wow, that's ludicrisly fucked up

He also said, like many, that if we didnt find WMDs we would plant them in iraq.
4/30/2008 2:39:21 PM
but i know.. just like everything he says. it was taken out of context my bad.

i just enjoyed the humor of your spin on it, when in reality they were both throwing each other under the bus"A man loots a store in New Orleans"..."A man finds food in New Orleans"]
4/30/2008 3:27:22 PM
the difference is that wright initiated it. also, wright isn't running for elected office.
4/30/2008 3:33:26 PM
thanks for reminding me that wright isnt running for president, i wasnt aware of thatspeaking of who initiated it though, they both clearly were at fault...unless wright forced obama to go to his church and to take him as the priest that married him and his wife, etc...did wright initiate that?i wonder when obama really got the notion to run for president, because somebody on his campaign is pretty dumb not to anticipate all the wright shit and go ahead and distance obama from wright before this week]
4/30/2008 3:37:21 PM
you would call obama's campaign stupid regardless of what they did, so it's pretty pointless to continue this.
4/30/2008 3:55:05 PM
^ you wouldn't care if obama was a lifetime member of alqaeda. it's obvious you'd still vote for him
4/30/2008 3:58:03 PM
right ok.
4/30/2008 4:04:45 PM
^^, ^^^ come on, Obama's judgement is still superior of the others running. All people can harp on is his fucking pastor! How about the judgement to take a stand against the war in Iraq - saying it would distract us from getting Bin Laden, would hurt our international standing, etc... when this position was unpopular? He was dead on too! Which do you think is more important?[Edited on April 30, 2008 at 4:08 PM. Reason : ]

i disagree with that assesment of iraq. i think it in fact is going well and iraq will recover and be a great ally. thus proving obama wrong in the ultimate long run.

^^^ I think he's handled it pretty well - distancing in the beginning would have looked pretty sketch^^ WTF are you talking about
4/30/2008 4:20:22 PM
4/30/2008 4:22:08 PM
^^why would distancing at the beginning look sketch? he'd probably already have the nomination won... what really looks sketch is originally praising the man and saying how important he's been throughout the last 20 years of his life, and then quickly distancing himself mid-campaign when something is controversial^i just think SOMEBODY shouldve seen what kind of field day the media wouldve had...Obama didnt happen to mention to his campaign "yeah, uh you know my spiritual advisor? he kind of made some comments saying the us governmet created aids to kill blacks, and some other comments...is that gonna be a problem if those comments come into the news spotlight?"]

4/30/2008 4:33:59 PM
^^Wright said he was NEVER Obama's "Spiritual Advisor"And Obama just refered to Wright as his "Pastor"they "Pray" and shit![Edited on April 30, 2008 at 4:35 PM. Reason : ]

people say Bush is a bad president for staying in Iraq even when theres no hopeHillary stayed with her husband after being ridiculed and cheated on in front of the entire country basicallyand it takes Obama 20 years to figure out that his spiritual advisor is crazybunch of real winners in our government
4/30/2008 4:35:36 PM
I'd say my mother is my spiritual advisor, not any priest, bishop, or pope
4/30/2008 4:52:14 PM
that's not all I'd say about your mother terpy
4/30/2008 5:05:21 PM
^lol^^cool, thats you...maybe if obama had done the same thing he wouldnt be in this mess
4/30/2008 5:10:56 PM
Well, I went to church too - and I'm Catholic - you can imagine the amount of shit i'd hear, sometimes have to act like I agreed with, but really didn't. I think LOTS of people are like this, Obama seems like one of those people. All a church really has to do is provide you with somewhere to worship. I wouldn't be any different if I went to Trinity
4/30/2008 5:13:36 PM
i dont blame anybody for having their pastor marry them...that seems kind of intuitive if you go to church to get someone you know to marry you instead of a "random" priestbut it seems obama was more than just a member of the church...that he was closer to his pastor than some people who go to church...which is fine...unless you have aspirations of being president, when your entire life gets put under a microscope by the media...it gets worse and worse every election cycleThe Media: fucking up our country all the timei guess maybe campaign advisors are having a tough time keeping up[Edited on April 30, 2008 at 5:21 PM. Moron, really. You just heard about the HIV thing yesterday? Not like a month ago? Obama called the remarks racist today. I heard an interview on the radio, It will probably be in tommorrows press."Obama's public denunciation of the retired pastor stands in stark contrast to a speech on race the candidate delivered just last month. "I love that some of the media is calling this for what it is.Honestly, has ANYONE here been to a church where the preacher discussed politics? I have never ONCE heard of such a thing.

Why is this Wright guy still news?
5/4/2008 12:51:57 AM
According to confirmed nutball Reverend Wrong, blacks learn with a different part of their brains than whites. You know, I recall that the eugenics' crowd, Nazis, and the like used the same garbage to further their arguments.Oh, and Reverend Wrong also stated that black students like to climb on things in class. GG.(Around 4:30 in the "Part Two" video) http://www.hiphopmusic.com/2008/04/rev_wright_naacp_speech_video.htmlAnd there's this--yes, this nutball's still making news:Northwestern Univ. cancels honorary degree for Rev. Wright

i said it a week ago, when it started happening. it almost seems as if he's being paid to run his mouth. the only other possible reason is that he's stupid. i could be wrong, but i don't think he's stupid.[Edited on May 5, 2008 at 3:54 AM. Reason : ]

^ kooksaw is rehashing info from page 1 of this thread there.I think Wright is just someone who wasn't use to getting a lot of attention, who all of a sudden became infamous, and didn't know how to react. It's like people who win the lottery.
5/5/2008 11:21:30 AM
I personally don't think Wright's current round in the news has anything to do with his relationship for Obama.Wright is very much his own man and I don't think it's about politics for him. I think it's very personal. I'm sure he realizes that him getting back in the news might hurt Obama. At the same time, he wants to explain himself and his remarks. I don't know whether he is doing it out of concern for his church or because he's pissed that he's the butt of a national media joke (at times it seems like both), but I don't he's really concerned about Obama's poll numbers.Really, I think I understand Wright better after he made the round explaining himself. I think he seems like an animated and descent person that probably doesn't deserve the treatment he's recieved from the pundits. At the same time, I disagree with most everything he says that relates to politics and race. And I think the fact that he is Obama's pastor is certainly relevant information for evaluating Obama's background and judgement. Now, I don't think Obama is actually a paranoid radical like Wright. Instead, I think Obama's decision to attend Wright's church was totally political. Someone else said it best: "Before Obama was a half-black man running for President of a largely white country, he was a half-white man running for Congress in a largely black district." I think this fits much better with Obama's history of scrambling for ever-higher public office than the idea that he actually agrees with Wright. And I think that says more about Obama thant Wright could ever say.
