last game against Spain (the first big test for them in the cup). Because Suazo is good, but not strong enough against Brazil. and because Brazil handled them in qualifying and copa america. 3-1 brazil is my guess.[Edited on June 28, 2010 at 12:12 PM. Reason : ]

I thought they looked pretty dangerous against Spain to start, and then the red card put a damper on their attacking style.they'll get some chances that's for sure but with the suspensions in the back, I think Brazil will be too much
6/28/2010 12:12:53 PM
yeah, really, suazo is the only one who can make something happen. i just think brazil is too much. fabiano is playing too good, and this might be the game where robinho makes his presence felt. i don't like brazil, but the possibility of a brazil-argentina final makes my mouth water.

Interesting 5 foot jump by Lucio after getting fouled, I always jump like that when somebody tackles my legif he wasn't being such a fag about it, he might have had a good chance at getting the call
6/28/2010 2:59:36 PM
A few more cards and Kaka will have a full house. yuk yuk
6/28/2010 3:01:22 PM
and there's a Maicon dive without being touched...waiting for JT to flip his shit about it like he does Spain

Luis Fabiano is so dirty
6/28/2010 3:08:16 PM
Yup. Maybe you should spend less time waiving your hand up calling offsides and more time putting yourself between the ball and goal, stupid Chilean dude.[Edited on June 28, 2010 at 3:09 PM. Reason : .]

i'm afraid i gave Chile too much credit with my 3-1 prediction. This might get out of hand. Won't be long until Robinho tries to get in on the action. On a positive note, this game has been reffed well, so far. Comparatively, at least[Edited on June 28, 2010 at 3:12 PM. Reason : ]

Announcer: "Once again, leading the game without playing particularly well."What the hell game is he watching? Maybe I don't know soccer well enough to call Brazil's play in this game so far "not particularly well".
6/28/2010 3:12:11 PM
lucio is such a shit head
6/28/2010 3:12:37 PM
he's playing like a cunt

i love how the players who really get hurt are the ones who stop immediately on the ground, but the ones who fake hurt roll over like 12 times on the ground...how is it not obvious to refs who is injured and who isnt? when i got hurt in soccer the last thing i wanted to do was roll around on my injury

eh. Hoping for a Chilean upset was always a bit of wishful thinking. I wasn't exactly going out on a limb by picking one of the best teams in the world. Besides, Fabiano and Robinho have a history of picking Chile apart, and generally play well against American (North and South) sides. I should probably quit while I'm ahead
6/28/2010 4:01:03 PM
I was referring to this prognostication:

Picking against Brazil before the semi-finals is a sure way of choosing wrong. you just dont do it in the world cup

Not really a "fairweather" fans situation, but it certainly won't be the same with the US and England out.
6/29/2010 12:06:59 PM
hope Japan can find a way to win this
6/29/2010 12:07:47 PM
I mean people who only watch soccer every 4 years and only when the USMNT plays.
6/29/2010 12:08:29 PM
yea I don't think it has anything to do with "fairweather" fans; you can expect a drop in buzz in a thread like this when your own country gets knocked out. I mean, I've still watched every single game and plan to until the end, but there is no doubt that it is at least a little more exciting and there is more to talk about when the US is in there..especially when you have followed them from the beginning of qualification through this tournament.edit: Ok I gotcha, that makes more sense. Although there was always going to be more discussion about the USMNT than other teams even among the hardcores in this thread.[Edited on June 29, 2010 at 12:11 PM. Reason : ]
