yeah, it kind of does. for example, you can probably guess that the al east has been beating the shit out of their crappy teams (their bad teams-namely baltimore-are BAD). the NL east seems pretty evenly matched. to say it "tells nothing" is kind of dickish[Edited on August 3, 2010 at 5:17 PM. Reason : .]
8/3/2010 5:14:06 PM
Extremely dickish, but why not just post the full standings?[Edited on August 3, 2010 at 5:24 PM. Reason : f]
8/3/2010 5:22:15 PM
Yeah I don't get what's going on with Dr. Madman's analysis
8/3/2010 5:23:24 PM
fair enough. AL EAST = +31AL CENTRAL = -6AL WEST = -9NL EAST = +13NL CENTRAL = -44NL WEST = +15RANKINGS ACCORDING TO DR. MADMAN:1) AL EAST2) NL WEST3) NL EAST4) AL CENTRAL5) AL WEST6) NL CENTRALthe al east is as good as the nl central is bad. and the nl central is probably more bad than the al east is good. and I know how much I sound like tim mccarver right now[Edited on August 3, 2010 at 5:25 PM. Reason : lol][Edited on August 3, 2010 at 5:27 PM. Reason : .]
8/3/2010 5:24:57 PM
Basically the Yankees and Rays are really good, the ALCS is the World Series, I don't trust the Padres or Giants, most everyone else is average, the AL Central has three really really bad teams, and fuck the Mets
8/3/2010 5:29:27 PM
baltimore should be relagated to AAA
8/3/2010 5:31:28 PM
And lets replace them with a team from the booming metropolis of either Columbus, Gwinnet, or Scranton Wilks BarreYour Choice!
8/3/2010 5:34:36 PM
Or not replace them at all! Move Pittsburgh to the AL East and guarantee that the Yankees and Red Sox will continue to feast for years.
8/3/2010 5:35:44 PM
The Wire was nearly based in Gwinnett County
8/3/2010 5:35:47 PM
8/3/2010 5:45:52 PM
That was supposed to be the NL Central, my badPadres are great, lost both series to the Braves
8/3/2010 5:55:26 PM
The Lakers have been great the last 2 years, they are 1-3 against the Bobcats over that time]
8/3/2010 5:56:24 PM
Six games over the last three months says a lot okAnd even if I weren't a Braves fan, I wouldn't argue that the Padres have a team more capable of winning it all
8/3/2010 5:58:45 PM
I'm still 'meh' on the Padres. I like ATL, Philly, and STL over them in a seven game series.
8/3/2010 5:59:36 PM
I'd actually take the Braves to come out of the NL over San DiegoBut the Padres are still playing their best ball in probably the last decade, maybe even longer than thatI can't really explain it...their only stud is Adrian Gonzalez...none of their starting pitchers made the AS game...yet they have the best record in the NL...its weird]
8/3/2010 6:00:38 PM
if stl or cincinatti went on a 6 or 7 game tear they could probably lock up the division. they keep dicking around with each other.
8/3/2010 6:01:06 PM
my preseason pick for that division winner was Colorado though, so I'm stickin to ma guns
8/3/2010 6:03:32 PM
Other than Gonzalez, they have two guys batting over .270, one guy with an OBP over .330 and two guys slugging over .400Latos is having one of the best seasons in the league and Garland, LeBlanc and Richard are all pitching like #2s. They also haven't had anyone miss a single start.I want to say they can't keep it up, but who knows. They'll probably win the west, but I don't like them against anyone in a seven game series.[Edited on August 3, 2010 at 6:06 PM. Reason : Plus their pen is probably only second to Atlanta's]
8/3/2010 6:04:26 PM
best bullpen in the bigs though...if their starter can go 6 decent innings, they have a good chance of winning every game[Edited on August 3, 2010 at 6:07 PM. Reason : and don't forget they got Ludwick]
8/3/2010 6:06:41 PM
A-ROD IS AT BAT strikeoutSO THE WAIT CONTINUES[Edited on August 3, 2010 at 7:24 PM. Reason : .]anybody just see that Mike Lowell homer? wow, that thing got out in a hurry...1st pitch fastball homer[Edited on August 3, 2010 at 7:42 PM. Reason : .]
8/3/2010 7:24:03 PM
congrats to Arod
8/4/2010 1:27:21 PM
Oh, thank God. I was really starting to get tired watching him feebly fly out to shallow right field... about a week ago.
8/4/2010 1:29:15 PM
Of courseAfter I unintentionally saw about 20 of his at bats over the past two weeks, due to live cut ins by EPSN, MLB Network, FOX, and every other sports outlet know to man, he finally hits it on a Wednesday afternoon when hardly anyone is watching. Not exactly a prime time performer...but then again, he never has been.
8/4/2010 1:40:55 PM
Except for last year, but that was probably an anomaly.
8/4/2010 1:43:50 PM
What a hollow 600th. When Junior hit it, I remember being really excited and happy for him. A-Rod is just a cocksucker and a cheater. I'm just glad I don't have to suffer through watching his ABs anymore.
8/4/2010 2:18:09 PM
^ you'd be giving him a handjob if he were with the mets.
8/4/2010 2:21:39 PM
600*

