Assholes that use coupons drive the prices up for everyone else
10/14/2008 6:47:32 PM
you can't be serious
10/14/2008 9:18:27 PM
I'm anti coupon users, but thats just not true. Stores get paid the exact amount for every coupon they return to the supplier. Its basically faux money that the suppliers give out in exchange for people buying their item. Has nothing to do with increase in prices from stores. And the only time suppliers lose money on them is when cashiers override coupons that are for the wrong item (which is actually pretty common, in my experience 9 times out of 10 its easier than just saying this is only for this specific type and getting into an argument).I'm walls1441 and i approved this message.

10/20/2008 6:17:16 PM
If I can't find any Sunday papers tomorrow, anyone want to split shipping to order some inserts online?
10/20/2008 8:48:53 PM
There was nothing of value other than a 75 cent off of olive oil.
10/20/2008 10:00:15 PM
well that's disappointing. glad I didn't bother to go out and get one. I signed up for the N&O 13 weeks for $13 so I'll save 50cents every time.
10/22/2008 11:34:50 AM
10/22/2008 11:38:05 AM
just a couple good deals i got at harris teeter last night, i'm not sure if the sales are the same in raleigh, but this is from charlotte:aleve is running a "buy one give one" promotion (instead of buy one get one free...whatever) anyway, the bottles were on sale for $2.99 and i had a couple $0.75 coupons.. after doubles i got four bottles of aleve for $3excedrin back & body extra strength 24 ct was on sale for $1.99 and i had a $2 off coupon (from either last sunday's paper, or the sunday before) so, free excedrin for me
10/23/2008 7:50:22 AM
Okay -- so I signed up for that N&O 13 weeks for $13...and this is the second week I was supposed to get a paper. Those of you who live in apartment complexes and have papers delivered...what time does your paper arrive? I got out there at 8am this morning and there was nothing. I searched around the entire building. Where do they usually leave them?
10/26/2008 2:10:41 PM
^ haha you paper got stolen
10/26/2008 2:12:26 PM
^^ when they first started delivering mine they left them at the bottom of my building... now they leave them right at my doorstep and i'm on the third floor. either your paperman is a lazy ass or you got your paper stolen-blah
10/26/2008 2:16:22 PM
I filled out to 13 for $13 today but I haven't mailed it yet because I am afraid of that happening.Hmm, something to think about.
10/26/2008 2:36:00 PM
call up the N&Owhenever I don't get my paper, I call them and they send out the nearest delivery guy to swing by and give me a paper
10/26/2008 2:52:55 PM
Report it to the newspaper that you didn't get your paper. All you have to do is call or fill out an online form on their website, it's pretty quick and painless. I think sometimes the carriers don't get the message that they have a new address on their route, the first couple of weeks after I signed up for the newspaper at my old complex it was hit or miss for awhile. When you fill out the form (or call them) to tell them that you didn't get your paper you either get the option of them crediting your account for the missing paper or you can ask them to redeliver it (as long as you call early enough).
10/26/2008 8:13:39 PM
*warning, bragging*monday through friday i get a free USA today and N&O...sat and sunday i get a free N&O...its awesome...sometimes i get a few packets of coupons if we have extra papers left...i thought redplum sucked today...smart source was ok
10/26/2008 8:55:29 PM
yeah, they called last week to see if i was getting them yet and i said nope and the lady said she would credit my account. I guess i'll be calling her back. I haven't actually paid for it yet but I've been billed...she said I should be receiving them anyway. I'm thinking I'm going to just cancel it or something.and what were the good deals in the smartsource? I don't do as much grocery shopping before as I used to...
10/27/2008 7:45:02 AM
Is it just me or have the coupons been pretty weak lately? How many glade air fresheners do I need??!?!
10/27/2008 9:45:13 AM
How were the coupons yesterday?Should I make it a priority today to find a sunday paper?
10/27/2008 9:59:44 AM

10/28/2008 7:02:43 AM

10/28/2008 8:49:36 AM
HT Triples Nov. 6-9th.
10/28/2008 1:27:05 PM
Excellent
10/28/2008 1:59:31 PM
Wooooooooooots
10/28/2008 2:01:45 PM
so HT will triple the value of the coupon - like a $0.50 off coupon will really be $1.50 off?sorry for sounding like a retard
10/28/2008 2:12:12 PM
Do they triple even if the coupon says "do not double", etc. I'm fairly new to couponing.
10/28/2008 3:26:10 PM
The doubling (and tripling) are usually up to $.99 If you read the fine print it will most likely say something along those lines. So, yes. A $.75 coupon is worth $2.25 (pure gold if you can find one worthwhile). If the coupon states "Do Not Double" then they will most likely not double or triple the coupon. I remember someone previously stating (somewhere in this thread) that some internet coupons (or maybe coupons starting with a specific number) will double/triple anyways. Here's to more $.19 Tic Tacs!
10/28/2008 3:49:46 PM
coupons will double/triple as long as they start with a 5. If they start with a 9 they will not double. I have never had a cashier reject a coupon that says do not double. It is programmed into the computers to automatically do it (if it starts with a 5).
10/28/2008 9:57:49 PM
cashiers rarely do anything other than scan them item/coupon. everything else is entered into the system and usually requires and override to do anything other than that anyways (except maybe item markdowns- which even then need an override depending on the type of item and what % its being marked down)I'm walls1441 and i approved this message.
10/28/2008 10:50:06 PM
if i find a deal i like that you know you wont get at walgreens, let me know...the limit is 4 on something...figured one of you hardcore folks could get it for me 2 or 3 times...you can get 4 containers of almonds(24oz) for like 7.13 out the door...i'd want to get that deal at least twice...[Edited on October 29, 2008 at 3:48 AM. 10/29/2008 3:22:08 AM
Is it cheap using a copy machine on coupons?
10/29/2008 4:02:02 AM
Photocopying coupons is illegalAnd also they won't scan so it would be a waste of paper.
10/29/2008 8:48:40 AM
ehhh some would scan. Some grocery stores offer online coupons that print out from regular computer printers.I'm walls1441 and i approved this message.[Edited on October 29, 2008 at 11:32 AM. Reason : and half the time cashiers are too lazy to argue and would just punch in the numbers.]
10/29/2008 11:32:14 AM
printing coupons online is different than photocopying a coupon that was in an insert or photocopying a printed couponbut yes, some cashiers will just push it through even if it doesn't scan. This is also why there has been a lot of crackdown on coupon use lately. [Edited on October 29, 2008 at 11:34 AM. Reason : f]

10/29/2008 3:12:49 PM

10/29/2008 3:17:51 PM
