Oh man, hopefully this is the path to a 1-11 season for UT.

If they pull off a win next week, I'll donate my balls to science and eat a shoe. BBall season is ~35 days away...

Well I thought NCSU had the dumbest fanbase on the planet, but TENN raised the bet. When you're down 6 and you have your opponent pinned deep with less than 2 to play, let them punt inside their 5 rather than let them have a free kick from the 20. You need a TD either way, and you're only going to have one possession, might as well let them punt deep in their end zone rather than let them have a FREE KICK FROM THE 20. Fans cheering at the safety, brilliant. I always thought Bellichick was going through the motions a couple years ago when he intentionally took that safety, but conquering grammar school math is quite the accomplishment apparently. No worries TENN, Florida won't cover the inevitable 25 point spread.[Edited on September 13, 2009 at 12:12 AM. Reason : .]

^ What the fuck? Should they have booed instead?
9/13/2009 12:11:05 AM
Probably not, but I never cheer when my team's chances of winning a game are diminished, do you? I have a firm grasp of second grade arithmetic, and clearly the TENN fans do not. Now, I wouldn't put them on our level just yet, not until their fans start the wave/creating noise when we're on offense, but nonetheless, common sense was miles away from Neyland Stadium. If I need a touchdown and I've got one possession with under two to play, and my opponent can either kick the ball off freely from the 20, or punt from the back of their own endzone with under 2 to play, which would I prefer being the trailing team?????? Please tell me people understand being down 4 and 6 is essentially identical in that situation.
9/13/2009 12:19:39 AM
was almost the perfect dayState wonNotre Dame lostTennessee lostOhio State lostUNC lost
9/13/2009 12:21:28 AM
I get your point, but I guarantee any fan base would have cheered in that situation.
9/13/2009 12:21:34 AM
goddamn dude they were happy that Prince didn't get to continue to drive and put the game out of reachthey were happy there was a shot to win the game
9/13/2009 12:22:07 AM
Yep, and if they'd let Prince gain another 18 inches, UCLA would have been punting from the back of their end zone with a punt block on instead of a FREE kick from the 20, which would you prefer if you trailed by 6???? The UCLA coaching staff should have taken a safety on that play anyway, no reason to throw a pass (risk an INT) or even punt inside the five, but they were bailed out by an even more inept TENN defense/coaching staff that didn't pass basic arithmetic. Bellichick really must be a genius since he passed grammar school math. But, as I mentioned earlier, TENN's fans are dumb, but not nearly as dumb as NCSU's fans being loud on offense, but tonight they inched closer.[Edited on September 13, 2009 at 12:37 AM. Reason : .]

no i understand what you're sayingbut these are drunk fuckers in neylandhooray, homeboy is bleeding, you know what i mean?
9/13/2009 12:32:11 AM
Yeah, any other stadium would have been totally silent. You are a dumbass.
9/13/2009 12:39:20 AM
Sure, I just don't cheer when my team's chances of winning decrease, it's lonely a the top (i.e. mastering basic arithmetic). I guess it's on the TENN coaching staff more than anything. And yes, when Bellichick took that safety several years ago, he was certainly a "dumbass." That's sort of the reputation he's built up, you know, being inept and everything with his 3 rings. lolthe jokes on you dumbass. its pretty obvious that UCLA would take the safety on 4th down, the crowd was cheering that they saved 40 seconds by doing it on 3rdshit man, UCLA even challenged if it was a safety so that they could run off more time before having to take the safety.[Edited on September 13, 2009 at 1:10 AM. 9/13/2009 1:07:25 AM
^ exactly. Other guy is an idiot. If UT didn't sack him ucla would have taken a safety anyways. There was no way they were punting you dumb fucking cunt. Quit trying to act like you know shit. And fucking crompton. God dammit. Worst two year starter at a major program in recent history? Ever?
9/13/2009 1:50:57 AM
Excessive retardation, NCSUMEB, 15 yard penalty, poster has been ejected from this thread...There is no fucking way they would have punted on fourth down, it'd be snapped into the 43rd row.And wtf was up with the Reviews at the end of the game? 10 minutes to review the fumble by UCLA, 8 seconds to review the safety? That phantom offsides call was some bullshit, would have been Moore's 6th pick in two games, haha.
9/13/2009 10:22:05 AM
The crompton era needs to end. He is god awful. I was drink as hell in the stands and could tell where pretty much every pass was going. Just horrible
9/13/2009 10:34:07 AM
I could tell without being in the stands... it either went to Moore or to the hash mark 10 yards short of his receiver who "ran the wrong route....AGAIN!"
9/13/2009 10:41:24 AM
Well, I sure wouldn't want my QB running the ball taking hits in the endzone up by less than 7, Qb's do tend to fumble moreso than a running back. Why didn't UCLA just run the ball up the middle on that last offensive play, instead of having your QB run for his life risking a fumble? I'm not exactly sold UCLA's coaching staff made all the right decisions, but the name calling in this thread is going to make me cry for sure but if one of you could answer without hurting my feelings, that would be great.[Edited on September 13, 2009 at 10:51 AM. 9/13/2009 10:43:29 AM
i like the 3rd and ten play call. roll the qb out to the wide side, gives him plenty of room to run the ball out of the end zone if the pass isn't there. obviously didn't work out as expected, but the Tenn defense played it pretty well too.
9/13/2009 10:51:11 AM
^^I have sent an email to Norm Chow with your observations, as he is an unproven OC I think he'll appreciate your insight. And not to be insulting to others in this thread, but to get back to your original post, I do think you have proven that NCSU has a dumber fanbase than UT's...
9/13/2009 11:15:04 AM
Yea, I knew eventually someone would take my argument and translate it into me undermining Chow and his career. If I were a UCLA fan, and my Qb is in the end zone and we're up 6 late in the 4th running around and getting drilled to the point where he comes up spitting blood, I'd question the play call, no I'm not questioning Norm Chow's entire body of work over 3 decades, but nice leap there, I knew it was coming. I'd just rather my RB carry the ball than my QB from a fumble standpoint.[Edited on September 13, 2009 at 11:37 AM. Reason : .]

Tenn fans are dumb, Tenn coaching staff is dumb, UCLA coaching staff is dumb...make up your fucking mind.

Wow, 44 rushes for 115 yards. Sounds like an all around suckfest.

i hate to say it dude, but UF is going to go Spurrier on UT and run up the score
9/13/2009 8:56:13 PM
oh yeah, its going to be brutal as hell... even if they had a serviceable QB it would be rough, but then maybe, MAYBE with the good RBs and great defense they could keep it respectable, but with Crompton's retarded ass its going to be +30 points brutal[Edited on September 13, 2009 at 9:08 PM. I think basically every school in the Southeast had that plan.

interested to see what they will do with Berry. So far this year they have lined him up on the line either in run support or man coverage instead of having him roam the secondary like he did his first two years.and Brandon James scares me more than anyone else for Floridafor that very reasonwow, Cadillac was 3rd? really?[Edited on September 19, 2009 at 3:39 PM.
