well i'm surprised to hear you say thathow about cutler? what are your thoughts on him?
4/24/2009 4:59:50 PM
he's a strong armed pussy ass bitch
4/24/2009 5:07:11 PM
lol cant disagree with that either
4/24/2009 5:07:41 PM
come on now, Brady is better than Rivers right now, no one can argue that.
4/24/2009 6:18:40 PM
Brady is just another slightly above average QB with a lot of talent around him.
4/24/2009 6:19:07 PM
based on what?
4/24/2009 6:25:43 PM
on watching him. he makes slightly above average decisions, has average arm strength and slightly above average accuracy. average mobility and there's nothing really about him that isn't average. he has excellent WR who are usually open. he doesn't make flashy throws, he makes throws to open guys.
4/24/2009 7:35:48 PM
sounds like if he makes throws to open guys, that would put his decision making higher than "above average"and before he got moss who were his excellent receivers? he won 3 SBs before getting moss
4/24/2009 7:38:41 PM
SBs aren't a reflection of having the best QB or WRs. It's about having the best overall team. The offense was good enough but the defense did work during those super bowl years. srsly dudes
4/24/2009 7:42:27 PM
so whats a better indicator of being a great QB according to you if its not wins or most touchdown passes]
4/24/2009 7:47:05 PM
a combination of the ability to make good decisions, arm strength, accuracy, the ability to make shit happen that no one else can, and mobility. stats don't make you better.]
4/24/2009 8:56:22 PM
so, how do you quantify that aside from saying that in your opinion rivers is better than brady
4/24/2009 9:01:51 PM
I seent him. He makes passes that brady can't.
4/24/2009 9:03:20 PM
i agree with you in collegejust not in the nfl
4/24/2009 9:05:17 PM
philip's metaphorical balls are about twice as big as brady's
4/24/2009 9:07:04 PM
i like rivers a lot more than brady i just dont think he's got the stats or hardware to fuck with him in the NFL yet
4/24/2009 9:09:04 PM
it's all subjective anyway
4/24/2009 9:15:26 PM
which is why many people, such as myself, look at tangible things, like 3 super bowl rings, etcalso i'd much rather have Rivers than Jake fwiwbut honestly $4mil / year for an NFL QB is a bargain[Edited on April 24, 2009 at 9:18 PM. Reason : .]
4/24/2009 9:18:02 PM
but the super bowl rings have no relation to how good a player is. his backups also have 3 super bowl rings.the touchdowns, completion %, etc at least have SOME relation, but wins and ring have no relation.]
4/24/2009 9:18:41 PM
alright not his rings, but the fact that he led his team to 3 super bowl wins, if you want to argue semantics
4/24/2009 9:19:16 PM
I'd argue that was the defense, because again the wins and rings don't mean shit when it comes to evaluating a player
4/24/2009 9:19:57 PM
i'm pretty sure the wins mean a whole lot when evaluating the most important player on a team
4/24/2009 9:20:57 PM
i'll go back to the argument that the greatest QB of all time could throw 5 tds a game (and this time I'll add in 500 yards and 100 on the ground, and 2 TDs on the ground) but if the defense lets them score 7 TDs and a FG every game, he won't win a single game.i'll add in the argument that a very average QB could average ~150 yards a game, maybe a TD and sometimes an INT, but if the defense doesn't allow shit, he could win every game.]
4/24/2009 9:22:56 PM
I'll argue that Joe Montana is the best QB that I've ever seen, and he has 4 Super Bowls to strongly back up that claimTroy Aikman, Tom Brady, John Elway, Terry Bradshaw are also examples of QBs better than Rivers because they have multiple titles[Edited on April 24, 2009 at 9:30 PM. Reason : .]
4/24/2009 9:29:37 PM
but then you have Dan Marino. arguably the greatest QB ever, but no rings
4/24/2009 9:32:07 PM
and I'd argue all day that Montana is better
4/24/2009 9:32:47 PM
bttt
7/1/2009 1:34:14 PM
