Thats what I figured. Personally I think Upton is nothing more then Crawford Jr, I don't see him as a top 20 player as it seems some people do. Other guy really needs some sort of relief (League has like 9 rp/p slots, almost everyone has them full of closers and MRP) and his OF is lacking other then Magglio. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't one of those deals that looked too good to be true.
5/20/2008 12:54:40 PM
take that and run. I wish I had retards like that in my league
5/20/2008 12:58:43 PM
Yeah the league is a 6 man but its pretty competitive usually. The guy who is making the offer just started playing with us last year. I'm not sure if its actually going to go through, but two of the guys in the league are pretty busy during the week so I'm hoping it might squeak by
5/20/2008 1:00:58 PM
About to offer this trade, and it probably won't be accepted, but I'm in 1st place and weary of messing my team up so I just want to run it by you guys to make sure I'm not doing something stupid:I give: Kevin Youkilis, Jeremy GuthrieI get: Alex Gordon, Tim LincecumMy thought is that Youk always seems to start strong and then slow down, so I'd like to trade him on a high note. Gordon, hasn't done much...will he start mashing? And Lincecum would obviously be a great improvement over Guthrie. Essentially, the trade is Youk for Lincecum and Guthrie for Gordon.
5/20/2008 5:57:27 PM
he'd be an idiot to accept that
5/20/2008 6:49:41 PM
Yeah I mean, offer that trade, but if it goes through that guy should be kicked out of the league. I'd be surprised if Youkilis hit more than about 25 HRs, and he might drive in close to 100 and possibly hit around .300, but I think Gordon will be about the same with probably a lower average and more SBs. So I'd say they're going to be about equal (in my league Youk is #2 3B, Gordon is #12). And I don't really know why you have Guthrie in the first place, so getting one of the best strikeout pitchers in the game and a guy who should win at least 12 if not 15-18 games for a Royals pitcher would be pretty stupid
5/20/2008 9:11:21 PM
Orioles pitcher[Edited on May 20, 2008 at 9:55 PM. Reason : but not a fair trade nonetheless]
5/20/2008 9:54:47 PM
Oh.. yeah, whatever. So how long can I keep milking Uggla? He might hit like 30-40 HRs, but he won't hit over like .270 probably. I guess I'll just keep him for HRs?
5/20/2008 10:04:44 PM
I mean hes a 2B...theres not that many better than him, maybe 5 or 6 in the league.Unless you can swing him in a deal for Utley, Phillips, Kinsler, Upton, or Roberts (and maybe Cano) I'd be pretty satisfied with him as my 2b for the rest of the year
5/20/2008 10:31:37 PM
I just accepted a trade...I get Tim HudsonHe gets James LoneyI desparately need pitching. I'm in first place (out of 12) right now because of my hitting. I can replace Loney with Votto (who was in my outfield). I have to figure out who I'm going to put in the outfield to replace Votto.
5/21/2008 6:49:47 AM
solid trade for you
5/21/2008 4:53:06 PM
of is unquestionably the easiest position to replace, there are always top 100 players available in 12 man leagues
5/21/2008 7:20:36 PM
My team this year is all sorts of fail this year, namely David Ortiz, but...What would you do with:BedardI have Figgins, but I need a more powerful 2B (10-team league)Byrnes/Rowand/Hart -- pick 2 to start every dayIanetta--viable as a fantasy C?Straight up drop Gagne? My SPs are:GreinkeVerlanderKazmirMarcumShieldsBedardBuchholz (DL)Padilla (Ready to drop him ASAP)and I am getting KILLED every week. I don't really think I've done much wrong though, just not having good matchup weeks. Am I wrong?

