grrr....when are they going to come to york, sc???? they are all over the rest of the county now.

^^do you mean just a reset as in restarting/clearing cache type of thing? or a complete return to factory settings/wiping?if it's the first, then holding the power button for like 10 or so seconds should do the trick.you could also disconnect & unplug everything for like 30 seconds as well. My uverse installation was scheduled for today between 8-10a. At 10:15 no one had shown up so I called at&t to find out what was up. Apparently they had a technician come out to test the location yesterday, determined that we were too far away & canceled the installation. No one called me, my girlfriend was even inside the house & they didn't bother to tell her either.I am not pleased.
6/27/2009 10:33:06 AM
but I thought AT&T could do no wrong????
6/27/2009 11:28:59 AM
no one said they were perfect
6/27/2009 11:36:01 AM
6/27/2009 12:53:28 PM
ok... so they are still offering the best service and services in the area, and are quickly correcting any issues.your problem with that is?
6/27/2009 12:54:57 PM
lol. it would be fitting that I would post ^ and then I get my bill, and they've royally fucked it up. and their billing department is closed today someone's gonna hear a pissed off customer tomorrow.
6/28/2009 1:05:07 PM
If it is your first bill then remember that it covers more than one month (to get you on a standard billing cycle. My first bill was like $170 to cover the first couple weeks prior to the full billing cycle, but my normal bill is $120
6/28/2009 2:12:32 PM
it's my second bill. they also fucked up the first one, but I got that straightened out quickly. however, on this bill, they have the first bill + this bill (even though I paid and they cashed the check), plus a late fee already, plus a HD service charge, which we are supposed to have for free for one year.
6/28/2009 2:27:23 PM
hm. sounds a lot like Time Warner Cable.
6/28/2009 2:33:06 PM
yeh, it really does. I'm still hopeful that they'll work this out. Everything else is better so far, but whoever answers the phone tomorrow will be getting an ear full.
6/28/2009 2:42:29 PM
you guys tried out the new online scheduling thing?http://u-versetv.sbc.yahoo.com/?wtSlotClick=1-0020YI-0-4it's pretty awesome.the iphone app needs some polishing, but it's pretty freakin' cool so far:
6/28/2009 7:54:35 PM
god I love Uverses CS. Called this morning and the guy didn't even hesitate/ask questions. he said my payment was received, credited my account for what should have been free HD service and for a false late fee.If you ever need to contact Uverse, don't call the main line, call 1-800-983-2811. That bypasses the automated BS and puts you in direct contact with the Uverse department
6/29/2009 10:04:25 AM
Dear U-Verse, why can't I watch recorded programs through the web remote access interface?
6/30/2009 2:33:08 AM
Just signed up for U200 and the Pro Internet package... May upgrade to Elite if Pro doesn't cut it. But, I don't do much online gaming these days. Just browsing, streaming video, and downloading. What I'm excited about is the U200 package. It offers so much more than my Directv package at the same price and no initial costs. Directv wanted to charge me $199 for a reciever (that I can't keep).

Except not really... The porn industry solved that problem by locking/terminating accounts of people who share their password. It's fairly easy to detect when one account gets logins from a few dozen IPs in a day.
7/5/2009 3:53:33 AM
Except the porn industry is handling/distributing their own content. AT&T is distributing the content of lawsuit-happy television and movie studios... they have to cover their ass.[Edited on July 5, 2009 at 3:41 PM. Reason : .]
7/5/2009 3:18:04 PM
I still don't think it would be a problem. I know *I* am not going to give everyone on the internet access to my AT&T/yahoo account, which contains billing info, and permissions to program and delete content from my home DVR, all for the sake of letting some anonymous strangers watch HBO for free.
7/6/2009 4:30:32 AM
wonder when apex / holly springs will be getting this
7/6/2009 10:39:43 PM
^ If you find out, please PM me. Want this so badly.
7/7/2009 9:59:16 AM
I am still waiting for this thing to migrate all the way down Kaplan. Need it to come up near Lorimer Rd. Oh AT&T, why are you forsaking me?
7/7/2009 10:25:25 AM
holy shitdid anyone else get the new software update yesterday?those new features they promised are there... i can schedule/remove recordings from any receiver, look at series recordings, etc... plus the guide looks different... more colorful, haha.

