10/13/2010 6:28:02 PM
We shall victor this game 53-17. I also think we should vote to give killpups the suspenders when the pack wins.
10/13/2010 6:45:48 PM
or we could just kill killpupssee what i did there?
10/13/2010 7:21:30 PM
Our secondary is pretty not good, I'm just not sure they'll be able to stop our blitzing.
10/13/2010 7:29:53 PM
Yes. The blitzing is going to be wild and Im scared. But how much blitzing can you do when we're 5 wide? I can't wait to see Jonathan Williams and Nate Irving meet up. I bet Irving tackles him low. lololololololololololololololololololol
10/13/2010 7:38:47 PM

i would imagine we blitz some, but the offense ECU runs neutralizes the blitz by dinking and dunking and getting the ball out of the QB's hands quickly. I'm interested to see the gameplan that "archuta" comes up with
10/13/2010 8:06:37 PM
tanuta is the lb coach and irving is the starting mlb. That in and of itself is way past scary. Yeah our offense dinks and dunks over the middle alot. That combined with the first point, is scary. With state's wild blitzing game and then fake blitzing dropping into coverage and our dumping over the middle, I expect us to throw atleast 6 INT's on saturday. 2 or 3 pick 6's. The game isn't going to be between state and ecu. Its going to be between state's offense and state's defense.
10/13/2010 8:12:53 PM
How is ECU's OL? I wouldn't be surprised if we mostly bring one LB if we blitz, and much of the time drop the LB's into the zone or out to the sides after showing blitz.
10/13/2010 8:17:57 PM
State is 8th in the nation in overall sacks at 3.33 per game. ECU is 46th in sacks allowed at 1.6 per game. The flip side is state gives up 2.83 per game and ecu gets 2.4. State averages 5.17 (26th) penalties for 34.33 (7th) yards per game. ECU averages 9 (115th) penalties for 77.4 (116th) yards per. kickoff yards allowed is close with ECU giving up 20.1 and state giving up 22.1.punt returns allowed are crazy. State averages 1 yard per and ECU at 8.27 per.State is 6th in the nation in 3rd down defense, ECU is 100th.State also controls the ball for more than 5 1/2 minutes more per game.
10/13/2010 8:48:04 PM
FWIW UCF is up 14-0 on Marshall in the 2nd.

10/13/2010 9:07:13 PM

I really need to note here that all the ECU fans at work were saying that NCSU's schedule always so easy, using examples of schools that we didnt even play this year. So when NCSU wins I can say yep we do have an easy schedule we did play ECU afterall. [Edited on October 13, 2010 at 9:47 PM. Reason : . all arguments in eastern nc are up hill odds in a ECU/NCSU debate. ]
10/13/2010 9:44:57 PM
I always wondered how ECU fans tried to make fun of us in their minds. I know UNC does the moo u thing, but ECU doing it is just funny. "pirates are not rednecks"

it used to be called Carter Stadium, but I dunno how long ago that was. I tried to find a timeline on names but couldn't. all the info just says it was carter before it was carter-finley. i call it tha carter and blast that song all over town, because i'm cool.
10/13/2010 10:14:00 PM
Mattes did an interview on WRAL a few weeks ago and he called it "The Carter". I wouldn't advise him otherwise, that dude is big.

Like I posted earlier--VT, FSU, Clemson, and NCSU are the only 4 home crowds worth a shit in the ACC.
10/13/2010 11:57:38 PM
BUT WHAT ABOUT THOSE INTIMIDATING TREES ?
10/14/2010 12:00:51 AM
agreed ^^
10/14/2010 12:03:26 AM
we're only really worth a shit at night.sad, but true.
10/14/2010 12:30:20 AM
We're better at night just like everyone else is better at night.FSU is like a morgue for a noon game. Clemson is a little better than CF for day games, but not much.Never been to Lane Stadium, but I know they are known for their night game atmosphere.[Edited on October 14, 2010 at 12:35 AM. I dont think that's true Simon, I think it really depends on how the game is going, our opponent, etc. I was at last year's Pittsburgh game and I think it was like a 3 or 4 pm kick off, it was rainy start/middle/end of that game and the place was rocking from the time I took my seat until the crazy ass failed 4th down conversion in the endzone by Pittsburgh. But, i think our fans do a kick ass job of knowing when to make it so raucous in there that i literally cant hear the person beside me asking me a question. i wouldnt have it any other way. Closing that end zone facing RBC center helped as well. But we have always had a kick ass home field advantage. I dont know what it was like prior to 1998.

October, 13, 2010By Heather Dinich "NC State's many options"Entering this season, there was a lot of attention given to what NC State coach Tom O’Brien didn’t have -- all four starters from the 2009 defensive line or any running backs with starting experience. But O’Brien knew what he did have – a group of talented receivers deep enough to field their own entire offensive unit. With three --seniors, three juniors and one redshirt freshman, NC State’s receiving corps has proved to be one of the deepest and most productive groups in the ACC this year.Sixteen different players have caught passes this season and six have double-digit reception totals. In four of the six games, passes have been caught by 10 or more different players, and 10 different players have at least one touchdown catch this season. Jarvis Williams leads the way with three.“When the defense says who do we have to stop? They say the quarterback, No. 1, and No. 2, who’s he throwing it to? Well, when he’s throwing to 10 or 11 different guys, it’s kind of tough to single out one guy, here, there, or anywhere else,” said O’Brien.Owen Spencer leads the team with 28 receptions, followed by Williams with 22 and tight end George Bryan with 17. They’re a big reason why NC State is currently leading the ACC with 37.5 points per game. The Wolfpack will face another high-flying offense on Saturday when it travels to East Carolina, which ranks second in Conference USA with 37.6 points per game. Both are among the top 15 scoring offenses in the country. What has been most impressive about NC State’s receivers is the frequency with which they score. Williams has scored every 5.7 times he catches the ball -- the best in school history. Spencer is scoring every 7.8 times he catches the ball and is second on the team with eight plays over 20 yards. It’s not just receivers, though, who are helping out quarterback Russell Wilson. Freshman running back Mustafa Greene has 17 catches for 161 yards.“It’s an advantage for us because all of our players know they better be running the routes where they’re supposed to be, and be there when they’re supposed to be there, because they’re liable to get to the ball because he’s going to throw it to them," O'Brien said. "And it makes better for practice for us because everybody is engaged and knows that if they practice they get their opportunity to get on the field, somebody is going to throw them the football and they’re going to have a chance to make a play.”

no injury report since it's an out of conference opponent.
10/14/2010 9:43:58 AM
I have an injury report for ya. Just Dixon was a 4 star lb who committed to UNC. He didn't qualify and enrolled at ezu cause we're all stupid. He sat out a year and we moved him to DE and was starting for us. well in the unc game in the second quarter, after he had sacked TJ yates a couple times, one of their guards takes out his knee from his blindside. Now Dixon is out for the year with a torn ACL. Thanks alot carolina. Did I mention that i f'n hate the tarholes. =)
