3 cashes for over $1k each online today ($1,100 for 11th in $109r, $1500 for ~70th in $1,000 tourney on Titan Poker (sick overlay there - was $1 million guaranteed and they got 568 players), and $2,100 for 6th in Paradise's $500)... also cashed in the $200 $200k guar. on UB and the $200 $150k guar. on Paradise along with a few other smaller cashes. So all total on the day online (just playing tourneys)... I lost $320. C'est la vie.

^ i was railing your dise and stars tournaments...that was a sick turn card when you got knocked out of the disealso, what was your reasoning to only raising to 21k and leaving yourself with 15k in the stars hand you went out on? was there a reason not to just open shove there?

i want to punch myself for going back to borgata yesterday after the awesomeness that was friday night.=(go from running so hot to soooo cold.... was getting good starting hands, playing well, just couldnt have anything hold up on the river for 8 hours straight.kind of an interesting story here too, one that youll make fun of me for, considering how i preach roll management and playing in your game yada yada yada.well, as an exercise of something i dont know, i decided last sunday to only take $200 and turn that into a playable roll for my ac ventures.sunday -> thursday, had managed to run it into about 1k.started off at a 1/2 nl, when i got up to 400, ->6/12 lhe get up to 800 -> 10/20 lhe, been stagant there for a bit.firday night had ~900 on me to start, got into a nice 10/20 game, ran well. up to 1700. bought into a 20/40 game. up to 2100.blew off 800 playing craps like a total degenerate, back to 1300.back to 20/40.up to 2400 in 2 hours.was running so hot. like, having the proverbial AA vs AK on a AK2 board hot.went home.went back last night, in 6 hours had aces lose 7 consecutive times, and kings lose all three times i had them.flopped 3 sets to lose every single pot, yikes.managed a 25 BB loss for the afternoon.blehhhhhh.not running hot anymore, thats for sure.
7/17/2006 9:10:02 AM
i have a feeling im gonna win this tourney tonight

but.. but.. aren't you afraid of looking silly if they push and you have to fold?
7/19/2006 12:53:44 AM
have to fold? lol... u know i'm not folding there no matter what the rest of the action is on the hand... pre or post flop
7/19/2006 3:01:25 AM
oh I thought that was referring to a continuation bet you made whilst missing the flop, thus you wouldn't want a call. surely you could fold K high or an underpair to the board despite having just bet half your chips.
7/19/2006 2:53:00 PM
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, since I didn't see the hand he was talking about earlier.
7/19/2006 2:55:23 PM
7/19/2006 3:11:41 PM
M push?
7/19/2006 3:22:11 PM
wow... whatever works for youbut i don't play like that at all.but thanks for the insight on another style of play.
7/19/2006 3:46:36 PM
^ i dont think that players playing freerolls will be on a high enough thought level for turner's play to work anyway.
7/20/2006 8:42:32 AM
playing in a $15k tournament yesterday on pokerroom (only have the java client, so i couldn't save the transrcipt).I'm on the BB with about 20K in chips and get AAUTG bets 5k and everyone else folds back to me. I raise to 10k, and he goes all-in, and I call.He shows 88flop comes 8A8.I'm done but at least I was in the money...
7/20/2006 9:55:05 AM

Turner raises to $8,000 from under-the-gun and Josh Van Duyn re-raises to $20,000 and Turner calls which puts himself all-in. Turner shows 8diamondJdiamond and Van Duyn has AclubQclub. The flop is 7club4diamond3heart and Turner is still good. The turn is an Adiamond and now Van Duyn has the lead. The river is a 4heart and Turner is eliminated in 25th place cashing in for $6,436.AhahahahaTheo Tran's Falling StackTheo Trans large chip stack has fallen over onto the floor. Floormen rush over to collect his chips and he is no longer allowed to stack his chips higher than 30. [Edited on July 20, 2006 at 9:25 PM. Reason : ]

7/21/2006 2:32:31 AM
haha, Theo did have those damn things stacked so high!I love how it says I'm still ahead with my J high against AQ on 347 flop.
7/21/2006 5:57:30 AM
Yeah, I noticed that too. Figured they would correct it shortly, but never saw it change.
7/21/2006 8:14:01 AM
So in reading various poker books, they all advise record keeping. Do y'all keep records? What stats to you record? How do you organize it?
7/21/2006 8:32:44 AM
I used to keep track of my hourly rate when I was playing a lot. I would just check all the website balances after I finished and then record them in excel. If you want to track hands you play I would suggest poker tracker. I know a number of people on here use it. Personally I fucking hate the invention. I've had people call out exact stats on me at a table and it really kills my game. That's why I usually bounce from site to site and switch usernames from time to time.
7/21/2006 8:35:52 AM
I keep track of every SNG, MTT and ring game session in an excel spreadsheet. I also use poker tracker, but I find it better and more reliable to just log sessions in excel. By record keeping you can find holes in your game and find which games you are most profitable. Let me know and I can send you a copy of the excel template I use.
7/21/2006 8:47:52 AM
the most important part of record keeping is for taxation reasons.keeping statistical analysis is for your game (ie, pokertracker)
7/21/2006 9:56:20 AM
How many do we have for tomorrow? What is the buy in for the cash game? Do you have change or do I need to get some smaller bills for tomorrow?
7/21/2006 10:02:42 AM

7/21/2006 10:04:18 AM

7/21/2006 10:08:49 AM

7/21/2006 10:15:52 AM
i am paying for my buy in with spare change.
7/21/2006 10:23:41 AM
Oh, I please hope you are joking. We used to have a guy that really did that.
7/21/2006 10:36:56 AM
Damn, weekend rates are 150. WTF is the normal rate?
7/21/2006 10:37:20 AM
most of the change is rolled, so itll be easy to count.
7/21/2006 10:39:17 AM

7/21/2006 10:43:34 AM
