^ overly disturbing, then again there are corrupt cops everywhere really

http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=8286736192882466409&hl=en-GB so people don't have to scoll half a mile to see the clip...i found it was pretty educational video. And the trucks are crazy like JBaz crossing the double yellow line.

alot of that's a little overboard, but tsp has been a problem up there for a while. nothing new.while i'm sure there are alot of people who have legitimate gripes with the tsp, there are also just as many dumbasses acting like idiots up there that deserve to be caught/ticketed.
4/10/2007 5:25:13 PM
mid may anyone up for dragon again?
4/20/2007 11:58:40 PM
i was going to try to get up there in june. i've got other trips planned every weekend in may...
4/21/2007 12:14:27 AM
well nothing is set in stone yet. im just kind of throwing it out there...
4/21/2007 12:29:52 AM
yeah. just saying i'd definitely be up for something in june if that would work for others. i should be setup to tow one vehicle in addition to mine and a few bikes by then also.
4/21/2007 12:43:14 AM
I probably won't go again till fall. There are some good track events coming up that provide way more thrill minus 3/4s of the danger and no possibility of a speeding ticket.
4/21/2007 3:15:47 PM
IMO the dragon is one of those things you do once so you can say you did it.its not worth the 6-7 hour trip out there to drive for one day.like sandsanta said, track events are more thrilling and worth it.
4/21/2007 4:13:48 PM
^ yeah, pretty muchi'd say it's worth doing more than once, thoughbut screw making a day trip out of it from raleigh
4/21/2007 4:25:02 PM
yeah I would be down for a trip in June... I'll be out of town most of May... Definately wouldn't mind staying for more than a day tho
4/21/2007 11:43:52 PM
the only problem is that track events=$$$
4/22/2007 12:20:01 AM
yeah but they are totally worth it IMO over going to the dragon.
4/22/2007 1:09:40 AM
planning a whole week trip to the dragon in May.
4/22/2007 12:17:27 PM
Just got back from the Dragon last night. About 15 of us trailered our bikes down. We camped at Abrams Creek, and did a lot of riding both on the Dragon and the long Skyway loop. I am extremely sore, but it was an awesome weekend
4/23/2007 7:07:25 AM
trip is worthless if you have no pics
4/23/2007 9:17:44 AM
hi jeff.. long time no see
4/23/2007 10:34:51 AM
No pics yet, I'll see if I can get some. I'm hoping the Killboy guys got some decent shots of me
4/23/2007 1:54:14 PM
I need to get a telephoto lens and just camp out there for a whole month.
4/23/2007 2:47:21 PM
I am riding out to Deal's Gap Friday May 11 and coming back Sunday May 13. Anybody else who wants to come along should let me know, we can at least meet up out there if not caravan out there.
4/23/2007 4:54:44 PM
yeah... riding 330 miles there in one day is brutal. I think I'll stick to short distances on the RR, unless it's endurance road racing.
4/23/2007 5:02:55 PM
4/25/2007 4:50:58 PM
nice pix, nice to see everyone in full gear.
4/26/2007 8:35:40 AM
i see t-shirts, for all u kno they could just be wearin leather pants.
4/26/2007 8:40:22 AM
like this?
4/26/2007 8:48:26 AM
4/26/2007 10:36:51 AM
Heh, most of us are in full gear, and even the ones that aren't have at least jeans + textile jacket + gloves. Anyone squidding it up is ragged relentlessly until they get decent gear, lol.The leather pants thing does remind me of a funny story though. This guy is walking into the store and to get his buddy's attention yells "Hey you in the sexy leather pants!" About 30 riders around turned and looked at him, it was pretty funny. Guess we all think we're sexy in bike gear even though we look like retards
4/26/2007 10:39:09 AM
Im going to be up there myself this week to do some riding with the old man. This would be my second trip up there, cant wait. And as mentioned above the skyway is tiring.^Where do you guys normally buy your leathers at? Ive been looking for a decent set for a reasonable price.
4/29/2007 7:01:13 PM
whos up for dragon? sometimes in august?
7/6/2007 12:58:14 AM
that is a waste of time and a boring trip, whenever i get time i'll post some routes and video from west va and tennesee[Edited on July 8, 2007 at 1:44 PM. Reason : psi]
7/6/2007 9:17:35 AM
yeah. its not worth the 6+ hour trip. but its def. something worth experiencing.id much rather go 1 hour north to VIR.or just drive off a cliff
7/6/2007 9:18:54 AM
five mountain rd., hawks nest, canaan valley, hwy 19, 219, 33, and 56 all make the dragon look like a kansas highway, and no traffic and no cops, good clean roads
7/6/2007 9:21:16 AM
shady valley is nice also, and only about a 3-3.5 hour trip. i've heard rumor that patroling has been stepped up there recently though. it's right at callalantee also, we could do a combined tdub car/bike/4 wheeling trip.to me, alot of the fun of the dragon is just going to a place that has some history, seeing alot of other cool bikes/cars, etc. it's the whole experience, not just the driving alone.
7/6/2007 12:43:31 PM
I've got my fill of the Dragon as well. Two trips is enough to call it quits imo, especially since some of you guys drive like utter shit and don't mind cooking your brakes on a mountain road. I kind of feel we flirted with fate a little too much last run.Save the money, go for a track event!
7/6/2007 12:57:43 PM
anyone else?
7/6/2007 1:46:37 PM
i might be up for a weekend run... depending upon my money situation. would have to be before ncsu starts back up.. august. 16thdespite all the probs at the dragon last time...it was a lot of fun.[Edited on July 6, 2007 at 2:43 PM. Reason : .]