Just bit the bullet and signed up for U200 + 6Mb Internet. Getting our driveway widened next week and the dish was going to have to get moved and they wanted $100 to do it. Cost me $140 to get out of the contract instead and I'm going to get at least $250 back from Uverse + Fatwallet for signing up.So now what's the best way to get them to give me some more discounts? Call up and ask for them I'm guessing, but thought I'd check for any pointers or tips first. Hope I can get either the $10 HD fee waived for a year or free HBO for a year, either (or both) would be stellar.
7/9/2009 10:45:26 PM
^^yeh, it's awesome!

Quick question I haven't been able to get a good answer to.Is the tv bandwidth and the internet bandwidth shared or is the tv separate from whatever bandwidth you order for the network.I was under the impression it would probably have to be separate but have had conflicting answers.
7/13/2009 7:25:13 PM
i'm going to go steal that fucking VRAD that's a 20 second drive from my house if they don't hurry the goddamn up and get uverse in my neighborhood
7/13/2009 7:26:54 PM
^^it's separate.you basically get 25mbps to your house. whatever isn't used up by your internet gets used by your STBs.25 - 18 = 7mbps, which is enough to support 2 HDTV streams or 4 SDTV streams, which is what you get.my RG is reporting 25216kbps down and 2048kbps up, and i have the 18mbps internet plan.on a related note, my line can support up to 45880kbps
7/13/2009 7:52:22 PM
Is there a way to prioritize which shows you want to record? For instance if I have 3 hd shows set to record at the same time, is there a way to order shows so that it knows which ones I want recorded in hd.[Edited on July 18, 2009 at 2:19 PM. Reason : ?]
7/18/2009 2:19:24 PM
yep.go into your series recording list, you can reorder them based on priority.
7/18/2009 6:17:52 PM
^hmm, maybe i'm just missing it or something but I go push recorded tv on the remote > scroll to the right to Series > then what? If I select a show I can either cancel series or change settings then in there I can adjust what time to record, new or repeats, and what time to end the recording. I'm not seeing anything about priority.

btt for help
7/20/2009 7:14:41 PM
anyone know what their specials are right now? especially if i say im leaving twc for them?
7/20/2009 8:18:56 PM
I heard that they have a phone number you can call and ask such questions...if you do call, be sure to get the guys name and employee ID and some verification of the deals. AT&T didn't apply any of our "promotions" for the first two months (waiting to see if they get it right next month). but I did call and get those charges from the promotions taken off.
7/20/2009 8:27:49 PM
Crap... just realized you can only record/watch one HD channel at a time
7/20/2009 10:14:27 PM
^not true. you can have 2 HD channels and 2 regular channels going at one time. for instance, you can record 2 HD channels, 1 regular channel, and watch 1 regular channel - all at the same time.]
7/20/2009 10:16:12 PM
Well, somethings wrong with my reciever then... cause it won't let me watch/record more than 1 HD channel? Any ideas?
7/20/2009 10:19:19 PM
maybe it depends on the plan you have? like, the better the plan, the more you can record? i'm not really sure.we have 3 things recording right now, 2 HD and 1 regular. and we're watching something we already have DVR'd.[Edited on July 20, 2009 at 10:22 PM. Reason : .]
7/20/2009 10:21:44 PM
^nah, everyone with THDVR gets 2 HD streams.look at your gateway: http://192.168.1.254/mdcunder Broadband Link, click Statistics, and copypasta that information here.
7/21/2009 12:04:17 AM
I just called Uverse... they said I was too far from the "box". Whatever that means. But, supposedly, our area is due for an upgrade to the 2HD/2SD in the next fiscal quarter. ^ I'm not at home right now, but I'll post those stats later on tonight.

I'm seriously considering getting U-Verse for my new place ... but before I sign up, has anyone seen any deals floating around for it, or should I just go with the prices they tell me?
7/29/2009 10:01:31 PM
if they're still doing the $200 cash back, that's a pretty damn good deal.
7/29/2009 10:02:58 PM
Hmm, yea ... ok I'll clarify, I just want internet ...I know I can get service through TWC for $30-35/mo for the standard 8Mbit plan (by just calling and requesting the lower rate every 12 months) ... so should I even be considering U-Verse since they are wanting to charge me $43/mo for the 6Mbit plan?I'll take quality of service/features/etc into consideration, really I'm just evaluating what's on the table.Thanks.
