This is horrible. I'm up in NYC so I wasn't aware of this but one of my friends called me an hour ago. I knew Emily. Not well, but I did. Very sadOh and for all those assholes in this thread:

Horrible. and her friend has to live with that guilt and possibly a vehicular manslaughter conviction. All you geniuses that blame her for riding with someone who was supposedly drunk need to realize that its kind of hard to tell if someone is drunk or not when you are drunk too. Sometimes they lie and say they aren't, then you find out later they were. Maybe instead of talking crap about every person that dies some of you assholes could try thinking of how you would feel if that was your daughter, sister, gf, close friend, etc...........every time someone on here dies it becomes clear how really pathetic some of you are.
5/18/2007 12:18:39 AM
shut the fuck up no one is blaming duchess how can one expect an inebriated individual to think rationallythe friend shoulders the blame, maybe duchess and the friend together could have made a better overall decision (designate a RELIABLE dd...catch a cab, etc) but the friend has to live with this shit man

Bad choices and decisions were made, resulting in disastrous consequences.I feel sorry for her, yet, at the same time, I don't. The excuse that she should be excused because she couldn't make great decisions due to intoxication isn't a good one. Legitimate or not, that was just one of the poor decisions that created this whole mess in the first place. Death is still a sad thing and it's a shame that she had to go so young. We mourn, try not to repeat her mistakes in our own lives, and move on.Condolences to her loved ones and her family. She will obviously be missed by those who loved and cared about her.

I pray for her and her family. I can only imagine the hard times they are going through.... thats the only speculation I have.Screw the TWW bullshit. Everyone here could have died just as well, but yet eveyone here thinks they are invincible. I am guilty of this, but at least I try time to time.
5/18/2007 2:39:33 AM
i seriously hope her dumbass drunk driving friend gets no mercy in the courts
5/18/2007 2:42:49 AM
5/18/2007 2:52:47 AM
^^ i think if i killed my best friend by making the most horribly stupid mistake anyone has ever made, and have to live the rest of my life with that would be punishment enough. i doubt the courts can do anything that will punish her worse than that.they should still dole out a harsh penalty, but it will probably pale in comparison for her.
5/18/2007 5:58:42 AM
^umm, manslaughter turns a lot of heads on applications
5/18/2007 6:05:44 AM
i'm sure it does. but knowing she killed her best friend would be worse than missing out on jobs. like i said, they should punish her harshly, but the guilt will be much worse in magnitude.
5/18/2007 6:21:36 AM
Guilt is not a punishment. They shouldn't take that into account at all.
5/18/2007 6:23:14 AM
why is the story not updated?
5/18/2007 7:06:33 AM

is it just me?
5/18/2007 8:12:20 AM
wow, i can't believe she is no longer with usR.I.P
5/18/2007 8:12:25 AM
Very sad, be interesting what the details to the story areNo one is saying the broad driving shouldnt get a huge punishment, what people are saying is she is going to know how wrong it was and she will be very sorry for just killing her friend and have to live with that her whole life, people dont need to rub it in her face and point out how bad it was, SHE KNOWS!Trust me she doesnt need 45764576 different mothers
5/18/2007 8:14:09 AM
She used to sit and chill with us when she was working whether or not she was our waitress.and we used to go out a lot but that didn't mean anything she knew everyone everywhere there wasn't a bar she would go to that she didn't know 20+ people there. When i first came to the wolf web this entire place was swinging from emily and joie's nuts.Every thread they started or even posted in went to 4+ pages. Its really sad to see her go. She was one of those people that no matter who you are she would still hang out with you and get to know you.

5/18/2007 8:26:32 AM
really soured the mood when i heard about this last night.Always cool to chill with at the pool, definitely gonna be weird not seeing her out tanning everyday this summer.be careful guys. Everyone did a lot of stupid shit in college but its definitely time for a lot of us to grow up and make better decisions

i just skimmed through this thread, and although i never even knew her in person, it sucks to hear that someone so young has diedthese threads really bring out the worst of TWW- i hope that some of you really aren't so hateful in real life
5/18/2007 9:13:13 AM
i didnt know her very well at all but we spoke a few times out downtownshe was always very nice and would talk w/out being bitchy or snobbyi always appreciated that about her that she was never, ever stuck up

^^^you know, if its not a red light camera, its a electrical pole, or street light, or traffic light. Its nothing to do with the fact that it was a red light camera.[Edited on May 18, 2007 at 9:49 AM. Reason : f]
5/18/2007 9:49:38 AM
I wonder how fast she had to be going to knock the camera off of the pole. This is so sad. The good die young.
5/18/2007 9:50:57 AM
why is it that the drunk driver rarely gets injured? (that's rhetorical)
5/18/2007 9:52:10 AM
^i think its because they don't really know whats coming and their body is always relaxed on impact. But if Emily wasn't driving, I'd assume she was intoxicated too? Although not much you can do if something breaks your neck, drunk or sober.
5/18/2007 9:53:08 AM
5/18/2007 9:53:32 AM
^^^ no kidding, ain't that some shit?]
5/18/2007 9:54:46 AM
^^yeah, i realize this, except in this case, a broken neck is a broken neck. The fact that it fell on the car is the deciding factor, i'm sure the impact wasn't bad enough to cause injuries if it hadn't fallen off.
5/18/2007 9:56:34 AM
You know, I really feel bad for the driver as well. One terrible decision, and now her friend is deceased. As people, especially young people, we are so fortunate to often times get second chances to do things over or the ability to learn from a mistake without suffering major consequences. This was one of the unfortunate times when the lesson learned will teach haunt her for the rest of her life. That really makes me [Edited on May 18, 2007 at 9:58 AM. Reason : asdf]
5/18/2007 9:57:53 AM
Why hasn't anything been updated? Seriously though guys Emily was never stuck up or snotty and if you thought she was you judged her and didn't have the balls to talk to her. She truly was a good person and a great friend. A lot of people thought she just wanted attention but i really believe Emily wanted to be friends with everyone.
5/18/2007 9:59:57 AM
She probably was driving a convertible, because I don't think a camera can go through a regular car roof. Either that or she has her sunroof open.
5/18/2007 10:00:33 AM
5/18/2007 10:05:59 AM
I have nothing to sayother than this is some sad, sad shit.
5/18/2007 10:16:25 AM
why on earth are people debating the placement of the lights? they're not in the MIDDLE of the road.
5/18/2007 10:41:28 AM
5/18/2007 10:41:41 AM
the chick was drunk, she hit the camera, killed her friend, end of story.had it not been the camera it would have been the telephone pole or mail drop box or any of other various pole-like items that sit next to the road. or she could have run off the road and hit a house or another person or a car or a tree. it doesn't matter what she hit. she was drunk and it was her fault.y'all are retarded
