i just started this back again after doing it last year...after day 1 you are sore as shit so make sure you do all the stretching at the beginning AND end of the workout. i got so burnt out at the end i forgot to stretch...that was a big mistake.

just started yesterdaythe plyo is for real, almost died, forgot how long it had been since I did that stuffThe chest and back wasnt bad for me, ive been in the gym quite a bit and that didnt really get me sore, it was the Ab Ripper X that made me sore in my lower back and core like never before.I normally HATE abs and I could tellbut its a fun workout, somehow that old cut dude gets me to put in extra reps I didnt want to do.I'll start a track of my progression and pictures to show you guys how it worked for me.88 more days left, feels good to say that.

Best of luck. I am doing Insanity now, and it is like nothing I have ever seen. The workouts are only 40 minutes long, but they are killer. Good luck with the P90X thing. I can say without a doubt it has changed my life in many ways.

Yoga was crucial...i love it but hate it at the same time.I am NOT flexible at all, so that sucked...but I feel good, felt like I did my best.my body responds very well to any kind of exercise and work so I can already tell its doing me some good, especially in my core. looking forward to Kempo I suppose.

I'm beginning this today. I'm in okay shape now, as I've been running 4-5 days a week for over a year and do a short workout 2-3 days a week. It's hard for me to push myself, though. My diet is already fine, like clockwork pretty much. I'll be doing away with my post-dinner snack (which I usually eat around 9, which is ~2.5-3 hours before bedtime), but probably making a whey protein shake around 8 (after my workout). Perhaps I'll eat some kind of fruit after cardio days if I really need it, otherwise I think I'm better off without that snack.I'll be taking pics and recording my progress, so I'll report back. I'm determined to see this to completion.

Initially, I hadn't planned on doing doubles. Of course, for the first month, classic and doubles are exactly the same. I hadn't even considered doing doubles because I figured it was a lot more resistance training, and I didn't think I could handle that. It's actually just extra cardio. I already wanted to add more cardio, because I felt that I was losing some of my conditioning that I had built up from running. So, since last week, I've been doing p90x + running 3 days. It's hard, but I don't feel that it's too much or that I'll get injured. I actually look forward to the work outs and doing my best.I started out at around 191 even. Now I'm sitting around 193.5-194. My arms, chest, abs, back, and legs are definitely starting to become more defined. I'm still not satisfied with the amount of fat I have around my midsection, so I'm working hard and eating right. I have a feeling that if I keep this up, I'll see some pretty amazing results in a month and a half. It's just a matter of staying disciplined.

I only lost about 8 pounds over the duration, but I got measurably stronger, and my muscular endurance is insane now.Went skiing for the first time this year last weekend. Roommate and I were on the mountain for 7-1/2 hours, only taking a 30 minute break for water. Continuous non-stop runs. I wasn't even sore the next day (last year I could barely walk for a week).I couldn't do even one pull-up when I started, now I can do 3-4 at a time, and multiple sets throughout the say. And push-ups went from sets of 15-20 (maybe 3x a day) to 35 (5-10x a day).Really a huge real difference in strength, endurance and flexibility

I've been doing it for about 6 weeks now. Huge difference in strength but have not lost any net weight. Definitely lost fat but gained more weight in muscle. I'm fitting in a size smaller jeans now than I was when I started. Also combining / sometimes substituting certain days for indoor soccer, basketball or running. Mostly I do the upper workouts, core workouts, and plyo. I'm spending my legs days playing basketball or running if the weather is good but this winter plan to hit that pretty hard so when spring rolls back around I'm in better shape on the court.

Been toying with the idea of p90x, but I enjoy the social aspects of spin classes and like my running.Is it effective if you don't do it every day, or if you postpone a workout to do something else that you like?

personally i think it's best to include cardio. i'll let you know the results, i'm doing P90X but days I don't feel like it I supplement with cycling, then pick up the next day with the next P90X workout, so it won't be 90 consecutive days, but I assume I'll still finish it in 120 days or so.

