No I don't have one because I can't justify buying a netflix box that has zero games I want that can't play any of the games I already have or use the two hundred dollar fightstick I already own.I've heard the voice commands are pretty good but why did they have to sacrifice gesture control on original 360 apps because they weren't confident in gesture controls with the xbone? I am upgrading the fuck out of my computer for Titanfall and then Star Citizen. Fuck consoles. To be honest, this makes me sad, since I've camped out for essentially every console in the last 15 years. I wish they gave me a reason to be excited for this console, and look at the xbox threads; I'm a kinect homer if there ever was one.

anyone had issues with getting the tv passthrough to work? I got it working one day but now the xbox doesnt recognize that the cable box is on. Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300HD from TWC.

^^I'm sure you can use the voice to play stuff on Netflix. Haven't tried it but it only makes sense to me. The only frustration I've had with the system is Xbox On never seems to work and Xbox Turn Off only turns off my TV half the time.
11/25/2013 7:18:31 AM
All voice commands work for me except XBOX ON...XBOX TURN OFF works every time
11/25/2013 8:23:00 AM
did you accidentally deactivate it? its an option you can turn off

11/25/2013 9:30:34 AM
They worked for me because in the normal viewing area in my room the remote doesn't hit the 360 consistently. <shrug> Just wondering why the 360 app needed to change.
11/25/2013 9:31:00 AM
Saying "Xbox On" when I walk in there room and having the Xbox, TV, and Surround Sound turn on is a highlight of my day.
11/25/2013 9:51:03 AM
I have no reason to open mine either...it's still sitting it the sealed Amazon box. Kind of depressing...

My impressions:This game console is a enormous leap from the previous generation. While not perfect, the TV integration works pretty well. The snapping of side windows is pretty awesome. My mother in law, which was utterly confused by our home theater setup before now knows the commands to power everything on and watch TV (without picking up a remote), and that is pretty great. Without a doubt, the additional integration of the xbox is going to completely embarrass the PS4. I love when I'm in battlefield 4 to yell "I need a medic" and it translating that into a command as well as having my tablet in my lap and seeing a complete map of the battlefield. On the downsides... There are some issues. The voice commands are extremely rigid and unforgiving. For example, why do you use 'Xbox on' to turn the unit on, and 'Xbox turn off' to power it off, when 'Xbox Turn Off' and 'Xbox off' do not work. Royal pain in the ass. The Kinect camera is not currently great at recognizing gestures. The party system is an absolute nightmare right now (far too complicated). Inviting a party into a game is confusing. THEY TOOK OUT VOICE MESSAGING WHICH IS AWFUL!!!!!!!! It takes over an hour to install a game!! However, most of those cons will be fixed with updates. You guys need to also check your display settings. By default, it uses 24 bit color, as opposed to 32 bit. It also uses RGB limited. I upped mine to the max, and the quality got much better. I suspect that was hurting your TV quality as well.
11/25/2013 10:17:23 AM
How did you all get it to turn on your tv when the box turns on?
11/25/2013 10:22:34 AM
it did it automatically for me, it turns everything on when you say "Xbox On"
11/25/2013 10:50:24 AM
so what happens if someone in a TV show says "xbox off" (or whatever the command is)... will everything turn off?
11/25/2013 10:52:09 AM
i would imagine it would know that it wasn't a voice command if it was audio that was passed from a cable box to the xbone. kinect also takes into account where your speakers are when you initially set it up so it could possibly recognize that the audio did not come from in front of it.also, to turn off the system you have to confirm the command.[Edited on November 25, 2013 at 11:07 AM. and i'm betting that they used "xbox turn off" instead of "xbox off" to reduce the number of times the xbox thinks it heard the command to turn off. i imagine that voice recognition is tough when you don't have many syllables.

To answer a few questions... You need to go into your power settings section to configure how the xbox will work with the commands. If someone says 'Xbox turn off', then a prompt comes up where someone has to say 'yes' to confirm it. When I set the box up, the first time I said 'watch TV' it took me through a config to learn my devices. It did NOT ask to learn my audio receiver. However, in the advanced config sections, you can add a receiver which was trivial and worked the first time.As to the interference with a potential TV command, it is supposed to filter all of that out. There is an impressive youtube video on the kinect where it shows how it does this. So a video tutorial showing you how to use the xbox should not start activating a ton of commands (but I haven't verified)[Edited on November 25, 2013 at 1:35 PM. Reason : .]