Reason 3,584 why baseball should only be played outdoors in Twins/Rays game... awful.
8/5/2010 2:35:18 PM
What happened?
8/5/2010 2:36:06 PM
do tell
8/5/2010 2:36:09 PM
Oh, 6-6 game in the top of the 9th. Runners on 1st and 3rd with 2 outs. Pop up on the infield hits the catwalk, bounces around up there and falls ten feet behind the mound with no one near it. 8-6 Twins now.
8/5/2010 2:37:35 PM
Even if it's outdoor, it doesn't mean retarded shit like this gets prevented:(and yes I view retractable roof parks to be outdoors)[Edited on August 5, 2010 at 2:46 PM. Reason : .]
8/5/2010 2:44:21 PM
that is the dumbest thing i have ever seen
8/5/2010 2:48:15 PM
can't blame the Twins...we built a whole new outdoor parkand who is the genius who designed center field in Minute Maid Park"hey, i know what would be cool...when you get about 400 feet into center...lets put a big hill...and a pole"]
8/5/2010 3:02:41 PM
It was a homage to the old Fenway which used to have a hill in front of the Monster
8/5/2010 3:09:37 PM
"hey, i know what would be cool...when you get about 400 feet into center...lets put a big hill...and a pole""but, why?""I don't know""okay, let's do it"

CEILING CAT IS STEALING YOUR POPUPS.
8/5/2010 4:57:39 PM
1 less out and it wouldnt been a simple infield fly rule call
8/5/2010 5:11:35 PM
Go twins! Off the rafters is awesome...on a side note, I've been to Trop. field, and its nice and all...its just weird being indoors for baseball
8/5/2010 10:03:24 PM
top of the 9th in the phils/marlins gameh. ramirez throwing error leads to man on base, then a single puts men on 1st and 2nd, damn near hr double off the wall, only one score. single to left, another score, tie game. ground ball, ibanez out in a pickle between 3rd and home, in a terrible attempt. werth tries to steal 3rd, nunez turned for the pickoff. dom brown caught stealing on a pitch out. during this, allegedly the same fan caught two back to back fly balls.horrid pitching, horrid defense, horrid baserunning, but yet, blown lead.baseball.[Edited on August 5, 2010 at 10:19 PM. Reason : then the marlins get straight screwed in the bottom of the 9th.]
8/5/2010 10:14:58 PM
lol marlins announcers
8/5/2010 10:25:49 PM
lol Bob Davidson failed physics

Speaking of the Marlins/Phils call, anyone watch MLB tonight's analysis of it?Millar and Reynolds were hilariousand Ernie, Crosley Field may be the direct inspiration, but Fenway had an incline as well

i didn't see it posted anywhere -- Carlos Delgado is a Red Sock
8/7/2010 6:46:49 PM
I think I've seen this Red Sox opening day/injury graphic a jabillion times now
