^^we can have that conversation at the end of the season. typically there is only 3-4 teams "in contention" by the final week of the season
10/18/2014 6:53:12 PM
10/18/2014 7:21:49 PM
The only way I think it would expand is to 6 teams, with top 2 seeds getting a bye for games played Christmas week. A huge benefit of only 4 teams is just 2 extra games (extra to the season, only one more than the bcs system). And really there will be no doubt that the winner of the current playoff isn't the best team in the country, they'll have played two straight against top 4-5 opponents.[Edited on October 18, 2014 at 7:29 PM. That UNC team everyone thinks we'll beat is about to bury GT in the first half. Good times.
10/18/2014 8:17:29 PM
^I don't think we'll beat UNC, but they're only beating GT 21-17. With their defense, they'll have to score 45 to beat them.
10/18/2014 8:26:57 PM
^^realistically I don't think anybody thinks any game is guaranteed at this point. it's "games we could win" and "games we can't win". and unc is still a "game we could win"
10/18/2014 8:32:50 PM
UNC corners are pick 6 or bust on every drive.
10/18/2014 8:58:58 PM
Onside kick really worked out for PJ
10/18/2014 9:41:26 PM
UNC seems to get most of their tough opponents at home.
10/18/2014 9:56:43 PM
damn, scored too soon GT
10/18/2014 10:06:11 PM
Too much time for UNC. They don't have a kicker though so it's 4 downs the whole way.
10/18/2014 10:09:38 PM
told you guys UNC was gonna have to score 45 to beat them...lol
10/18/2014 10:10:32 PM
what a shameful orange soda
10/18/2014 10:14:58 PM
yep..unc fixing to win. their defense might be worse than ours. but their O is probably better
10/18/2014 10:15:38 PM
10/18/2014 10:16:22 PM
Even Fedora can win a conference game.
10/18/2014 10:17:27 PM
told you guys unc would win. that line was too obvious.
10/18/2014 10:35:01 PM
holy shit Tommy Armstrong just jumped in the end zone from the 8 yard line

top 5 gif of all time
10/18/2014 10:52:45 PM
I can't stop laughing
10/18/2014 10:54:30 PM
ND needs to keep scoring td's instead of field goals. The FSU o-line gives Winston plenty of time to make plays.
10/18/2014 11:10:33 PM
Terrible play calling by fsu putting the game in the hands of the defense instead of winston.
10/18/2014 11:37:37 PM
Mike Archer is running the FSU defense right now
10/18/2014 11:43:49 PM
You have the heismann winner and didnt even give him a chance to try and win the game because of a 4 point lead.
10/18/2014 11:45:12 PM
10/18/2014 11:47:27 PM
GG on that PI call
10/18/2014 11:48:06 PM
Damn, an ACC crew made that call. GG
10/18/2014 11:48:35 PM
Can't wait for January, three consecutive games at this level
10/18/2014 11:50:33 PM
You know at least 2 of those games will be horseshit with teams like tosu
10/18/2014 11:51:55 PM
winston and fisher playing tummy sticks before the interview
10/18/2014 11:52:02 PM
yes, no one exudes class and dignity like J Winston
10/18/2014 11:53:59 PM
another nailbiter win by the undisputed best team of all time, per mambagrl
10/18/2014 11:54:30 PM
We will say the team who wins earned it but there could be doubt at the end if a 1 loss team wins it all. Right now there are a ton of 1 loss teams. Whose to say a 1 loss team at #4 is better than the team at #5. Teams like msu bama oregon and notre dame. 4 is just not enough unless you finish with exactly 4 unbeaten teams.
10/18/2014 11:59:03 PM
neat
10/19/2014 12:00:02 AM
^^again...let's talk at the end of the season. There won't be a "ton" of 1 loss teams then[Edited on October 19, 2014 at 12:03 AM. Reason : C]
10/19/2014 12:03:17 AM
here's a stupid question. can North Dakota State or Coastal Carolina go to the playoffs? they're both 7-0
10/19/2014 12:07:41 AM
yes, they can make the FCS playoff
10/19/2014 12:12:47 AM
Even dumber question:Suppose the world implodes and an FCS team finishes in the top 4...
10/19/2014 12:29:34 AM
some of those fcs teams play multiple sec teams in single seasons. if they beat the shit out of lets say alabama and auburn who go on to beat the shit out of everyone else, they could make it. think app state the year they beat michigan if michigan went on to dominate and app state beat another team like michigan the same year. they would have to play fcs and fbs playoffs.
10/19/2014 12:45:39 AM
So what's everyone's opinion on the PI call that cost Notre Dame a touchdown and a chance to win?I don't think it should have been called. If defenders can jam wide receivers within the first 5 yards then receivers should be allowed to contact defenders within 5 yards.
10/19/2014 5:08:37 PM
10/19/2014 5:15:26 PM
yeah that was the right call.
10/19/2014 5:26:52 PM
its gotta be tough for nd fans. they play the most insane schedule every year and this was like the bush push disappointment.
10/19/2014 11:49:00 PM
i think it's the wrong call by the following logic: i think if he doesn't make that call, no one really notices, much less objects. the refs aren't an audit team, they shouldn't be out there looking for reasons to throw the flag, even if it's by the book. also i don't think the guy would've gotten there.]
10/19/2014 11:58:03 PM
^Thats an asinine statement. if theres a penalty, throw the flag. Both of the receivers were literally holding the defensive backs. Whether the DB would have gotten there or not doesn't matter. They committed a penalty so there was a flag. Referrees do their job for once and people are all up in arms about it. Amazing.
10/20/2014 12:25:24 AM
10/20/2014 11:29:38 AM
100% a penalty. the funny thing is that if Robinson had caught the ball behind the LOS, it would have been perfectly legal.also, there was no need for any of it. the coverage was blown. the other guys could have just stood there and Robinson would have scored.
10/20/2014 11:47:37 AM
^
10/20/2014 12:49:10 PM
Let's say Golson tucks the ball and tries to run around the edge to get to the end zone. Then his receivers are blocking downfield instead of making a "pick" play. Too much gray area there.
