Getting an email from Legal that you may have to testify in a lawsuit brought by a former coworker (previously mentioned in this thread) who was fired and is claiming wrongful termination and disability discrimination. For the suck.[Edited on April 29, 2013 at 8:06 PM. Reason : ]

Oh hey, our QA team really sucks and hasn't tested jack shit for the past two weeks, so we can't release from the current code branch. Can you check in all of your shit from the past week into the previous branch which has been mostly tested so we can release it? Oh, and good luck merging it into that branch, because whoever created it fucked up the branch by just adding a folder and copying in the latest code instead of actually using the "branch feature." Oh, and all of your working copies that were based off of that old branch are now worthless. Thanks!

The project team that is using the flex workspace next to our team (on the other side of a freestanding partition that blocks no sound) is noisy.
4/30/2013 1:21:10 PM
I think the QA team sucks at every company...

i received an e-mail at 12:59pm asking that i turn something in via fax or email by 12:00pm. it wouldn't be so if this didn't happen on a regular basis
4/30/2013 2:03:00 PM
I often receive requests that have a "to be completed by" or "target date" of the day previous to when I received it. I'm not sure if the fault lies with our tracking system, our offshored service desk, or the users themselves.
4/30/2013 3:22:37 PM
love when someone complains about aspects of their job that are the very basic everyday things. dammit. get a new job.

Then stop putting multiple defects in the same damn bug!!!
4/30/2013 4:28:34 PM
Look, if the defects present the same we're likely to think they're the same.If your error handling/messaging were better we'd have an easier time distinguishing between problems.
4/30/2013 4:55:33 PM
Spending two days getting our plant ready for an important visitor only to have the important visitor call about an hour before they are supposed to arrive and reschedule for next week. Fuck that noise!
4/30/2013 5:03:22 PM
^i fucking hate when they go crazy with the cleaning and painting b/c some upper echelon dillweed is coming. homeboy shows up and thinks we don't do shit except clean and paint. take him around and show him all the broke shit we can't get fixed.
4/30/2013 5:06:54 PM
Psh. Same defect on two different pages should result in two different bugs.
4/30/2013 5:27:56 PM
Just make it policy to ALWAYS open new bugs for issues.

Textbook reps annoy the ever living fuck out of me.Please DO NOT stalk me by waiting to ambush me after my class or wait for me outside my office when I'm holding office hours so you can try to hawk your overpriced, outdated, worthless company's book, when I've stated in emails that I've already went with another publisher.
5/2/2013 11:01:06 AM
User: This ticket is critical! This has to be fixed ASAP!Me: Okay what's the problem? Which server?User: The problem's with out NTP server. The time is off and it's making all workstations sync the wrong time.Me: Okay, okay. Let me take a look. User: I can't have the time off by 2 minutes across the board! Yeah, critical, immediate attention. The same priority as a site-wide outage.

Getting betrayed is pretty annoying
5/2/2013 12:16:44 PM
eh, not my workplace, but oh well:I had to deal with the most thorough notary public today... she read every. single. word. throughout the document. then she went back through it, asking me if I had each required item with me. I neglected to have 1 item, out of many, which I was going to go get next. keep in mind, that it has no bearing on her signing/stamping; it's just listed as needed in the package. so I have to leave and go get said item; then return. so I do that. she. starts. the. fuck. over. reads through it again. then goes back and asks me if I have each item (repeating what she already has asked from the first attempt). we get done with that. then she sits and reads the notary part (where she stams/signs)... for about 2-3 minutes... literally, several minutes reading something that is almost always the same on any document. Then she asks me if I have any questions. Then she asks for ID. Then she asks if all information is true. Then she starts to finally do her part. She. gets. my. name. wrong. even. while. looking. at. my. ID. and. typed. name. on. the form. So she stares at her mistake for 2 minutes. Finally, she marks through it and puts her initials, then makes the correction. She then proceeds to write the date incorrectly... she stares at that for 2 minutes. then moves on. she then picks up her seal and stares at me. then says, oath or affirmation? I was like, wat? just sign the damn form. she says "oath or affirmation"; I say I don't care, affirmation. She puts down her seal, gets out a book, and 2 minutes later, she's reading an affirmation I say yes, and we're ready to seal! but only after she reads back through the notary part again.holy. shit.

Old guy at work who refuses to pee in the urinals. Always has to go in the stall and lock the door. Then, when I go to take a dump sometimes, there's trickle on the seat
5/3/2013 2:57:08 PM
Pull that old fucker aside and say, "If you winkle when you tinkle, please be neat, and wipe the seat."
5/3/2013 3:00:48 PM
I really want to say "Aren't you a little old to be shy about peeing in a urinal? There's even a privacy wall between the urinals." But I'm afraid he might have some condition or something.

Just got back after vacation and before lunch 2 things annoyed the shit out of me.1) Women - there are some cool technical ones, but then there are ones that I have no idea how they got where they are and they ask a ridiculous amount of questions about work that THEY are supposed to own. Then they tear up in meetings saying that people always seem to talk down to them....2) "Oh, hey, we got this big project going through testing right now.... Could you redirect all of your teams servers to our new dev instance so we can test from your end today...?" My response: ...... No. Reasons: a) You don't test things from our end, we do b) What project? You never said a word about a project impacting my team c) We got our own shit going on that we are testing and you may have fucked it up by not making us aware of your changes d) Don't contact me directly, there should be at least 3 other people you speak to before THEY bring it to my attention
5/8/2013 11:35:34 AM
I'm so glad new guy next to me with no concept of an inside voice works from home 3 days a week now

Often it feels like I speak a different language to my manager and vice versa when it comes to explaining problems and issues. I'm not sure if it's just because he is older (in his 50s) or expects me to be an expert even though I've only been in this career for a little over 2 years, but it is very frustrating to me when he doesn't get to the point of what I need to do. Most of the time he refers to technical documents for me to read in order to figure out something, but those tend to be very vague and I have a hard time concentrating when reading elaborate, very dull documents.
