I know its good for the program and allbut personally, I couldn't care less what the payouts are outside of the BCS bowls
12/5/2008 11:07:15 AM
If PapaJohns offers...we're going...thats what i hear/think
12/5/2008 11:38:28 AM
I would prefer PapaJohns as well if the EagleBank isnt going to work out.... how long of a drive is that?
12/5/2008 11:42:25 AM
about 8 hours from raleigh. you can stay in ATL and make a two hour drive on game day.

12/5/2008 8:07:35 PM
oh God, the texas bowl. on NFL network? really?
12/5/2008 8:14:50 PM
The Power of Orange is calling
12/5/2008 9:37:26 PM
Ha, if we ended up in one of the NFLN games, I guess that means Im having my friends over to watch the game But that would suck...in regards to national exposure and visibility to recruits, we might as well not even be in a bowl.Looks like we wont be playing Ball State in the Motor City Bowl anyhow .
12/5/2008 10:56:36 PM
are there any spots even available in carter-finley for a new bowl banner
12/5/2008 10:57:31 PM
i think there is one spot left...i remember discussing while at the miami game.
12/5/2008 11:19:39 PM
With Ball St losing tonight, does that mean Buffalo at the Motor City bowl?
12/5/2008 11:29:41 PM
no
12/5/2008 11:38:12 PM
Too bad Ballztaint got embarrassed in this game. Buffalo now gets a spot in the fuckin canada bowl. Congrats to the coach who was on the Buffalo team that declined a bowl bid in '58 because of racist mofos in florida.
12/6/2008 3:32:50 AM
^Meaning Buffalo goes to the International Bowl, NOT shitty Detroit[Edited on December 6, 2008 at 3:34 AM. Reason : FUCK UNC]
12/6/2008 3:33:37 AM
NOTRE DAME VS NC STATE??? the rematch
12/6/2008 4:53:15 AM
I'mma guess 28-6.
12/6/2008 6:31:58 AM
So does the Ball St. loss significantly affect our outlook? Please tell me there isnt any chance we play either Ball St. or Buffalo....
12/6/2008 10:50:52 AM
we won't play buffalo....they are going to canada
12/6/2008 12:49:16 PM
So still not sure where and when we are bowling huh? III
12/6/2008 1:43:39 PM
what bowl has UNC been invited too?
12/6/2008 3:54:51 PM
thought i heard they were going to charlotte
12/6/2008 3:55:46 PM
most likely the muffler bowl. haha, 8-4 and going to charlotte and they would've dropped further if we would've been able to go to an acc bowl
12/6/2008 4:10:21 PM
Go Troy / Arizona !
12/6/2008 4:25:20 PM
Independence Bowl: good payout, but it's against Louisiana Tech and who cares about themHawaii: Would be nice to watch on Christmas Eve, and Hawaii is a fun team, right?PapaJohns.com: what kind of name is that? Also, it's in a terrible city in a terrible stadium in a terrible part of town. Would be against Rutgers more than likely which is ok.Motor City: Ball State is a good team, the bowl at least has a nice name. Could do some urban exploration in all the bombed out buildings in Detroit.Texas: Against Rice, in Houston, in a nice stadium. Would be good if not for the NFL Network.I'd prefer Hawaii personally because it would probably be the most entertaining game and I would definately be able to watch (not travelling regardless). Texas would be good if not for the NFLN. The others I could care less about since they seem like horrible prizes for a good end to the season.
12/6/2008 7:31:32 PM
birmingham is not a terrible townfucking detroit is the worst place on the planet
12/6/2008 8:10:56 PM

WRAL thinks we're going to Birmingham nowhttp://blogs.newsobserver.com/accnow/bowl-update-with-projected-lineup
12/6/2008 11:18:38 PM
papajohns.com bowl payout seems sucky.
12/6/2008 11:24:59 PM
i know a student assistant on the team and he is telling me its pretty much a done deal to Birmingham. I'm more than likely going with 3-4 friends.
12/6/2008 11:34:30 PM
hmmmm.might go if that's the case.maybe.
12/6/2008 11:40:31 PM
I guess playing Rutgers is better than playing a non-BCS conference team. UNC beat Rutgers before they got hot so if we lose to them, then UNC will automatically be better than us using UNC faggot logic.[Edited on December 7, 2008 at 12:12 AM. Reason : s]

how far of a drive is birmingham from here? i'm guessing at least 10 hours? looks like the easiest way is down towards atlanta on 85 and then hit 20?anyone making the drive or flying?
12/7/2008 9:30:52 AM
like 8.5-9 hours[Edited on December 7, 2008 at 9:37 AM. Reason : ]

8.5-9? not too bad.. wife and I are thinking about going

I live in Mobile, which is relatively close to the Independence, Texas and of course Papa John's Bowl. Birmingham is not a bad town. Went there this summer for a wedding and it was a good time. I would equate it to a Cary with history. Many areas in downtown are gorgeous.
