^ CDC says there’s no need to space out the shots, if that’s what you’re asking.

I would have to assume it might make side effects more severe. But other than that, I don’t think there’s a medical reason to space them out. Doesn’t lessen the efficacy.

They are actually talking about combining the Covid booster and flu shot into one, so that way people only have to get one shot if it ends up being endemic like influenza and needs to be done once a year.

Yeah I wasn't referring to efficacy but to side effects. If you know each of two drugs can cause noticeable side effects, why take them at the same time?

That's what I meant: it is stupid and ill-informed to take them together.

I've now known multiple people to do it with no side effects (except sore arms)

[Edited on November 29, 2021 at 1:40 PM. Reason : (and if one or both is going to have side effects, why not just do it once and get it over with?)]

Holy fuck, do people really not remember getting multiple vaccines at the same time as a kid? Traveled out of the country where sometimes it's like 3+ at once?

I had the booster/flu shot back in October and had ZERO issues except a sore arm for like 3-4 days. I'm fully prepared for the omicron booster that'll be coming out in Feb/March, too.

For me it was about twice as bad as just Moderna, and I don't typically have any symptoms from the flu shot. I personally wouldn't do both again and will prob switch to Pfizer next time to give that a try. I imagine they'll take additional side effects into account if they do a combo shot. It doesn't seem to be uncommon.

I don't know; why don't you ask people who obviously suffered because of it and regretted doing both at the same time?

I can't. Because of the several people I know that got them at the same time, they didn't suffer, and they didn't regret it. And from what I've read about it, most don't suffer, and most don't regret it (same as taking a single shot). I'm thinking maybe you're the ill-informed one??

Free at Walgreens I think? I thought they were usually free? They didn't take my insurance card, I didn't think I was on file with them but maybe I was.

After getting my booster and flu shot yesterday, was a little sore and pretty tired last night. Took a couple ibuprofen and went to bed. Slept fine, woke up today and have felt great. A+ would double jab again.

Regarding free they are at chains. Insured or not. If you have insurance they will bill it. If you don’t they will charge the gov’t for it. They make $40 a pop at the the pharmacies I know people at but they don’t pass it on to customer. Definitely call or go online to line it up. They get slammed with every news release and are understaffed because no one wants to work. You can roll the dice and walk in but you may be waiting a bit.

feel free to cite any source about a nationwide pharmacist shortage at any national chain

there's no labor shortage. companies are running bare bones because profitability is down and then blaming the workforce for it.

In all fairness, a lot of people that used to be in payrolls were useless anyways. At least those working now are getting paid for doing other peoples work. Only fair that wages go up for those that work and were previously doing other peoples jobs anyways. Chickens come home to roost for dumb ass business owners that had ppl at 10/hr to jerk off anyways

Flu shots are not free at chains without insurance.

You are right flu shots aren’t free covid are. I don’t have a source. I just know my friends who are pharmacists at multiple chains have said they are looking to leave because understaffed and their techs are quitting and despite signs on the door and internet tries they can’t find replacements. Their staffers are constantly begging them to fill in for overtime at other stores. So nationwide idk. I just know what I hear from friends in the industry. This is coming from three pharmacists.

And Justin Ive resisted responding to you because you are a troll but for the record I don’t have a significant other right now so that should clear that up

Yeah, pharmacists don't want to work nowadays. It's understandable now that they are being expected to get vaccinated to protect themselves as well as the frail and immunocompromised with whom they interact on a daily basis. Who can blame them after a punishing career of taking pills from a big bottle, counting them out, and putting them into a little bottle? Pretty crushing stress, I imagine.

Just got a Moderna booster yesterday to complement the J&J one I got last spring.

So far horrible flu symptoms but no sign of COVID

I read that with some small test group, the J&J vaccine was more effective for longer as a booster, than the actual Pfizer booster.
