So what does Vegas say about the odds of an assassination attempt when this takes place?
3/9/2018 2:37:10 PM
She said denuclearize. This was obviously done spur of the moment with no planning input from State or DoD. They haven’t a clue. It’s not happening. I thought maybe last night it would, but it won’t.

they already flip flopped on this, trump didn't realize that NK had always wanted to meet when he said yes and since trump isn't actually in control his handlers reversed this after he told SK to announce that he would meet
3/10/2018 7:55:31 AM
^ Saw that this morning, and had to do a double take to make sure I was reading it correctly.Everybody read the mechanics of what happened:White House: Never Mind the North Korea Meeting, Trump Was Just Babblinghttp://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2018/03/never-mind-the-north-korea-meeting-trump-was-just-babbling.htmlIt's surreal, really. He has zero negative (false) knowledge of international geopolitical issues, and this is the best example of it so far IIRC.A goddamn school play written and acted out by high schoolers is more well put together and watertight.[Edited on March 10, 2018 at 5:29 PM. 3/10/2018 5:27:27 PM
the worst thing that can come out of this is the status quo. They don't want trump to meet because they are afraid he will pivot us policy and make peace. they don't want him to get that credit. now you have all the folks like pocahontas coming out saying we shouldn't be talking to north korea until they denuclearize which basically means we should never try to make peace.
3/10/2018 7:15:12 PM
the crowd is so electric you would think it was 10/16 again. i too thought it would die down once he was in office. these are people we don't identify with but they are a better representation of the actual country and they are delighted with all that has happened in the last year. you would never know it from just watching the news. he's basically just talking about 2020 and staying hard on the pressWow, he's even criticizing reagan on trade. lmao he just revealed the 2020 slogan. how is it a better representation of the country? he lost the popular vote. I mean not by much but by definition he represents a minority of the country.
3/10/2018 8:17:12 PM
we've been over this. popular vote means a lot of extra people on the west coast hate him.

http://www.businessinsider.com/2016-election-results-maps-population-adjusted-cartogram-2016-11Uh, those extra people are Americans. You don't get to carve them out. He had fewer votes. He represents a minority of the country.[Edited on March 10, 2018 at 9:26 PM. Reason : a]
3/10/2018 9:23:38 PM
Why are you playing dumb about this. I know you know how the country works and why we don't go by popular vote. Look, I hate the constitution to, but it is reality. FTR, Trump won 60% of the states and 57% of the electors which represent an overwhelming majority of the country but not the majority of the total population. Again, I would love to have an independent California because I generally hate the US, but 4 million extra Californians voting for Clinton doesn't change the reality of what the country is or who it overwhelmingly elected to be its president.
3/10/2018 9:58:53 PM
When you talk about representing America, you're talking about representing the people. Fewer people voted for Trump. Trump is not a better representation of America. it's very simple arithmetic. If you had 100 people and 60 of them wanted pizza while 40 wanted sandwiches, sandwich would not be a better representation of what people want for dinner.I don't hate the Constitution.Anyway, unrelated: https://www.americanprogress.org/issues/democracy/reports/2018/02/13/446576/cracking-the-shell/

Earl is trolling and not worth an argument but 538 actually put out a study that showed the most representative town/city in the country in terms of racial and social composition is actually New Haven, CT. Only remember it because I grew up 10 miles from there.Rural PA and OH are NOT even close to representative of the country but Earl knows that.[Edited on March 11, 2018 at 9:28 AM. Reason : Lol earl is calling Warren Pocahontas now. Time to stop responding to him guys]
3/11/2018 9:26:54 AM
Right, that's a geographical statement. There's no reason New Haven CT can't be a "representation of America" if it contains the same proportion of ethnic/racial/socio-economic diversity as the nation itself.Saying Trump is a better representation of America would imply the majority of people are like him or think the way he does. That is not the case.Probably right about the trolling, though.[Edited on March 11, 2018 at 11:33 AM. Reason : a]

