^I don't recall them having any great big men, but most teams in the ACC and around the country don't have good "true centers".
1/28/2014 3:13:10 PM
he also had better than "meh" games against FGCU, Notre Dame, a decent game against Duke, and one of his best against Wake Forest. And then he's had alot of "meh" games in between.

Look, I'm not arguing that Vandy is some great player. I'm simply saying that we should feed him in the low post more often when he's in the game, because he has a few post-up moves, never gets blocked, rarely turns it over and has great touch from 8 feet and in. He's our most efficient post scorer by a wide margin. He is constantly fighting for position down low, but he gets ignored in our offense unless he steps out into the high post. We should feed it it to him more instead of having Lee and Barber jack up long 2's.
1/28/2014 10:34:01 PM
Missed the game. Was he injured? 2 rebs, bro?
1/29/2014 11:13:56 PM
foul trouble. he had the tip out that created the game sealing shot for Lee, though. Good enough D and a few key moments down the stretch.
1/29/2014 11:15:42 PM
Just got back from the bar. 2 rebs?

what a weird world you live inI hope it's at least fun for youalso, I've never been one to cite box scores, dawg[Edited on January 30, 2014 at 1:29 AM. Reason : you know there is a reason why he only played 13 minutes, right?]
1/30/2014 1:02:31 AM
Another "meh" game for Vandy...but he's definitely shown the knack for making big plays when it counts. I had a sliver of hope that he wouldn't be in constant foul trouble this year...but that was definitely wishful thinking. I bet Meeks/Macadoo will have him on the bench with the quickness this weekend. Either way, he's making a positive difference when he's out there and that is much appreciated.

Hedges out too far AGAIN on the final play leaving an empty lane to the basket. It's his patented move. That said, he had a great game overall. Several big time blocks towards the end of regulation
2/26/2014 10:36:10 PM
had he not played in the middle of one of the greatest one-on-one games I've ever seen, he'd be in the mix for player of the gamebut still, props for showing up in the best way possible when the team really needed it
2/26/2014 11:09:00 PM
5th year senior and he blows the game on not knowing who his man is with 7 seconds left. Played great uptil then but my god dude . That will be his legacy. Lost us the unc game
2/27/2014 8:54:47 AM
had a solid 7 minute stretch at the end of regulation. other than that. meh.overall about 1000% more than i expected out of him, so gg vandy.
2/27/2014 4:16:12 PM
I'm quite sure his legacy will be the 7 dunk performance against ECU to regain our State.
2/27/2014 4:18:19 PM
Loved all the blocks...although I feel like he could have grabbed that Macadoo block in the 2nd half instead of sending it flying out of bounds.
2/27/2014 4:24:41 PM
Are people really still trying to support this guy getting meaningful minutes?
2/27/2014 5:04:00 PM
uh, yeah
2/27/2014 5:30:30 PM
Are people still advocating he shouldn't see the court?
2/27/2014 5:40:08 PM
I love you guys talking about his "legacy" he isn't going to have a legacy of any kind. Next year no on will miss him or talk about him.His line on the season is 22mpg and a little bit worse than 5pt, 5rb, and 1.5 blks. Isolated for ACC play it's worse. He's pretty much a non-factor on offense, he's only ok at best on defense.Anya has accumulated about the same blocks per game in half the minutes. I'm not saying Anya should start, but I really wish our rotation included less Vandy and more Freeman, Washington, and Anya. At this point, knowing we aren't making the tourney as an at large he should definitely see fewer minutes as we start trying to figure out our rotation for next season.[Edited on February 27, 2014 at 5:42 PM. I'd like to have this thread lockedthanks

no way, there was another Vandenberg thread that was locked because of this one.

No his legacy is blowing our entire defensive set by being woefully out of position because he didn't know who he was supposed to be guarding on the final play of the unc game. How do you not know that coming off a dead ball ft situation???Gottfried deserves some serious blame for having guys who are less prepared than your typical 8 year old with the game on the line. I mean tj Warren didn't even know to call timeout In a fucking trap he just threw the ball out of bounds. Against Syracuse we threw the ball to the wrong team on an inbounds pass. These are epic mistakes and reflect very poorly on our coaching staff
2/27/2014 6:16:11 PM
still our 3rd best player by farprobably don't make the NIT without him
2/28/2014 12:27:29 AM
^^Finding relevant points in your post is like funding a needle in a haystack. So much trolling intermingled I get the gist of your post. I think we did pretty darn well, defensively and offensively throughout the game. Then why do we always fail in end of game situations?
2/28/2014 1:12:25 AM
This is a man not to be trifled with.
2/28/2014 1:56:16 AM
His legacy is being slightly better than Adam Simons and Bartok Lewdowski
2/28/2014 3:30:07 AM
what the hell was he doing on the game losing possession?
2/28/2014 6:41:10 AM
guess he was afraid mcadoo or brice johnson were gonna get it and pop a 3...
2/28/2014 6:47:09 AM
3/5/2014 11:26:54 AM
if he did the Johnny Manziel "get money" hand motion it would be perhaps the most awkward thing in human history
3/5/2014 11:30:51 AM
please make it rain. dear god yes.
3/5/2014 12:10:31 PM
kudos for knowing what the word "contemplating" means. i'm sure the misspelling is just due to the aussie accent.
3/5/2014 12:12:26 PM
straight outta comtin
3/5/2014 2:27:09 PM
Remember his game against ECU (who I don't think had anyone on their team over 6'7")?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=41zRdJzgyscI wish he could have been a little more effective against better competition on a consistent basis (and not be a foul-machine), but he basically met my expectations this year. Glad he stuck around and appreciate the work and passion he put in. Imagine the progression he'd make if Gott could convince him to stay for a 6th year!

UNC players can write letters. Hell they can write a few numbers too, just don't ask them what any of them mean.
