11/11/2007 10:23:00 PM
^are you calling yourself out for being a troll? Sure sounds like it since you call everyone in this thread a circle jerk because you can't afford a $99 hd dvd player or a blu ray player on a movie theater concessions stand attendant's hourly wage..
11/11/2007 11:16:24 PM
wow. that was pretty cold.
11/11/2007 11:42:50 PM
Seriously, it's like he knows exactly where I work!
11/12/2007 12:08:31 AM
no denying the truth, troll.anyway, any word on black friday deals on stand-alone blu-ray players? The PS3 deal doesn't seem to be anything different. I'm hoping they'll have at least some kind of good deal on a blu ray stand alone.

%20 off any one item at K-Mart.http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/6817/kmartaz9.jpgThat brings a PS3 down to $320
11/12/2007 11:41:48 AM
says it excluded Sears home electronics? Now I haven't been in a k-mart ever so is k-mart part of Sears now or something?^I Guess that would apply to stand-alone players because i'm not interested in a PS3.
11/12/2007 11:49:26 AM
kmart bought sears like 2 years ago
11/12/2007 11:51:16 AM
well i don't shop at either. :shrug:and how the fuck does k-mart buy anything?
11/12/2007 11:53:10 AM
lol when it happened i wondered the same thing
11/12/2007 11:56:50 AM
They merged, and are now both child companies of Sears Holdings Corporation.
11/12/2007 12:29:31 PM
Phil how is it over in bldg. E?
11/12/2007 12:39:35 PM
^^So this coupon still applies to K-Marts electronics right?

Samsung blu ray player is $399 on BF at BBYdamn! and a 42" HP 1080p LCD tv for $996.[Edited on November 12, 2007 at 2:16 PM. Reason : adsf]

i don't like the looks of hp panels though for some reason.
11/12/2007 3:21:12 PM
^^Samsung Blu ray is currently $399 at bestbuy
11/13/2007 1:07:20 AM
Buy one get one free at amazon on Disney and Sony Blu-ray Disks! I picked up The Prestige, Pirates #1, Memoirs of a Geisha, and The Fifth Element for under $50, SHIPPED!
11/13/2007 1:58:04 AM
Is this thread just a giant advertisement for where to get Blu-ray players? Jesus christ...
11/13/2007 8:51:24 AM
This article is probably better suited for the "If you bought a blu-ray player you're an idiot" thread, but I'll post it here instead. Cliff's notes: Sony is fucking everyone that has bought a blu-ray player by introducing new and improved blu-ray players that have new and improved features. Soon they will start releasing Blu-Ray discs with features that won't work on any current players. Hey that's awesome. Now I can't wait to pay four times as much to get my hands on a first gen Blu-ray player that will be obsolete in six months!]
11/13/2007 9:46:30 AM
^hahahahahaha....
11/13/2007 10:03:24 AM
That article reeks of a blogger that has no clue what they are talking about. Oh wait........that's exactly what it is.
11/13/2007 10:17:40 AM
^^^ Feel free to bump the thread, L Not Your
11/13/2007 10:18:58 AM
^^that post reeks of a fanboy in defense of his company that has no clue what he's talking about.
11/13/2007 10:38:07 AM
Oh wait........that's exactly what it is.
11/13/2007 10:38:36 AM
Uh, that article is talking about stuff that was news back in 2006. Everyone who owns a Blu-ray player knows about Profile 1.1. I love how he talks about lawsuits yet neglects to mention that 98% of the Blu-ray players out there are Profile 1.1 compatible. It's an extremely biased article citing quotes from one of the leaders of the HD DVD promotion group. It's just more mud slinging between HD DVD and Blu-ray. You'll see the same thing with the triple layer HD DVD discs that can't play on any current HD DVD players. The fact that you would even post it as real news shows your lack of knowledge on the subject. Keep pretending though, it's cute.
11/13/2007 10:57:30 AM
^so do you have a PS3 poster in your room? Or a vanity plate that says "Sony"? Seriously dude, its getting pathetic
11/13/2007 11:00:49 AM
Hmmm...I'm going through my old posts, but I can't seem to find the one where I claimed I was an expert on the subject of Blu-Ray players. Thanks for the education on the matter though. Or at least presenting something resembling facts. Your last post was basically the online equivalent of "Nah-uh, my daddy can beat up your daddy"
11/13/2007 11:02:12 AM
^Meh, it really wasn't directed towards you. You at least try to keep things on point. Golovko just posts lies and opinions that have nothing to do with the real world.
11/13/2007 11:10:42 AM
So serious question here. How can you say that 98% of blu-ray players out there are 1.1 compatable when this article says that the first 1.1 player only came out 2 weeks ago?]
11/13/2007 11:13:27 AM
will sony release an online update for ps3s or is it a hardware thing?
11/13/2007 11:18:52 AM
^^because everything shrike accuses me of, is in fact what he does. He fails to see i'm mocking him and his extremely biased opinions of blu ray/sony/ps3.^thats one good thing about HD DVD players. Having the Ethernet port on the back for updates. Of course burning it to a disc works also.[Edited on November 13, 2007 at 11:20 AM. Reason : adsf]
11/13/2007 11:19:19 AM
ohh i know i love how my xbox 360 keeps getting progressively better @ playing hd-dvds
11/13/2007 11:24:12 AM
^ lol? that sounds like something shrike would say about his PS3 lol...
11/13/2007 11:25:39 AM
Does Blu-ray Profile 1.1 make past players obsolete?Cliff notes: Your PS3 will get a firmware update, and you'll be able to play these disks. That is, if you're the type who actually wants to watch the "making of" crap they bundle in with DVDs. HD DVD had a lot of these features already (and I'm honestly not sure why Golovko didn't mention this before, instead of the mindless banter that he's been posting).Whatever happened to the mythical 51 GB HD DVDs? You know... those ones that were promised later this year, and wouldn't play on any of the current HD DVD players?
11/13/2007 11:29:52 AM
11/13/2007 11:33:17 AM
^^because all I'm reading in this thread is mindless banter from you and shrike about how the PS3 is Gods gift to man.^LOL oh ok, you keep thinking that little man ;[Edited on November 13, 2007 at 11:34 AM. Reason : asdf]
11/13/2007 11:33:44 AM
Apparently, HD DVD is awesome.http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/07314/832733-96.stm?cmpid=business.xml
11/13/2007 11:37:18 AM
^^^So you do concede that everyone that's bought a standalone player up until now is pretty much so screwed, right?Again, genuine question. It just really seems like Sony is yet again shitting on their customers.]
11/13/2007 11:40:25 AM
11/13/2007 11:42:32 AM

11/13/2007 11:43:26 AM
11/13/2007 11:45:16 AM
Well its always played the video well but its allowing me to use better and better audio formats every 6 months it seems.
11/13/2007 11:51:12 AM
^so wait, did the xbox360 fall update come out today?
11/13/2007 11:51:43 AM
This format war sucks. Sucks for all us consumers. I would think at some point they would start competing by lowering the price of the discs or something, but that's not the case. THis thing could last longer than the Betamax/VHS standoff.
11/13/2007 12:08:24 PM
I disagree. I've bought about 20 BD titles in the past month that were all Buy 1 Get 1 Free, and it's all thanks to HD-DVD. The sales started when Transformers was released, and they just had another (presumably to combat Shrek 3).Everyone else seems to enjoy getting their panties all twisted up about the 'war' on the internets... Personally, I'm loving this format war if it means I get my movies 50% off.The only part about it that irks me is the whole exclusivity thing. There are quite a few Paramount + Universal titles I wouldn't mind picking up.
