really, damn...i just bought my ticket and strawberry jam seems to be the album of theirs i enjoy most. i hope they at least play 'peace bone' or 'for reverend green'.
7/27/2007 11:18:52 PM
i havent seen ac yetbut if its anything on the realm of the panda bear show i saw last monthGODDAMN(in a church sanctuary, seated on the pews... all dark except a projector throwing up 70's british porn lead ups... he did this sick thing where instead of playing a song the whole way though, the whole set was one song... and he'd be in the middle of one song, then it'd transition into another, then a third, then back to the first, and the like... nice and circular... and fucking absurd)
7/27/2007 11:21:46 PM
animal collective tends to play a whole new set of songs on almost every tour they do. they will probably play one or two strawberry jam songs, but when i saw them in june, they played mostly new stuff. but their new stuff is really electronic and similar to strawberry jam... here is a recording of the show i went to to give you an idea http://www.archive.org/details/acollective2007-05-30also, they are just fucking awesome live
7/28/2007 2:13:20 PM

7/31/2007 2:05:42 PM
When I saw AC they played stuff they hadn't even recorded yet, and started out by announcing that everyone would be disappointed that we'd never heard anything they were going to play.Regardless, it was an amazing show.
7/31/2007 5:07:49 PM
^^ben folds was fucking amazing tonightjohn mayer too
7/31/2007 11:33:17 PM
^how long a set did Ben Folds play?
7/31/2007 11:38:02 PM
an hourand what up for the Such Great Heights cover!!! I was presently surprised by Mayer...my bf and I went with my parents, and went for Folds. did not get the blues guitar memo on mayer--I was expecting more Body is a Wonderland shit (which he didn't play). Fucking fantastic show. I'm an immediate fan. Shame on me for not giving him more credit sooner.pics in my gallery![Edited on August 1, 2007 at 12:03 AM. Reason : pics]

8/1/2007 2:40:26 AM
Went to the Mayer concert tonight. It was awesome. Ben Folds was awesome.About Mayer.....his first love is Blues. Over the past few years, after he became established, hes been moving towards all blues. His whole Continuum album was blues. He did a Buddy Guy cover tonight. His blues shit is great.Ben Folds though, just amazing. When he picked up the synthesized Keyboard or w/e it was and played it.......motherfuck, that was tight.
8/1/2007 2:40:33 AM
Its a shame half the teeny boppers there to see Mayer didn't even know you Ben Folds was. The crowd was dead throughout his show.
8/1/2007 2:43:01 AM
^agreed. Especially since hes from around here. Sad
8/1/2007 2:48:38 AM
^^^you mean like THIS?
8/1/2007 7:38:21 AM
ben fold's "bitches aint' shit" cover was awesomeive seen him a few times and this was probably his best showi was sitting on the lawn surrounded by 15 year old girls and i felt so old drinking my $10 bud light
8/1/2007 7:43:49 AM
^^yeah, except it was even more awesome when he didnt have it leaning on the box still. He was just holding it in the air with his other hand. So tight
8/1/2007 1:25:29 PM
oh i got a pic of one of those at home, plz believei took about 20 of each showand TAMBO MAN!!
8/1/2007 1:28:24 PM
^plz explain to me the significance of that guy. He just walked across the stage with a tamborine at two random times.
8/1/2007 1:32:22 PM
his shirt had "TAMBO MAN" written on the back during the first song...and in Bitches Ain't Shit it said "Bitches Ain't Shit" on the front and "But Hos n Tricks" on the back
8/1/2007 2:00:44 PM
^ahhh, ok. I couldnt notice from where i was sitting
8/1/2007 4:34:32 PM

TV:08-20-2007 - New Pornographers - Letterman08-22-2007 - Blond Redhead (rerun) - ConanConcerts:08-22-2007 - Wolf Parade at CCThis is the preamble to the busy concert month of August. Except for Bishop Allen, concert going has been virtually dead for me so this show will be needed to keep me sane until Sept.
8/19/2007 8:13:17 PM
Wolf Parade was pretty good but the opening acts weren't exactly my thing. And who saw that that crazy dude in the front row who kept dancing into everyone around him. He grinded up against me at least twice.Add another show on my busy September month:John Vanderslice and Bishop Allen at the Duke Coffeehouse on the 21st (spooky just reminded me thats the same night as the Dan Deacon/Girl Talk show but I don't want to go all the way to Asheville for that)
8/23/2007 4:47:45 PM
^ I am so hitting that shit up (Vanderlice & Bishop Allen)
8/24/2007 12:58:38 AM
I'm studying in Ireland in the fall and I've been wondering if anybody knows of any good shows going on over there. A lot of the bands I really like are touring here this semester (Okkervil River, Stars, Brand New, Thrice, mewithoutYou, Kevin Devine, Minus the Bear) and I don't get to see any of them. Anyone have any European tour suggestions? On a related note, I just saw that the Avett Brothers are playing our fucking homecoming. Daughtry and all this other shit and finally a good one when I'm out of the country.
8/24/2007 3:19:07 AM
i saw the Yeah Yeah Yeahs in Sweden at a festival. you pretty much have to look for those big festivals.
8/24/2007 7:18:22 AM
http://www.decemberists.com/tour.aspxdidn't see this posted, but I may have overlooked it.The Decemberists coming back to NC this fall. 11/06 and 11/07 in Winston-Salem at the Millenium Center.I would go, if it weren't for the fact that the Millenium Center is one of the worst venues I have ever been in in my entire life. Ugggg. Giant columns in the way, and your choices are to stand somewhere that the band sounds good (but you can't see), or stand somewhere that you can see the band (and they sound like shit).ETA-- pre-sale for the Decemberists show is at noon, tomorrow August 25th. http://www.decemberists.tickets.musictoday.com.