The country isn't dominated by or as dependent on agrarian industries as we used to be, and certain natural resources (like coal) are becoming less and less useful and not worth the risks of mining and cultivating.Conservatives don't like change and don't want to admit the world has changed. Trump preys on their fears and was elected on a promise of taking us back to the way we used to be. That's what rural PA and OH represent.
3/11/2018 1:17:15 PM
Cherokee, I agree with everything you are saying and it is only a matter of semantics. Popular vote and majority of the population is just not how the country is defined in the constitution /context of electing a president. We don't have a direct presidential election. Part of that is because we are not a nation made up of people directly like your sandwich and pizza analogy. I agree with you on how it should be but we are nation consisting of a union of states. The states are made up of people who have direct elections but each state is winner take all and electors make up the country. Republic.Trump has the majority of states and the states make up the nation. This is hidden from mainstream because the majority of the people are all concentrated along the coasts. This is why everyone else gets forgotten but still has a voice and also why trump was able to take advantage of them. They needed attention and he gave it to them. Pay attention to the types of cities his rallies are held in.

DO NOT CONGRATULATE
3/21/2018 9:25:26 AM
Brace yourselves for the whataboutisms when it comes to Stormy Daniels and Trump, vs Bill Clinton.I hate the word "whataboutism" though. We should be able to compare and contrast the situations in which the current president finds himself with past presidents, and how the two are treated differently. How is an affair with a pornstar any better or worse than an affair with a WH intern? Just asking. We have no idea how many NDA's are out there with ol' Bill's name on it. I'm just curious why people are coming down so hard on the current affair. The issue here however is going to be Trump's response. He is vehemently denying that an affair took place. If he would just own up to it, it would go away. Is the issue with the NDA itself? Are we somehow seeing this as a movement to silence women's voices?
3/22/2018 10:39:07 AM
as far as "Trump Stuff" the affair junk isn't even on my radarit's crazy that's where we're at, ain't it?
3/22/2018 10:41:31 AM
Yes. I guess with Clinton, there weren't really any other distractions. Seemed to keep his head down and eyes on the ball.I'm sure the talking heads at the time were doing their damnedest to get it ramped up. I know Hannity interviewed the ladies that claim he raped them. But there just wasn't enough there, and the rest of his presidency, as far as how well I can remember it, was pretty tame. But getting worked up over an affair - complete with a 60 Minutes interview - of a known and admitted philanderer is just a waste of time.
3/22/2018 10:44:10 AM
there is a very good chance that they broke major campaign finance law by paying her off the way that they didit’s also just another reason to never listen to evangelicals in politics ever again. they deserve to be shunned for the rest of their public lives.
3/22/2018 10:55:44 AM
^^^^the issue isn't the infidelity, it's the lying.Clinton should have been impeached and removed from office over it.Having said that, Clinton's motivation for lying is far different than Trump' s for any of his lying. So in that respect I don't judge Clinton. But in terms of lying as a President and doing so under oath, and also in terms of blackmail potential, he should have been removed from office.^and of course there is the campaign finance laws issue with Trump as well[Edited on March 22, 2018 at 11:21 AM. Reason : a]
3/22/2018 11:20:40 AM
^^I hope you aren't referring to Trump as an evangelical. Surely not. Now his evangelical followers - they should have known what they were getting into based on his past. And I agree, the lying is troublesome, but still, par for the course.
3/22/2018 11:32:39 AM
why is not fair to refer to him as that, christians and evangelicals claim him as their own
3/22/2018 11:34:01 AM
Hey, if this DOJ is going to fire McCabe for lying, then they can't really pick and choose who they get rid of can they? But I guess we need to know where to cross the line. Clinton's situation was somewhat official because the affair took place with a government employee, in a government building on government property. This particular affair (unless other details come to light) took place prior to the presidency. I don't think we should set a precedent of "well, it is blackmail material" because hell, anything could be blackmail material to the right group. If someone found out that Trump paid for an abortion that could be used as blackmail material against him for his evangelical crowd. But at the end of the day, that would be something that took place in his personal life. Should he have the option to lie about it?
3/22/2018 12:49:52 PM
Are you missing the part where Trump's associates used hush money to silence a hooker by funneling campaign funds a mere two weeks before the election? Because it's important.
3/22/2018 1:05:06 PM
I'm not missing it, but until someone can prove that is what happened, it's just a rumor. The amount of money paid to her for an NDA was chump(trump) change compared to the money that Trump has. Certainly through shell companies, etc, he could have made her a deal that wouldn't be obvious to anybody as to where the money came from. Why chance it by using campaign funds? That just seems silly. But maybe the whole shell company thing is just me watching too many movies and in real like you just can't do that mess.