The one thing that I really have a problem with and has been touched on a bit by other people but it doesn't seem easy to access your friend information without jumping out of a game back to the home. You can snap the party but not just your friends list it seems and it really just needs a quick friends popup or something. They'll have to do something about that, maybe double pressing the xbox button will popup the older style friends invite, status, etc.
11/25/2013 3:26:48 PM
my kinect stopped working a few hours after i got it. the xbox doesn't even recognize it being plugged inshould have bought a wii u
11/25/2013 3:45:01 PM
yes, you should have
11/25/2013 4:02:22 PM
Where is the advanced config to control the audio receiver and TV? I can't find it!
11/25/2013 4:05:24 PM
Go into Settings, and 'picture'. You should be able to adjust the higher picture quality on that screen.I think the audio receiver can be added under the 'television' setup or under 'power control'. I'll check it when I get home and see where it is if you haven't found it.
11/25/2013 4:10:18 PM
I found it. Is there a way to have the TV and receiver turn off when you say "Xbox, Turn Off... Yes"?[Edited on November 25, 2013 at 4:22 PM. Reason : ok wtf. now i can't see the screen but still have the xbox logo at top right of TV]
11/25/2013 4:13:58 PM
mine turns off automatically
11/25/2013 4:20:33 PM
Ok, everything seems to be good now. Very nice..
11/25/2013 4:27:26 PM
Yes. There is a settings section that tells it what to turn off when you power it off. You have to select the receiver or it will not turn it off automatically (at least mine did not).

My wife is pissed because 'Watch HGTV' doesn't work. Someone at Microsoft must be getting tired of watching Househunters International
11/25/2013 4:30:08 PM
"Xbox, watch Huhgtev."
11/25/2013 4:36:21 PM

Has anyone had issues/difficulties with XBox One Live Parties? I find that it is a lot harder to do this simple feature (on the 360) than it should be. I probably just don't know what I'm doing yet but I feel like it is harder than it should be.oh and for all the people who don't want to wait for Turtlebeach adapter, this guy figured out how to get around it - http://www.instructables.com/id/Xbox-One-25mm-Headset-Adapter/[Edited on November 25, 2013 at 4:52 PM. ""Xbox, watch Huhgtev."Assuming that is a joke. if it isn't, my wife will be happy.
11/25/2013 5:04:34 PM
it was a joke, but i wouldn't be surprised if its true depending on how it handles acronyms. ESPN is easy because it would be one anyone would think to check.
11/25/2013 5:09:31 PM
I tried HGTV twice and got KTTV both times. Added it to my Favorites and got HGTV on the second try (it did Xbox Watch TV the first time). So, not perfect, but atleast somewhat of a solution.

How do I add Netflix to OneGuide?
11/25/2013 6:23:36 PM
Nevermind, apparently Netflix won't allow it to be in the channel list. ^^ mine has a hard time distinguishing between what's on and watch

What's so hard about the party system? I haven't turned on a 360 in probably a year since before getting the xbone, so I don't really remember what it was like.I just say 'xbox, snap party' 'invite players' and then go from there. The only thing annoying about it to me is having to turn on party chat every time, that should be on by default. If you go to the friends list every time you start a party, you are doing it wrong.
11/25/2013 9:53:07 PM
party and game invites are very hard to find
11/25/2013 10:24:56 PM
Just say "Xbox invite" and it snaps it auotmatically
11/25/2013 10:58:05 PM
I just found out killer instinct this free to download on my xbox, that's nice
11/26/2013 12:46:03 AM
also pulling up the games Store Allows you to look at clips that people are uploading by the minute, it's pretty awesome
11/26/2013 12:52:13 AM
I don't have an XBox One yet butHas anybody played Madden? I heard it's one of those "wait until next year's version comes out and the developers have a full year (9 months) to work on it" games
11/26/2013 2:01:49 AM
someone really needs to make a weather app for Xbox Onethe weather app on Wii was never that useful because it took too long to bootup, pickup the controller, open weather app, wait for it to load, etc... if there was a weather app where I could just say "Xbox On" "Xbox Weather" i would probably use it almost every morning.
11/26/2013 10:06:28 AM
Call of dooky has a app that doesn't work
11/26/2013 10:56:07 AM
11/26/2013 11:06:31 AM
and kinda related to that: while the facebook and twitter on Xbox 360 were a joke because they required launching an entirely separate app that took forever to load and didn't have many features, a social app that includes facebook/twitter/linkedin/etc... like on Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8, might actually be useful on Xbox One. Imagine watching a game or tv show and having your social feed pinned to the side, or getting a twitter feed for a hashtag related to your show or game snapped while you watch.

I watched about an hour of Assassins Creed video clips submitted by players under the tag "Funny" last night on my Xbone. What a fantastically glorious waste of time