5/26/2008 3:43:05 PM
it's true standing pat is a way to go down, but to be fair so is firesaling when you should have held your ground.I treat RP with relative disregard in 5x5... they can hurt your ERA/WHIP far more than they can help it and really only contribute to a single category, saves--a category they need their team to put them in, rather than the other way around. That being said I have Lyon, Wilson, and Rauch. Not lights-out closers, but they'll usually throw up 4 or 5 SVs a week. I didn't mention RP issues because I got bigger things to handle first.good tips for OF, I'm gonna get on that first.
5/26/2008 4:33:23 PM
Jay Bruce is up !
5/26/2008 6:22:25 PM
i traded derrek lee for vlad guerrero, u think i could of got more for lee?
5/26/2008 6:28:42 PM
^yes
5/26/2008 8:12:05 PM
hmm, I'd probably refuse that trade.... too much for you to lose. D-Lee will get you SBs and Rs, not something 1Bs are known for.
5/26/2008 8:17:56 PM
pick up wandy rodriguez...he's coming off the dl this week against st. louis and is more than likely still sitting in free agency in your league.
5/26/2008 8:49:37 PM
Two trades. Whaddya think?I give: Cole Hamels and Rich HardenI get: Johan SantanaI give: Hunter Pence and Brian FuentesI get: Grady Sizemore and JJ Putz
5/27/2008 12:00:46 AM
i dont think they will do the second one, but the first one is fair, u might even be giving up a little too much
5/27/2008 12:18:37 AM
^ agreed, but if harden gets injured (which seems more likely to guess when he'll get injured again than if), then it will be a solid trade for you
5/27/2008 8:37:02 AM
Jay Bruce (Next megahyped guy) is currently 2/2 with 2 runs, 1 rbi, 1 sb in his debut.
5/27/2008 9:50:17 PM
is it time to cut jj hardy? he's looked nothing like his 07 form, and he's taking up bench space because i never play him
5/27/2008 10:01:53 PM
^^glad I picked him up 2 weeks agohe's 3 for 3 with 2 walks, 2 runs, 2 rbis and 1 sb
5/27/2008 10:17:54 PM
^^JJ Hardy will never be as good as he was last year. And even last year, he was only good for about 2 months. But because he started off so hot his numbers seemed ok for the entire year when he really wasn't producing much at all. He seems very streaky, and most likely won't hit that high again. You can drop him because I'm sure nobody would pick him up, but you might wanna keep him on a watch list just in case he goes on one of those tears like last May. I dunno who to recommend, but maybe Betancourt or Drew if they're available. Or I guess it doesn't matter since you haven't had to play him anyways.[Edited on May 27, 2008 at 10:23 PM. Reason : ^^]
5/27/2008 10:23:32 PM
just added jay bruce today, i have a feeling he is going to be a great pickup
5/27/2008 10:39:18 PM
Man another trade offer to me:I give: Mariano Rivera and Vlad Guerrero I get: Huston Street and Matt HollidayI want to jump on this, should I?
5/27/2008 11:05:15 PM
I dunno, I heard rumors of a Holliday trade going around, you know Vlad is going to pick it up and can hit anywhere but I think Hollidays numbers are much much higher at coors.
5/28/2008 6:53:13 AM
What are you alls thoughts on McLouth? Think he is pretty much done with any consistency?
5/28/2008 7:03:56 AM
i just picked up fausto carmona with my DL spot thanks to someone jumping the gun on dropping him.
5/28/2008 9:19:30 AM
what do you guys think about this trade. I'm in desperate need for saves (my original closers were Isringhausen, Corpas and Borowski) so I'm left with no oneI give up:Lance Berkman, Jon LesterI get:Jonathan Papelbon, Cliff Leehmmmmmmmmm
5/28/2008 10:02:02 AM
man berkman is on fire, but so is cliff lee...that's a tough one. if you have someone who can get you close to the same production at that position...lee and papelbon will definitely help your pitching categories.
