planning to see them here in July.

saw Between the Buried and Me again last night. kind of crazy to think about the fact they have been around for 18 years now.

caught Cigarettes After Sex twice yesterday, both within walking distance from our place. Can't complain.

wow has it really been 18 years, wow I feel old...

saw Lightning Bolt at King's on saturday night, that was pretty gnar.

Eyehategod w/ Cromags and Buzzoven at Pour House on wed, should be good.

Did anyone happen to catch Cigarettes After Sex on Good Friday? If you missed it I'm jealous. One of the most obnoxious crowds and worst shows I've ever seen there out of easily 500-600. First time I've left a show during an encore maybe ever?

was it just the crowd or the show? I've seen them 3 times in the last 6 months and really enjoyed all of them. Though the first half of the first show last year a lot of people were talking during their set and it really pissed me and a lot of other people off. After a few people yelled and the band addressed the people arguing, it really quieted down.

It was mostly the crowd. I've never seen a more disrespectful crowd almost everyone in the entire venue was talking during the songs except the people up on the stage. All of their songs are pretty quiet obviously... I was surprised they didn't stop the show and tell the crowd to shut the fuck up.

ugh that sucks. I can understand though - the first show I saw them probably would have been unenjoyable if people hadnt ended up being quiet. I think the only reason the band said anything was that so many people were yelling in between songs for the talkers to shut up, which resulted in some back and forth and fighting so the band finally said something.

I don't understand why people pay to go see a band like that and then just talk the whole time. Sigur Ros came through last year and the talkers just about ruined that show for me.

i had a similar experience when i saw them in charlotte. the show could have been great if the crowd would have just shut the fuck up.

Lauryn Hill @ Red Hat on July 26th, wonder if she'll show?

I'm really looking forward to David Byrne @ DPAC in a few weeks.

Can anyone remember off the top of their head the beer prices at Red Hat? What are the cheapest and most expensive? Going to The National tomorrow and trying to figure out how much to take out.

Agreed Alvvays was one of the best shows I've seen in a while. Frankie Rose was great too. The National was badass Tuesday great week of shows around RDU.

Went to Shaky Knees this weekend

Great
Greta Van Fleet (really mature sound)
The National
Queens of the Stone Age
David Byrne (played a bunch of Talking Heads songs with a full rehearsed dance performance)

Good
Cake (talked too much)
The War and Treaty
Nathaniel Rateliff
Manchester Orchestra
*repeat repeat

Disappointing
The War on Drugs (sounds just like their albums)
The Voidz

He's at DPAC this week. I read where it was a 12-piece band and he said this is the most ambitious show since the Stop Making Sense Tour... it's going to be awesome

The David Byrne show was f'n incredible, best show I'd been to in a long time, so much fun.

About half the songs were old Talking heads songs, about 1/4 were off the new albumt and 1/4 were other solo songs.

It’s not terrible, just nothing added to the live experience and there wasn’t a ton of energy in the performance (because that’s their music). I like them just was disappointed.

^^im strongly considering seeing him in Atlanta in October now

^Check out some footage on youtube to see if you're into it... but i was really impressed. I saw some recent performances on the talk shows and he seemed kinda old and tired, so I was a little leary about how the show would be, but I thought it was incredible, and I think most of the crowd agreed.

^^i would agree but starting with half light II which is one of my favorite tracks from the suburbs. I was real close to the back stage where regine and win were during reflektor and we don’t deserve love. Awesome show.
