what a long session.what wild turns.never have i ever had a night where i dropped 1k in a 10/20 game, only to go on a wicked rush at a table full of complete maniacs and make 1400 in a 10/20 lhe game in less than an hour, inlcuding losing a dream scenario hand where is 5 way capped preflop ive got aces, against AK, KK, and flop a set of aces. final pot was over $700. in 10/20.lost to a guy who chased a gutshot the whole way down, including 3 betting 46o into 4 callers of the raise.yikes.stories tommorow, some hands, and being nicknamed due to a stupid rounders quote by a player whom all of you probably will recognize and really dislike. i really disliked him too due to his wsop 2006 air times, but he was awesome to be at a table with when hes just drinking and pissing around playing 10/20 half kill hi/lo two way. really enjoyed him and my thoughts about the guy have been spun 180 degrees.

7/23/2006 10:37:05 PM
Well sure, but I've never posted the hand and been like "hey guys, look at me, I am a mooooooooooooron."

played in the borgata tournament today100+20, no rebuy with an optional $100 addon.8 tables full of players.finished 16th, top 10 paying. was pretty happy to make it to the 5th hour withouot seeing AK, AQ, AJ once.heres a situation i ran into when i departed the tournament.everyone is getting shallow, we just broke to two tables left probably 20 minutes prior to this. people are dropping like flies as the average stack is small compared to the blinds.blinds just went up to 2k/4k with a 500 chip ante.ive got ~28,000 chips, and dwindling fast.folds around to us in the SB, we've got 6c 6s.what is our move?4k+2k+8*500 = 10k in the pot.if we go by harrington, i think i made the right play, i just want to see what everyone else would do.
7/23/2006 11:44:15 PM
you pushed, you had to, the 10k in the pot is over 1/3 of your stack[Edited on July 23, 2006 at 11:50 PM. Reason : ,]
7/23/2006 11:49:30 PM
just checking. i win the bad timing award, bb says "i havent even looked yet, and ive got more chips than you by a thousand-ish............... im sorry, ive got to call. i have jacks."balls.i did like floping a gutshot straight draw however, only not to improve. damn close.. damn close.
7/23/2006 11:55:08 PM
7/23/2006 11:56:49 PM
oddly enough, everyone was so shallow, that if i would have won that, i would have been in the top 3 in chips.i liked the tournament though, the structure was pretty good for a regular tournament.the dealers and tournament manager however, were horrible tonight.yo boobs hit me up with that USPC schedule[Edited on July 23, 2006 at 11:59 PM. on a side note, non poker story.saw the most ridiculous thing ever at a craps table last night.guy runs the board across on a $10 table.so the point was i think a 9, so he had a $10 place bet on the 4, 5, 10 with $12 place bets on the 6 and 8.long story short, hes pressing ridiculously hard, and the shooter is hitting lots of numbers.the 4 pays 2:1 i think, and it was hitting a whole lot.he ended up having the table max of $5,000 on the 4 from the starting $10.7 out. thanks for coming out.[Edited on July 24, 2006 at 9:31 AM. I swear I can't do shit with AA$20k tourney on pokerroomon the button with AA, 3rd hand of the night, someone bets 500, I go all-in, one caller, original raiser foldsguy has 7d9d, catches straight on river. rebuy for $203 hands later, on the BB, get AA again. a few limpers, then another guy goes all in.I call, he's got JJcatches a J on the river. AA is the new AK. at least for me.
7/24/2006 9:16:42 PM
I stopped reading here: "pokerroom"36o is better than AA there[Edited on July 24, 2006 at 9:20 PM. Reason : p]
7/24/2006 9:20:10 PM
really, what's the scoop on that?
7/24/2006 9:23:04 PM
my kryptonite is KKI always seem to lose with KK to a nut straight/flush draw no matter how aggresively I bet it
7/24/2006 9:26:48 PM
Its a stupid theory of mine. It hits a lot, watch. they like to come together (like 8 and 4 on my table)Probably not more than anything else, but it just caught my attention one night, and i won some big pots playing it, and named it the "pokerroom".I just looked back through some of the old posts of mine from like a year ago in here, looking for 36 discussion (I remember discussing it breifly) and i want to apologize for the utter stupidity for a lot of my original posts in this thread. Not that discussing the 36 here is better, but I was really dumb then.[Edited on July 24, 2006 at 9:37 PM. Reason : .]

