it’s a bad look that is also totally unnecessary

I believe women, see my defense of that Rolling Stone campus rape article from a while ago (that ultimately turned out to be fake):https://thewolfweb.com/message_topic.aspx?topic=643862&page=2Ultimately that thread did teach me some lessons on my biases. But Leeann Tweeden's allegations have been tainted by Roger Stone's involvement. Everything that man has ever touched is a lie. Tweeden's story would be destroyed by even a shitty defense lawyer and this story will be a huge setback for the movement to end sexual assault. All that being said I'll await the ethics investigation (hint: the investigation will never happen).
11/21/2017 1:21:58 PM
the video that was just posted means absolutely nothing
11/21/2017 1:30:25 PM
i didn't actually watch the video when i made my last postnow having seen the video bullet's post looks even worse
11/21/2017 2:30:29 PM
I'm sure bullet is maybe being facetious with his post of the video of Tweeden, because I don't take him for a victim shamer, but the big difference here is that she chose to do whatever is in that video. She didn't have a choice in the picture. But with Franken, I'm still not convinced he's the next Weinstein.
11/21/2017 3:03:11 PM
you can’t be facetious if you post something without contextespecially if the video posted is also without context
11/21/2017 10:11:28 PM
I wouldn't call that victim shaming I would simply call it showing two sides to a story. What Franken did wasn't right and he is aware of that and apologized. However, sure its a double standard and all but what makes what she did any less wrong? Clearly she thought it was funny and playful to do that and it becomes ok because the guy seemed to be ok and grabbed her ass? What if the guy wasn't ok with that? Isn't that sexual assault just the same? I think in both instances each party thought what they were doing was funny just in one case the other person didnt think so and in the other the guy seemed ok with it. I am not arguing that either of them were right but simply that in both of these cases based on how things are being treated now that both of these are sexual assaults and both should be apologizing for their actions.

oh jesus christthis is a really bad look for democrats, what she did in the video is not the same at all as what is alleged
11/22/2017 9:24:38 AM
Sure it is a double standard. If you want that to change, then men will need to complain when they feel like they've been harassed or taken advantage of. But men won't do that. Rarely will that happen.^Why do you say it is a bad look for democrats. It is a bad look for everybody.
11/22/2017 9:42:05 AM
it's democrats defending franken, and the way they are doing so makes them look really bad
11/22/2017 9:44:35 AM
WE DON’T KNOW THE RELATIONSHIP OF THE TWO PEOPLE IN THE POSTED VIDEOI thought that if I put it in all caps, some of you might finally understand we also don’t know if that was a planned, consensual bitbecause of these (and other factors), the video has absolutely nothing to do with what Al Franken did, and the only reason for someone to post it is to attempt to defend Al Franken, which is wrong, because it’s indefensible

Hannity really is a scumbag. It makes me sad he calls himself a conservative.
11/22/2017 10:12:47 AM
^^ Franken may not have done anything wrong, but trying to dismiss the woman with a video entirely unrelated and not the same as what has been alleged against franken makes you look like a hypocritical, victim-shaming, whataboutist

I mean, i agree with both of you, for the most part. But it's pretty telling that your immediate response to the video is "that video means nothing, we don't know the relationship between the two people", but your immediate response to the picture and allegation is "any unwanted/non-consensual contact is very bad".(and my skepticism isn't soley based on that video. It's more based on the fact that she is a regular guest and "contributor' on scumbag Hannity's show, who is one of the leading "whataboutist" (and yes, the roger stone tweet prior to her allegations becoming public is a little weird). That doesn't mean her accounts aren't true, they may very well be true, but it's reason for some skepticism)[Edited on November 22, 2017 at 11:30 AM. Reason : ]

I mean watching the video to me the guy realizes what is happening and has a WTF look on his face then realizes its an attractive female and decides to grab her ass... lets say its someone he is disgusted by and turns the crowd with a face? Is it only a problem because it turns out he wasnt interested?

To be fair though, if it had been a Republican senator in that picture, CNN would have digital forensic experts analyzing the shit out of that picture to prove there was contact.

CNN, and the rest of the "liberal media", has been pretty fair in their coverage of franken
11/22/2017 2:16:44 PM
Before a meeting with Dems and Republicans on the Budget and lowering taxes, the President tweets that Dems don't want a deal and only care about keeping illegal aliens in the country, are soft on crime, and want to raise taxes and shut down the government. The Dems, in turn, stick it to the President and pull out of the meeting, revealing they only care about keeping illegal aliens in the country, are soft on crime, and want to raise taxes and shut down the government. And don't like when the President tweets.

This last exchange is quite telling about democratic strategy. Everytime liberals are accused of being progressive they collapse into a state of urgent denial. Progressives should proudly own being soft on non-violent crime, pro-amnesty, and mass immigration but instead, Democrats lack backbone and do gymnastics to try and sound progressive without actually standing for anything as if they can somehow win over people who want to be "tough on crime" by straddling both sides of the fence. YOU'RE DAMN RIGHT, I'M SOFT ON CRIME[Edited on November 30, 2017 at 12:58 AM. Reason : if you refuse to alienate anyone, you will never generate true passion the way trump can]

^ Wut?It's as simple as 'Why go to a meeting with the President when he's not willing to bargain on our sticking points?'He said a deal wouldn't be made, I wouldn't want to waste my time either.

^ what exchange??More importantly, though:Pelosi, a few days after calling John Conyers an "icon," is now pressuring him to resign.Conyers, in response, told her "I've been making white women bend over for years now. What makes you think I'm going to bend over for one of them?"James Clyburn, the No. 3 in Dem House Leadership, has dismissed accusations against Conyers because "all the women are white."And the Dems, for the 5th time now, have unsuccessfully attempted to push the Tax Bill back into committee. An interesting note is that each time they try, more votes are building up against them (45-55 this past time, meaning there is bipartisan support for proceeding with the vote).Oop...going to number 6 now!LOLSTRONGER TOGETHER
11/30/2017 7:36:00 PM
More better news for the Dems:After realizing that one of Conyers’ accusers is black, Clyburn is now calling on Conyers to resign.