5/28/2008 10:12:50 AM
5/28/2008 10:18:02 AM
yeah, its a h2h league, my hitting stats are basically unstoppable, but I lose out in pitching every weekmy lineup right now is:C - Geovany Soto1B - Albert Pujols1B,OF - Lance Berkman2B - Brian Roberts2B - Ian Kinsler2B - Rickie Weeks2B,3B,SS - Yunel Escobar3B - Mike LowellSS - Miguel TejadaOF - Carlos BeltranOF - Josh HamiltonOF - Jacoby EllsburySP - Rich Harden, Cole Hamels, Clayton Kershaw, Bronson Arroyo, Wandy Rodriguez, Jair Jurrgens, Andrew Miller, Ervin Santana, Daniel Cabrera, Jon LesterRP - Scott Downs, Jorge Campillo, Bob Howry and I've been keeping an eye on the waivers all season and I cant ever land a quality reliever
5/28/2008 10:43:57 AM
why so many 2B? you have a monopoly on decent 2B. The other people in your league must be pissed.
5/28/2008 11:01:08 AM
Yeah, i've been trying to deal out a 2B all season for a decent RP, but no one is bitingI agree, I'll keep Berkman, I just thought that this trade might be too good to pass up
5/28/2008 11:15:37 AM
lol I played you in that league a few weeks agoI'm the team with Webb, Utley, etcYou murdered me in every hitting stat but I beat you in every pitching stat and won the week 8-6The pitching was more luck there though...your offense is far and away the best in our league[Edited on May 28, 2008 at 12:15 PM. Reason : pm if you want to talk trade...easier than just exchanging proposals back and forth][Edited on May 28, 2008 at 12:16 PM. Reason : Picture Me Rolen is my team name]
5/28/2008 12:13:36 PM
yeah I think I had the 1st, 3rd and 4th highest rated players in our league over the last monthI've been trying hard as fuck to trade one of my 2B for a pitcher
5/28/2008 12:16:47 PM
I'd take one off your hands but I'm set with UtleyIf you had a 3B or an SS to spare, I'd be able to work with you
5/28/2008 12:24:29 PM
yeah, I could possibly deal Mike Lowell (3B) or Yunel Escobar (2B, 3B, SS)
5/28/2008 12:25:31 PM
^^pick up kouzmanoff, he's been hot as of late, should at least buy you time to find a trade so you dont have to rush into anything
5/28/2008 12:47:20 PM
Nice, I won the Kershaw sweepstakes in my head to head league (wasted my waiver claim on scherzer in my roto). Had 3rd waiver but the first one isn't active and the second one messed up and forgot to claim him...I picked up Jay Bruce a bit before he was called up too (like 3 days) so I'm hoping they are all they are hyped up to be and quickly...[Edited on May 28, 2008 at 12:52 PM. 5/28/2008 12:51:49 PM
^kershaw is going to get minimal innings
5/28/2008 1:07:49 PM
Anybody know of any closers that might be losing their jobs soon? I need a third closer bad, would like to pick up some struggling closer's replacement....
5/28/2008 1:34:25 PM
^try to grab franklin if hes availableno telling who will be the brewers closerif the rockies stay out of the race, they could trade fuentes, leaving corpas to close againstreet will almost certainly be traded at some point, leaving divine & casilla as potential replacementsyou could also keep an eye on izzy's injury
5/28/2008 1:38:54 PM
im in the same league as DROD and slave famous.i traded away johan santana and i still have the best pitching staff
5/28/2008 6:12:53 PM
probablybut I see you rescinded that Laffey offer for SmoltzHe keeps tossing gems but his lack of K's in our league hurts double because of the K/9 statAnd i'm pretty sure you wanted Buckholz and Smoltz for the same reasons I want to hold on to them...the SP eligibility
5/28/2008 6:19:41 PM
yup you got it.i mean laffey had 1 game of no k's. he had 6 ks in 7 innings in his previous 3 starts though. The guy's ERA is like 1.50i have so much pitching i can trade people like this for a middle reliever like bucholtz. Navarro has been sick for me as a C
