I don't really disagree with what you're saying jbrick, but just stop being a dick about it.[Edited on February 3, 2011 at 5:37 PM. Reason : If the guy wants to say something nice about a signee, let him. We don't care if you disagree.]
2/3/2011 5:35:51 PM
seriously, don't you emote enough in the credibility thread?
2/3/2011 5:38:01 PM
we need to come up with a cool nickname for Baumann and Sade

Expecially when two of the other teams in our division brought in top 10 classes this year
2/3/2011 8:00:33 PM
^^ Sports Talk post of the year... logical, objective, great conclusions. We need more of this.
2/3/2011 8:07:20 PM
of course we all want every class to be top notch, i'm not that worried about this particular class because after 3 straight losing seasons, what is there for a recruit to e excited about? At least he's not blowing smoke up there ass that will be playing for 'ships in 2 years, we all saw how that worked out.Now if we start having success but recruiting doesn't pick up at the same or better level then sure, we may have a recruiting problem.
2/3/2011 8:15:26 PM
^^i find it impossible to tell if you are being sarcastic
2/3/2011 8:18:02 PM
not at all
2/3/2011 8:29:15 PM
^^^if recruits cant be excited by one of our best fball seasons ever that still ended up being disappointing, what hope do we have?^thx then

Jaybee approval is extremely rare. Print out that post, laminate it, frame it, hang it on your office wall. Then one day, far in the future, get your grandkids on your lap and tell them about it.
2/3/2011 8:44:34 PM
The class fills a huge need. Also, don't forget we'll have 4 years of players in addition to class on the field as well. This one class does not define us.No sense in getting bent out of shape on one class[Edited on February 3, 2011 at 8:50 PM. Reason : ]
2/3/2011 8:49:19 PM
I just realized CJ Wilson was on that list of notable two star recruits. Way to ruin the wrong point you were trying to make.
2/3/2011 8:57:15 PM
Beyond the MD game, I don't remember him being that bad
2/3/2011 9:06:42 PM
he was pretty bad all season honestly
2/3/2011 9:14:01 PM
i mean our secondary has been the key to pretty much all of our losses over the last few years. and with the gloom and doom, it almost seems like we didnt just have a 9 win season that was a few chokes (umd/ecu) away from playing the acc championship game and a 10-12 win season.
2/3/2011 9:24:30 PM
Our secondary will be our strength next year...especially with Smith & ByrdAnother strength will be that excuse for an offensive line you saw this year. At least, that's generally what happens the year after you start a bunch of sophmores
2/3/2011 9:46:01 PM
Butch Davis to the NCAA:

^^he just answered his own question... again? i've only been around a few years, did he used to be good?

for fuck's sake can nobody be a fan anymore?HE WAS TRYING TO SAY SOMETHING NICE ABOUT A SIGNEE. WHO CARES WHETHER IT WAS 100% GROUNDED IN REALITY. STOP BEING A DEBBIE DOWNER ABOUT EVERYTHING.
2/4/2011 10:58:41 AM
I'm not worried about recruiting improving in 2012. We had a good, winning season this year and finished the season ranked. Stronger recruiting classes usually are 1 year delayed from the winning season. TOB said it himself:
2/4/2011 11:04:43 AM
I think Clemson is about to steal Clowney from the gamecoots. That could put Clemson in the top 5...ACC recruiting is on the upswing, that's for sure. i think TOB will see the fruits of 2010 next year. we'll see what happens...
2/4/2011 11:13:01 AM
also, have we recruited this kid?
2/4/2011 11:27:40 AM
Don't count on it
2/4/2011 11:32:00 AM
^ bingo. This kid can go anywhere he wants. I think he has SEC written all over him.
2/4/2011 11:38:09 AM
Yeah no interest in us. He's SEC-bound.
2/4/2011 11:43:05 AM
Maybe if we won the ACC next year and went to a BCS bowl that might at least get us into the conversation.
2/4/2011 11:43:32 AM
oh, i know its not realistic. it would just be great to sign a 5-star all american hometown kid.
2/4/2011 11:49:52 AM
It's not out of the question. Toney Baker played in the Army All-American Game.
2/4/2011 11:56:11 AM
2/4/2011 1:59:03 PM
I think if get the the ACC Championship game we could have a chance at a big time running back next year. We have a really deep OL platoon and if they can prove that they can run block for Mustafa, ....
2/4/2011 2:23:03 PM
^ yes, its the OL & DL prospects that get my hopes up more than any skill positions
2/4/2011 2:24:08 PM
^It's the OL and DL prospects that really begin a solid team. A great line can make an ok running back look fantasticand great QB can make average receivers look like NFL prospectsand the defensive backfield can get away with being more marginal as the defensive line can get better and better pressure on the opposing QB without the need for high risk blitzes etc...They are the unsung heroes of football, don't hate
2/4/2011 2:40:03 PM
2/4/2011 2:40:24 PM
wow, the early news on 2012 looks really promising still. Also looks like, potentially, we may be experiencing the cyclic nature of in-state recruiting wins. A lot of the elite North Carolina talent has us as early favorites. Whereas last year, it was all UNC.... UNCCHeat
2/8/2011 1:31:15 PM
are there any freshman that redshirted this year that should see some decent mins next year? creecy? teal? box? underwood?
2/8/2011 1:41:41 PM
I have a feeling that Teal will not only see the field but be a solid contributor. He's big and really fast for a DT.I would imagine Underwood plays but i'm also excited to see Tobias Palmer
2/8/2011 2:23:19 PM
^^^where are you seeing who has us as early favorites in 2012?
2/8/2011 2:32:31 PM
I don't know about Teal. He has Sweezy, Slay, Kuhn, and Cato-Bishop all playing ahead of him. Unless he's some 'diamond in the rough' phenomenon, I see him making more of an impact in 2012.The RS freshmen that I've got on the two-deep for 2011 are Chandler, Box, and Brosius. Everyone else is 3rd string and/or special teams.Underwood could possibly be used in spot duty as a slot receiver. Tobias Palmer will be a RS junior.
2/8/2011 3:05:03 PM
the early reports on pp are just more positive for this year than they were last year (where they were really bad and a lot of kids liked unc early and we saw how that played out)We already have 2 commits, a couple other big names who are heavily interested in us and might commit early (Dan Beilinson and K'Hadree Hooker), a couple BIG TIME recruits who we have a shot at thanks to family ties (Noah Spence and Avery Young) and a lot of OL targets that like us. It just has the makings of a good class early. Also add in that Fre'shad Hunter should be on target to graduate from Georgia Military and rejoin us if everything works out...
2/8/2011 5:48:08 PM
one of torian box's 3 "strengths" on scout include "nasty streak".
2/8/2011 8:41:48 PM
The first thing that stood out to me when I saw Box's film was his footwork.
2/8/2011 8:51:50 PM
damnit. I just watch 2010 highlights. Good stuff. Bring on 2011. Is it too early to get excited?
