"Saw a Maserati MC-12 sitting in the Ferrari/Maserati dealership on Park Ave last night. It was incredible!

6.0 V12
700hp
0-60 in 2.7
Only make 24-25 a year"

Not that it matters much, but the MC-12 has a slightly detuned Enzo engine (part of the agreement with Ferrari), making right around 630 hp (Enzo = 660 hp).

Also, it is slower to 60 mph than the Enzo, by about 0.1-0.2 sec. (Enzo = 3.3 sec)

"Are We A Real City Yet?

Snapped a cameraphone pic of this little number Friday afternoon on Hargett St. in Downtown Raleigh. It's a new Lamborghini Gallardo which, according to some friends who work in the area, has been spotted quite regularly down there. It's 512 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of torque will rocket you from 0-60 mph in just over 4 seconds and will leave your wallet a cool $175,000 - $195,000 lighter.

Not to be outdone, a couple of days later in the exact same block, someone else (presumably) parked a new Rolls Royce Phantom, a massive car which is nearly double the price of the Lambo ($329,000). Granted, we do have a RR dealer in Raleigh now, but it is still a bit rattling to see such a pricey car parked downtown.

So, if exotic cars can possibly be used as a gauge to measure a city's "Real City-ness," I'd say we're making some good progress!

But seriously, I mostly just wanted to post a picture of a really cool car.

I was re-stating what was posted on the placard NEXT to the MC-12 in the Ferrari dealership. But I previously had agreed with you until I saw that. Maybe they changed it for 2006/2007?

I mean not that it's totally objective, but here are the top 5 times from Top Gear's power laps:

1:17.6 – Koenigsegg CCX (w/TG wing)
1:18.4 – Pagani Zonda F
1:18.9 – Maserati MC12
1.19.0 – Enzo Ferrari
1:19.5 – Ariel Atom 2 300

Saw an older Ferarri 355 something or other on track at VIR. Also at VIR was a 997 GT3 Cup car, a 997 race car, a 996 GT2, a brand new Cayman S (delivered to the track, owned by the same dude driving the Ferrari on track)

The black Gallardo belongs to (or is possibly leased by) a bail bondsman. He won't miss an opportunity to hand you a pen or coin with his companies name on it "in case you ever get in a bind."

Working as a Valet at Ruth's Chris the Saturday before Thanksgiving i drove an '06 M5 as well as a Mustang GT-H. The M5 was AMAZING, and although I'm not going to say what I did with it, I will say that I got a pretty good taste of what it's capable of. The GT-H was only cool b/c it's the famed Hertz rental car of which there are only 500 total. The acceleration was good and it sounded nice but other than that it wasn't really anything special.

Woke up this morning, went outside to go to work, hopped in the S2000, looked ahead into the parking lot outside of my girlfriend's apartment (normally full of totally mundane cars)...and what's sitting there but a Ford GT!

I've only seen two in Tennessee period, and one was just passing through US 421 (twisty Dragon-esque road we hang out at locally) and had NC Plates. So it was pretty surreal to see one sitting there in the parking lot of my girlfriend's apartment...I mean, it's new and nice, but nothing special. I'm curious if I'll see it again.

On a side note, it was the charcoal grey color, which I've never seen in person...absolutely beautiful!

^Heheh, so true. It wasn't there this morning. You think a bigshot (that's a damned expensive car for around here) would be smart enough not to drive such a distinctive car for something like that.

$10,000. Carlyle owns it and yes he is a Bails Bondman. Put a touch screen/xm sat radio in there for him. Great looking car.

I was pleasantly surprised how much room there is inside the Elise, but it's primarily leg room and headroom in my case, I'm a skinny bastard. The seats are pretty damn narrow.

And getting in and out of the thing is the most ungraceful thing I've ever done in my life. It takes skill not to seriously injure yourself.

at cary auto-park I saw the 2007 porsche cayenne with its slightly new body style (still looks roughly the same) and also parked at the porsche dealership they had a new, silver M5 for some reason parked right beside a brand new GT3 and a Carrera 4S I think.

My all time favorite car was parked at the audi dealership just a little farther down, they finally got a 2006 audi RS4, it was the first one I've seen up there so far and I've been checking the lot once or twice a week since it came out (I work right near the autopark so for lunch break I usually take about 15 mins to drive around in the work truck) hopefully I'll remember to bring my camera and snap a few pictures. They also have another black audi looks like A4 but the normal badging was removed and had a porsche looking *turbo* emblem with factory powercoated black (to match the car) rims. Looked sick.