Starting P90X when I'm cleared to get back in the gym. I've got a pull up bar, weights, and the DVDs. I'm assuming this can be done just fine on carpet? For some reason, the yoga mat thing is making me wonder if you need to be on a flat surface.

you could probably do it on carpet, but you'll sweat and carpet doesn't feel good on the skin when you exercise on it, at least get a mat for on top of the carpet.

carpet is fine for most everything, but doing it in socks on carpet can be difficult for slipping aroundeither barefoot or in shoes is fine, I didn't really need a mat since my carpet was good enough

it doesnt have to bego to somewhere like bed bath and beyond or walmart or whatever, they have that bar that doesnt have to be screwed in it just fits on your door frame...they work just fine and are like $15 now.you dont need bands if you have weights really...you should be ok.if oyu get that bar, it has pushup bars attached to it, so youre set.thats all you need except drive...focus and the balls to keep up with it.

So, I ended up taking two weeks off between phase 2 and phase 3. Got started again on Monday. Of course, I'm very sore. For some reason, Tony does a very good job of motivating me. Chest and Back kicked my ass today, and I'm positive that I'm going to feel it tomorrow. My muscles are jello.

^^ Get dumb bells unless you are really weak or have no weight training experience. Work out is much better IMO with dumb bells and it is easier to set up for the next exercise than the bands. Plus you can use the dumb bells as push up bars as well.

I use dumbbells, but I wouldn't say the bands are for "weak" people. The bands are more affordable and you can still get a great workout from it. I don't use a mat and it has never been a problem.So, I started doing P90X in Mid October, and have done upper body, plyo, and ab ripper X twice a week consistently over that period of time. I started out at around 191, and now I float between 200-202. My bis and tris got big, chest got bigger but not big enough, my core is stronger, and my legs...still need work. I think I need to enter a cutting phase, because I've definitely put on a ton of muscle, but I need to drop the "pizza and ice cream" free days for a couple months and get down to about 190.

Just finished Month 1 of my second full go round at this. My wife decided she wantrd to do it so I fidgured I'd kinda tag along as a support sytem sort of deal. I didn't think I was going to get as much out of it as I did the first time, but in reality that isn't the case at all. I can do significantly more reps, and I think my form is a lot better on many of the exercises.

are you getting the results you want at the gym? I know it's tough to pay for something if you're not going to use it. The way I would look at is that there's nothing you can do about the contract. If you're getting the results you want at the gym fine, keep going to the gym. But if you're not getting it done at the gym and you think this will help... better to pay for the gym and see results than pay for the gym and not see results.

well i like the gym mostly for a couple of classes that i take there, because someone forces me to get cardio that i probably wouldn't do on my own. i was thinking of maybe trying to rip the audio from the dvds and put it on my ipod. i'm familiar enough with the exercises that i don't need to see them, but it might be helpful to have that crazy fucker's voice in my head

^ I could see doing some of the muscle workouts in the gym, but stuff like the Kenpo and Plyo, I'd just rather do at home. My gym doesn't have the space for me to be jumping around and kicking, etc. Plus a lot of the moves look pretty gay and I'd rather not be seen doing star jumps, knee jumps, etc in public.

i ripped the ab ripper audio with no problem. I use it for abs at the gym on my ipod. 96bit works just fine and saved a good bit of space.

Knocked out arms and shoulders today, it felt good after a couple weeks off.A buddy of mine introduced a bunch of us to this 3 minute ab routine that we alternate with ab ripper just to mix things up. You can see it on Youtube. Really good routine if you are looking to knock out abs really quick one day.

im on day twoits hard, however ive had much, much harder (mind you ive only done cardio x and synergistics, so im probably speaking prematurely, which if thats the case i will correct myself later )i used to box last summer and there were some days that i would have splash cold water on my face to keep from falling down. i threw up a couple of times.however i only did this workout about 3-4 (ocassionally 5) days a week. with light cardio on "days off"....im hoping doing this everyday for three months will help out.we shall seeplus-this is MUCH more resistance training while in boxing i mostly ran laps and beat the shit out of bags i'm sore today for the first time in a loooooooooooong time.i like it

how are you on day 2 and have only done cardio and synergistics? I'm fairly certain you should have done at least one "body part" routine in the first 2 days.I'm pretty sure day 1 is Chest and Back. or maybe you're doing a different schedule?
