I got 3 responses for '95 exhausts. If you guys can prove theres nothing different between '95 and '96+ catbacks i'll consider them. They have different part numbers, but i can't find any info on the differences.
8/28/2006 11:22:21 AM
like i said catback is the same, mid pipes are different. you will see most catbacks being sold on most bmw sites for '95-99, meaning they are interchangeable, despite having different part number.
8/28/2006 11:27:38 AM
i know all that. just because the flanges fit and its the same length doesnt mean its the same exhaust.
8/28/2006 11:34:44 AM
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

8/29/2006 11:39:10 PM
Quite possibly... This bit may help on future maybes:The car has the Turkish Euro plate upfront, and a custom tag in the rear "ULKU".Ahmet

Hey BMW people...I need a cheap fuel pump for an e30 325i. It's the later fuel pump (88+ I think.) Hook me up.
8/30/2006 12:00:01 AM
I'm considering switching to an Evo, again.Ahmet
8/30/2006 12:36:23 AM
Sorry '95 dudes, but i want '96+ exhaust because it has bigger pipes
8/30/2006 9:54:35 AM
booooooooooooo
8/30/2006 9:55:47 AM
^^ill give you $100 + my exhaust. is that better incentive?
8/30/2006 11:00:33 AM
hrm yes.. getting better
8/30/2006 1:11:59 PM
like you would fucking notice a difference between a 95 and 96+ the exhausts!
8/30/2006 2:19:40 PM
.25" bigger yo. and when i get my m50 manifold that needs to floowww. plus the age. plus having the 'right' thing for my car. i can't have that '95 shit all over my '97
8/30/2006 2:44:51 PM
that makes no sense. if anything, the only thing that really has any semi-significant difference in performance would be 1. headers, 2. midpipes. you are taking off your performance exhaust to put stock back on, then adding M50 mani for performance, but worrying about 5 milimeters.
8/30/2006 3:51:35 PM
i want to race you in a straight line dan b/c you can kill me in autox heh
8/30/2006 3:56:32 PM
Since im working at BMW now and am def considering getting a used m3...so if any of you guys are interesting in selling let me know ASAP
8/30/2006 4:08:39 PM
there are little to no gains to be had w/ the aftermarket exhaust over an obdII exhaust besides weight and sound. i just want something quieter. intake manifolds dont make noise
8/30/2006 5:21:49 PM
It might be time for me to move out of M3s, I don't want people to think I'm not cool...Dan, I think you need a carbon fiber exhaust, they're a bit lighter. Ofcourse if you're so concerned with weight, you can drive around w/a few less gallons of gas in your tank.Ahmet

9/1/2006 3:56:08 AM
its an ugly car. no way around it
9/1/2006 8:00:26 AM
who cares, it performs magnificently
9/1/2006 9:44:23 AM
At the end of the day you drive a FWD based mitsubishi.
9/1/2006 6:12:55 PM
haha... 50/50 is FWD now? nice i guess i got tired of my FWD STi so i went with a FWD Mitsu with more leg room. [Edited on September 1, 2006 at 6:49 PM. Reason : fda]
9/1/2006 6:49:22 PM
FWD BASED he said.
9/1/2006 7:01:41 PM
with the 50/50 power distribution...i don't see how it can be FWD or RWD "BASED" and you cannot change that unless you get an after market center diff.
9/1/2006 7:02:38 PM
the lancer was designed to be a fwd car. like a civic. on the other hand, the subaru AWDs are all designed to be AWD cars... understand?
9/1/2006 7:04:46 PM
its motors in the wrong way.but it does have a center diff. *shrug*
9/1/2006 7:20:30 PM
ooooh...so the lancer and the evolution both have the exact same motor? damn, i should have just bought the lancer then :shrug:but coming from an owner of both the STi and the Evolution...the evolution handles a lot better...so i guess that means FWD > AWD? [Edited on September 1, 2006 at 7:38 PM. Reason : fda]
9/1/2006 7:37:24 PM
^can you read? it is based on the same platform, hence based on FWD, not FWD. much like A4 1.8T quattro is FWD based as is R32. all these cars have front biased torque distribution. gun an evo on highway and you will not be pushed, but pulled. 100% of the torque will be going to front wheels. at best it will transfer 50% of the torque to rear wheels. not more.subarus on the other hand are rear drive biased, i think 35/65% in normal driving and up to 100% of the torque to rear wheels if conditions call for.what car handles better is irrelevant to what i said. you can make any car handle well with enough money. unlike subarus, evos dont have perfect weight distribution.
9/1/2006 8:36:37 PM
as usual, you prove to be a complete moron. what don't you get about the evolution being built on the lancer platform, which was designed as FWD car? while the execution/engineering of the addition of awd may be equal to or even superior to a car derived from an awd only platform, that doesn't change the fact it's based on a fwd chassis/unibody/whatever.
9/1/2006 8:38:30 PM
ohhh in yo face rsxtypes
9/1/2006 8:40:22 PM
lol...i guess you didn't understand the 50/50 distribution...hence why you post on tww garageoh and obviously you never owned or drove an STi because you cannot put 100% torque distribution to the rear wheels...and i've 'guned' both on the highway and no it doesn't feel like a pull in either car[Edited on September 1, 2006 at 9:32 PM. Reason : fda]
9/1/2006 9:30:42 PM
9/1/2006 9:36:09 PM
^^wrong again. for all intents and purposes, the evo can and does put basically all of its power to the front wheels. in contrast, it can't put any more than 50% to the rear wheels. you're not going to be able to feel whether you're being pushed or pulled, short of breaking traction.[Edited on September 1, 2006 at 9:39 PM.