such a disappointing night...had almost 35k after the rebuy period in the stars $5r and was top 10 or so only to donk it off a few hours later for a small cashdidnt win a hand from hand 145 to 220...combination of being card dead and playing too weak/tight with my big stack...arggggplaying with a huge chip lead is something i REALLY need to work on
7/24/2006 11:05:52 PM
Ok, so I just got back from Vegas w/ unremarkable results (played WSOP $2K NLH and $1.5K Razz - no cashes). There is a razz hand I have to share. This is early in the $1.5K Razz tourney, $5 ante, $10 bring-in, $20 complete, $40 on 5th. Hand does not involve me (thank god). The only real dead money @ the table is the bring-in w/ a K. It folds all the way to the player on his right who has a no brainer completion w/ an A up. Long story short, decent player bets on every street and ends up w/ a board of A234 and is called on every street by donkey w/ K8Q3. Of course the decent player turns up A23344K for a K low at the end of the hand and loses to the donkey's Q low... LOL.I love razz, but I swear it can be the most frustrating game on the planet.

^ thats great.to all you rising poker players, who go to AC.if you see my in the bathroom standing at the urinal, dont come up and use the one right beside me and look at me and tell me how your flopped broadway got snapped on the river to a flush draw and you lost your $95 stack in your 1/2 game.i really dont care. thanks.
7/25/2006 2:48:52 PM
make that anywherei dont care about your bad beat because half of the time you could have prevented it by playing differently and the other half is the variance that makes up the game you are playing
7/25/2006 3:11:55 PM
think its a good day to drive to the borgata.
7/25/2006 4:18:59 PM
is that a question?

I dunno how anyone else feels, but some of these statements are bullshit. I see people on here who routinely feel like they have to degrade other people's game simply because it isn't for as high of stakes as they play for. I'm actually not trying to single you out Ben, this is the first time I've noticed you doing it. The simple fact is, as a general rule, the size of your bankroll doesn't equate to your skill level. There are idiots at every level of play, just like there are really good players at every level of play. This thread is intended for discussion on poker, not discussions on how cool you think you are because you play at high limit tables. I am sure the pros wouldn't think that a 5/10 game was that big of a deal when compared with some of the games they play.On a side note, I would agree to keeping the freeroll and/or play money stories in a seperate thread. Those games are ridiculous.
7/25/2006 10:09:12 PM
i degrade people's game because they keep on getting pissed when people do stupid shit against them at low limitsthat and when people post hands that they misplay or shouldnt play in the first place and get mad when some other idiot draws out on them
7/25/2006 10:31:00 PM
boobs, not all of us are as good as you... instead of getting mad, why not explain why we were wrong... if we keep doing it, then get mad... otherwise whats the point of posting to a poker forum if you only post when you are expected to only post correctly played hands or bitched at by others?
7/25/2006 10:46:10 PM
it ends up being the same people over and over though, and most of the time i dont really rip into people unless I am in a bad mood at work or having just gotten done playing a long session, ie this post:
7/25/2006 10:51:10 PM
yeah... i'm not going to lie... i rofl at some of the hands playedthe only time i play junk is when i'm on the button and get low suited connectors... i'm a sucker for them.or if i have a factor of 10 higher then the rest of the table in chips cause then if i hit anything at all i can probably buy the pot.the thing is though... i know the holes in my game and keep them on a leash....now i just need to get some real money to play with and i'll be straight.[Edited on July 25, 2006 at 10:56 PM. 7/26/2006 12:34:37 AM
i was playing with some friends once (not for money) and got tired of playing so i just went all in and played that hand face down, i got a straight flush and won that hand, then tried to play seriously and lost everything shortly there after
7/26/2006 12:47:19 AM
ok, strategy talk...we're in an online mtt with a good stack arund the 1st break (or whenever) and flopped an Open-Ended Straight Flush draw... How do y'all normally handle such a hand? Draw or Bet?
