slavery is where you fucking force someone into fucking servitude under pain of death.Smoking in a bar is an easilty avoidable inconvenience. Can you figure out how these things differ?

which amendment is the right to smoke againis that in the state constitution or
1/4/2010 11:53:48 AM
I could not care any less about the arguments on either side. I'm simply happy that now I can go anywhere I like to eat and/or drink and not have to smell that shit.It is entirely selfish, but I'm cool with that.
1/4/2010 11:54:01 AM
^^ Which amendment is the right to eat again?[Edited on January 4, 2010 at 11:54 AM. Reason : .]

did you just equate smoking with eating
1/4/2010 11:55:10 AM

^^ I used an example of something that is not listed in the Constitution (U.S. or state) but that many would consider a right.Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.[Edited on January 4, 2010 at 11:57 AM. Reason : Can you not see this?]
1/4/2010 11:56:50 AM
you mean like affordable health care, right[Edited on January 4, 2010 at 11:57 AM. Reason : Post #44,500.]
1/4/2010 11:57:18 AM
Define "affordable."
1/4/2010 11:57:46 AM

^^ LOL! Yeah, what about food, clothing, shelter, and transportation you can't afford, either?Maybe Uncle Sugar should stick a feed pellet tube in your mouth and one out of your ass and you could suckle completely at the nanny state's teat.[Edited on January 4, 2010 at 12:03 PM. Reason : .]

1/4/2010 12:04:16 PM
i want your input on the grocery bag tax
1/4/2010 12:06:22 PM
^^ Having a right to something doesn't mean the government provides it all for you. Does government provide your speech, your religion, and so on?[Edited on January 4, 2010 at 12:06 PM. Reason : STFU. ]
1/4/2010 12:06:37 PM
'cause i mean seriouslyas someone with an implicit right to smokeperhaps i have been well served by private businesses catering to my needsit stands to reason that if pesky regulations have rendered private businesses unable to cater to mein a way that i can afford, mind youperhaps the state could fund the construction of a smokers' pavilion or something
1/4/2010 12:08:04 PM
THis is what you do on the Droid on your lunch break, Frosh?
1/4/2010 12:08:22 PM

1/4/2010 12:09:13 PM
even better. So have we yet figured out that every side of this argument has been presented and no one is going to change anyone else's mind?Or am I alone on that one?
1/4/2010 12:11:40 PM
the people on the other side of your opinion are stupid

on the realas someone who has elected to sit out in bad weather just to avoid smokersi am happy about thisi sympathize up to a point with the business owners who may see a drop in businessbut certainly not with any smoker who feels particularly put out about iti don't mean to be unfriendly about thisbut you know it'll just get rolled back in like two years, right

I kind of want to see exactly what happens when someone called the BUTTHURTLINE or whatever it is called to report a smoker.Do the cops have to respond to that to write a ticket? Does the person making the call have to get the offender's personal info in order to serve them should they leave before the proper enforcers of the smoking ban arrive (which i am guessing will NOT be in a timely fashion, if at all)?
1/4/2010 12:24:58 PM
1/4/2010 12:25:30 PM
1/4/2010 12:27:27 PM
every establishment where smoking is banned gets 2 warnings before an actual ticket is issued. i'm guessing that business owner's are going to instruct their servers/bartenders to strictly enforce the law, just because they don't wanna risk getting fined. i wonder if the ALE (or whichever agency it is) will be undercover in bars/restaurants to find people lighting up?
1/4/2010 12:27:48 PM
1/4/2010 12:28:21 PM
yeah i don't see them sending anyone....i think just the multiple report thing would bring them to an establishment

1/4/2010 12:29:41 PM

All the bar has to do is tell you to put it out or go outside. Once they have done that, they have fulfilled their obligation to the law.
1/4/2010 12:33:05 PM
wahhhhh my rights wahhhhhhhh
1/4/2010 12:33:06 PM
It will probably flesh out like it does here....I've never seen or heard of any person or place being reported. And its give or take whether or not someone obeys the law or not. I've seen patrons, and bar owners smoking inside before. The law is just going to end up being a strong suggestion
