I wonder if JT's knee just isnt right and he is gonna give up his scholly?
5/1/2009 9:36:07 AM
i hope not
5/1/2009 9:46:39 AM
i hope not as well, i'm looking forward to watching johnny thomas turning into gerald henderson.and i'm only half-joking about that.
5/1/2009 10:11:02 AM
It's odd how hush-hush they've been about JT's health.
5/1/2009 10:18:09 AM
Have they been? Didn't seem like it to me.
5/1/2009 10:21:33 AM
last i read his knee was doing better than it was during the season.
5/1/2009 10:23:07 AM
So i guess it's still not 100%? Is it ever going to be 100%? Or 90%? I too would like to see him become the next henderson.V Well, you apparently read somewhere that "his knee was doing better than it was during the season", so i thought he might have said how close it was to being fully healed. My bad dude.[Edited on May 1, 2009 at 11:00 AM. Reason : -]
5/1/2009 10:47:42 AM
how can you possibly expect someone on tww to answer that question?]
5/1/2009 10:54:46 AM
Hopefully some of these big guys get to play with Brian Fellows on the summer circuit. I think we will see marginal improvement this year, but look for the next (Lowe's 5th) year to get his PG in with hopefully Leslie and/or Cothron or another athletic big of that caliber.
5/1/2009 11:09:43 AM
some hearsay that got passed to me is that a team manager said that JT's knee wasnt doing to well and hes been limping a lot.i dont know what that means other than exactly what it says or even if its true so take it with a grain of salt
5/1/2009 11:21:48 AM

I like that Painter's parents are here with him on his visit. Not sure why but it seems like a good sign. Hopefully we hear something after his UMD visit.
5/1/2009 7:57:46 PM
If his parents go with him to Murrland as well, I like our chances.[Edited on May 1, 2009 at 9:51 PM. Reason : they don't want to send their son to College Park to play for sweaty gary]
5/1/2009 9:50:51 PM
if wall is so torn, he should just live in his hometown of raleigh, play basketball in front of all his friends and family where he will continue to be adored by the folks of raleigh for one more year before making his millions...but i guess i'm just beating a dead horse here

WPH just put up a pretty cool video of Scott Wood. Instead of the typical Wood video -- where he's draining 3's and hitting floaters -- this is one of him dunking. Literally ... it's more than two minutes of him jamming the ball. Pretty encouraging to see: http://wolfpackhoops.blogspot.com/Two things stuck out to me:1. This kid is going to be a much better defender than people think. He seems to have great anticipation on that end of the floor. I'm not talking all-ACC defensive team, but above average.2. He's surprisingly fluid for a guy 6'6-6'7. He's not an athletic freak by any means, but he seems really agile and athletic for a guy who's labeled a shooter.[Edited on May 2, 2009 at 12:45 PM. ^i think wood will be the surpriser out of this class. Everyone knows Brown will be good, and Howell will be a strong banger........but i think we're gonna get more out of Wood than everyone is expecting just because of his 3 stars

I like the guylooks like a defensive machinereally glad we got him, you know K would KILL to have that style of a guy with his current system.
5/2/2009 2:18:32 PM
i wouldn't call him a defensive machine based on that video. He is just taking advantage of opponents with questionable basketball IQ. Most D1 players look awesome in their HS videos because the difference in talent is so great.I'm just happy he can dunk in a non-awkward way.
5/2/2009 2:25:57 PM
^^^he's got video range out da gym watch him as he drains a video in your eye[Edited on May 2, 2009 at 3:07 PM. Reason : n]

Per ESPN on Vandenberg. They gave him an overall grade of 84.
5/2/2009 5:54:29 PM
we are starting to look like duke with all these awkward whities we are acquiring.imagine horner, wood, and vandenberg on the court at the same time
5/2/2009 6:04:29 PM
^^ source for the wall info?
5/2/2009 6:08:31 PM
5/2/2009 6:11:16 PM
i cant wait to hate on him when we play him for one year
5/2/2009 6:17:40 PM
^^you can't trust anything written in the media about this recruiting saga. haven't you learned that yet?
5/2/2009 6:31:51 PM
I wouldn't trust anything you read until you hear it from Wall's mouth or he signs a LOIfirst it was down to Duke and Kentucky, then he's wide open, now Miami and Kentucky(not surprising the source is someone close to Miami's program)
5/2/2009 6:35:33 PM
im fine if its anyone other than duke or unc
5/2/2009 6:36:20 PM
^^ yeah, i kind of feel the same way.
5/2/2009 6:39:58 PM
I personally wouldn't trust anything but a signed LOI. If Wall said himself that he was going to X, I still wouldn't believe him until a signature was on a piece of paper.I didn't see the class tOSU is putting together for 2010 until today. holy shit. [Edited on May 2, 2009 at 7:47 PM. Reason : df]

looking at the scott wood dunk highlight video, he's a lot more athletic than i thought and i'll be even more pleased to see him in red and white
5/3/2009 10:11:17 PM
when is all of this over?
5/3/2009 10:42:14 PM
^^ yeah, i was kindof surprised by how easily he dunks. i mean, he is 6'5" or whatever, but he makes it look easier than, say, dennis horner ]
5/3/2009 11:09:23 PM
he doesn't have amazing hops or athletic skills, but proved he can definitely get up there, and is able to play good defense against smaller players. Looked to have good speed by his ability to pull away from others too
5/3/2009 11:18:37 PM
PP guys are cumming in their pants over a possible Painter verbal.
5/4/2009 1:20:27 AM
ryan harrow named 1st-team all tournament for the jayhawk invitational according to wph.the painter verbal would be pretty big, in that if he qualified, we would have a balanced team to work with next fall.
5/4/2009 6:42:48 AM
5/4/2009 6:48:22 AM
I hope he went ahead and signed his LOI, especially if his parents were with him.
5/4/2009 6:56:21 AM
doubt that happened.
5/4/2009 7:05:01 AM
so if painter verbals or signs, does that finally end this john wall circus for us?
5/4/2009 7:24:08 AM
ahh no.If Wall wants to play for us, we will find/make room for him
5/4/2009 8:58:26 AM
They already squashed the Painter having committed rumor over there. But apparently the visit went "really well", so we'll see what happens. I imagine he'll at least take his other planned official to Maryland before deciding. And it's been stated several times that we'll find room for John Wall one way or another. If it means pulling someone's scholly for a year(it might have even been an agreement with Davis) and/or the various rumors of Thomas' knee leading to him leaving the team.Plus don't discount the potential that Painter could be a '10 guy, but hopefully he'll be '09.
