Kyle's new bike is a 2003 Honda CBR600RR with 11k miles. If you search in bike forums like I do everyday, you can run into good deals. I'd suspect for 3k you can get a nice gixxer 600 or 750 track bike 01-03 years, if your lucky and depending on the mods. The RR's are quite prized bikes and I'm really surprised that it's hard to find even 03 bikes for less than 5k. You could also look to get 00-02 R6's for about 3-4k now (not mint though)

I found an 06 gixxer 600 for about 3k with a salvage title from an insurance company up in NY, but it's pretty fucked up. Prolly about 1500 worth of parts to get it back up and running.

I'm still putting my RR back. The wiring is a bitch specially since I'm putting an 05 engine in an 04 frame. No one has an 05 shop manual so I'm working with an 03-04. The online diagrams say that 04 and 05 wiring harness are the same, but they aren't.

I followed the diagrams for the wiring that's in the manual, and it doesn't look exactly like what it's suppose to be. Also, my 05 doesn't have a MAP sensor connector or at least the right type for the 04 MAP sensor. Then there's about 3 extra connectors that comes off the wiring harness near the transmission/under the gas tank, where one goes to the solenoid, but the manual says nothing about the connections. And the connections are located at different ends on the 04 wiring... it's like someone spliced the wiring and put it backwards and yes I have it going the right direction.

well i started to tear the lil hawk apart today.

there is a little more damage than i first anticipated, found a crack in a frame (non-structural though i think), triple trees are in fact gonna need to be replaced, and radiator will need to be replaced as well

but it think i have a front end coming from toyotafj40s, and with a lil help from ebay this monster should be back on the road soon

i can lay some welds on that frame and whatever else for you, should be good to go on that after thanksgiving when i get home. might want to plate the frame with a fishtail or diamond shape plate too depending on how big it is. keeps it from spreading, and also helps eliminate any direct horizontal/vertical loads on it.

don't let that dude's insurance screw you, make them give you some decent cash for it on top of the salvage buy back price.

yeah, good as they can be. infection is still a big concern in the left one (the one that was shattered). just a long road of recovery now. gotta have a bone graft in 2-3 months, then 2-3 months after that i can actually start putting some weight on it and doing PT. right leg and left hand should be pretty much healed in another 6-8 weeks.

^^eh, mind over matter. i do get a little stir crazy at times. luckily, i'm someone who's pretty easily entertained though. i've been doing some very minor repair stuff around my parent's house, screwing with my walker, taking the tv remote apart, etc. it'll be alot better when i get back to my house.

Oh you know it. Mine is still good till February. I got a doctor's note for school and I was allowed to use a B and C parking spots for a few months. It just ended last week. I'm trying to get the RR back up so I can ride the school instead of taking the car. I just have EC parking and it sucks trying to get from there to main campus for an 8am class... Specially since I live in Apex.

I always park handicapped too... lke 45 degrees, taking up two spaces. I'm an asshole, I park in handicapped spaces and make handicapped faces. lol

Like 3 weeks after surgery, I was back on the F2. I rode around with my leg split still on and I got some interesting faces from other motorists. And I did park the F2 in handicapped spaces too
