Clemson has always been a good but there is a vast difference even bw the deshaun Watson championship team and last years champ team. Clemson has had our number, even when they're down, but many of those games have been winnable.

In past years we needed to play great and some luck, now we need to play perfect and have a ton of luck. Clemsons play and recruiting has progressed to another level. It's not just this season, it's the next 10-20 seasons, maybe with a few exceptions here and there, where we can't even hope to get to the championship game.

Im an nc state fan. I want a fucking championship in something. We had chances in past years where we're rolling the dice and maybe, just maybe, we could get there, now we're rolling the dice for 2nd. 2nd in division no less.


Besides excitement is highly personal, you guys feel free to get excited about whatever you want, I'm stating my opinion.

As time passes, it become even more evident that 2017 was our chance to win the conference. A year before Trevor Lawrence is QB, we had Clemson at home, we had a veteran team, strong D, otherwise weak/down year in the conference.

I mean we've got a far better record vs fsu than clemson in my fan history, but that game vs fsu in Doerens 0-fer season was one of the few football I was intentionally skipped in my adult life.

But yes, in an average nc state pre season, I'm far more excited if there isn't an insanely dominant team to get through.

Meh. Other than Clemson every other game on our schedule is winnable on paper. No one in the Atlantic outside of Clemson is really a proven commodity and is having significant turnover. Our 2 Coastal opponents are changing staffs and schemes. Our 4 OOC games should be 3 cakewalks and 1 game that it's hard to predict, WVU lost a TON and changes coaches.

Really comes down to whether or not we find our next starting QB and if we our co-OCs can be at least close to as good as Drink was.

We have our own question marks and concerns to deal with...new QB, lost WRs, and OL, etc. But I think this could still be a fun year and because the rest of the ACC after Clemson is wide open, we could make a run for that #2 spot in the division. I know that’s not much to be excited about. But there really is only 1 sure L on that schedule.

I mean...that’s not true. We’ll see how SCar and Miami finish the season. But SCar isn’t very good this year. Miami sure didn’t look the part last night. UNC being 2-0 is impressive, no doubt. Neither is better than the Lamar Jackson team we beat in Raleigh on thursday night imo.
