not trying to sound racist, but there are way too many token black people in the show now.

^ I believe she assumed Beth had been killed in the prison attack?
11/30/2014 11:37:22 PM
that was the impression I got, she didn't realize she had survived the prison, but then when they met up with Daryl and he let them know that she was taken up, she wasn't terribly motivated to find out what happened

BlackJesus is actually right. the whole cast should have been black really. I'm not saying there are no white people in Atlanta, all I'm saying those that are there are going to a Georgia Tech game. I'm saying if there was a world wide zombie apocalypse Atlanta would be the only city with alive people. Nothing would change. life as usual. ....oh so they didn't kill Darryl?
12/1/2014 7:43:01 AM
just imagine if this show was actually pitched with an all black cast? How many ppl would actually watch it? Nationwide? How hard would AMC laugh that ass out the building? it MUST have a white Protagonist and they MUST show him as the alpha male leader.
12/1/2014 7:47:18 AM
RIP That's silent clock worthy right there.
12/1/2014 8:45:42 AM
Really hated the whole Beth storyline and thought it was a space filler to drag the season out. I mean what really happened after the Terminus/Hunters storyline was wrapped up?We split the group up.Eugene revealed his big secret.Gabriel did dumb stuff.Beth got killed.Bring the group back together and add Noah. That was the summation of what happened this season. What a great start to really have it drag to the midseason finale, really was hoping for more after it started so well.Hopefully when they get on the road in the 2nd half of the season we'll start losing some people to thin the group some. I mean we lost Bob and Beth this season...very "meh" on both fronts. We added Gabriel and Noah...also very "meh".[Edited on December 1, 2014 at 9:23 AM. Reason : w]

So lemme get this straight. We wasted nearly a third of a season rescuing a character that we don't care about, only to kill her in the last episode. ^Is right, the only forward motion we get from half a season is the realization that Eugene was lying. That's it.[Edited on December 1, 2014 at 9:37 AM. Reason : ^]
12/1/2014 9:36:56 AM
and some character building... rick's trigger finger has gotten very twitchy this season.
12/1/2014 9:41:51 AM
I liked it. Sometimes I really wonder if some of yall are basically expecting a video game with a straight hour of zombie slaying. But it's a drama.
12/1/2014 10:02:53 AM
^I guess because I know the great storylines from the comics and really wish they'd stick to more of those. I get wanting to make different storylines and add new characters, just wish they'd do a better job making them worth investing 4-5 episodes on.That's also another problem, the comic does SUCH a better job of character development and chemistry/relationships within the group. If this is a drama, why does it completely shy away from all of that? If you want to spend 2-3 episodes "developing" characters, I'm fine with it, just do it in a more meaningful way. We could have developed their characters while the group was heading towards Washington or at least moving down the road.
12/1/2014 10:20:52 AM
It seems that a lot of people on here always want them to be "moving" towards a destination.
12/1/2014 10:25:31 AM
12/1/2014 10:33:55 AM
^agreed.
12/1/2014 11:09:24 AM
Predictions for new characters in the 2nd half of the season?I'm going with Bunk Moreland, Kima Greggs and Herc as another priest
12/1/2014 12:29:29 PM
lol Gabriel is such an idiot. When he snuck out of the church I thought he was doing it because he felt like he was a burden to the rest of the group. NOPE. Dude can't even take a single step without stepping on a nail. He's obviously not fit to fight. Eugene doesn't bring much to the table but at least he stays out of the way and doesn't mess things up. Gabriel just makes things worse. So he needed to see the leg? Did he think they were lying when they said those folks were cannibals? The ones that broke into the church with guns and were gonna shoot a little baby?
12/1/2014 12:54:34 PM
12/1/2014 12:58:43 PM
I hope everyone continued to watch alllllllllll the way to the end, past the credits and past the preview for the 2nd half of the season
12/1/2014 4:19:37 PM
you mean to see Morgan find the map to a dead end plan?
12/1/2014 4:41:23 PM
exactly
12/1/2014 4:43:42 PM
Yeah, Mogan's appeared twice after the credits now... I assume he'll show up in the mid-season premier? Maybe?
12/1/2014 4:45:14 PM
still depends. We still never really learned how far behind the group he was in terms of distance/time or who was making the markings on the trees that led him to Terminus and to the church (unless i totally missed the answer to the latter). I imagine the premiere will be "bury Beth, mourn, conflict between group on where to go next". IIRC, there was a line in the spring preview that was something like "we're only 100 miles away, we should at least go there and see". Did anyone else pick that up?
12/1/2014 4:54:26 PM
True. IIRC, Morgan looked scruffier in his second appearnce than his first. And no, I don't think they ever revealed where the tree markings were coming from.Yep, I got the "100 miles" comment. Their next Terminus.
12/1/2014 5:07:28 PM
Weak finale and arc overall. What the fuck was she thinking she was going to do with that tiny ass pair of scissors? Nobody would have done what she did in that situation, not with all the guns in a tiny enclosed hallway. It was not believable.
12/1/2014 6:50:44 PM
eh, i took it as she was pissed about the chick cop taking Noah back and kinda saw red. we got to see her grow to be a strong woman who wasn't gonna take the bitch's shit anymore.
12/1/2014 8:31:14 PM
12/1/2014 8:58:45 PM
I kind of saw Beth's death scene as suicide by cop. I think it was a combination of her still not quite being able to cope with the necessities of what life in a zombie apocalypse required and, as someone a few posts up said, seeing red at the whole Noah stand-off and doing something irrational. I'm not sure of those two mindsets can co-exist, but I'm struggling to come up with a better answer for why she did what she did.
12/1/2014 9:44:17 PM
Overall I really enjoyed this season so far, I would have enjoyed it more if the walking dead Facebook page didn't fucking spoil this weeks episode before I saw it. None of my friends post spoilers on there so I am not really worried to go on social media before I watch the episode but then I log on and there is a big "RIP Beth" staring me in the face. What the fuck AMC?
12/1/2014 9:58:02 PM
^^ I can see the whole 'seeing red' and just losing her shit, but she also put those scissors in her cast in case shit went down, which to me implied she gave the idea of everything going wrong some real forethought. And I know that she really liked Noah and he helped her out along the way and took a beating for her, but.... I dunno, I still think her character would have played it better. The writers built her up to be an unsuspecting badass who was quick on her feet and could talk her way and think her way out of many problems she ran into with other people, and then that.oh well, I still enjoyed her going out in a somewhat heroic manner :/[Edited on December 1, 2014 at 10:13 PM. It's not a fucking spoiler after the episode has aired. If you DVR and watch later, it's up to you to stay off social media. Y'all are fucking ridiculous.
12/2/2014 8:08:25 AM
^
12/2/2014 8:23:37 AM
^Agreed. Although apparently AMC put that up before the west coast watched TWD, lol.
12/2/2014 8:26:33 AM
The fucked-up part of the AMC Facebook thing is they posted it at the end of the East Coast airing, so half the country couldn't have seen it yet.[Edited on December 2, 2014 at 8:29 AM. Reason : And someone else posted the same damn thing while I was typing]
12/2/2014 8:29:07 AM
^TKE-Teg spoiled your post OMFGbut yeah, posting something that early seems too soon... especially in this day and age of DVR.
12/2/2014 8:53:16 AM
West Coasters should be used to this by now. this isn't the first time and won't be the last.
12/2/2014 9:05:47 AM
I'll agree with the idea that you should stay away from certain stuff on social media if you don't want a spoiler, I have more of a problem with big web pages posting shit right on their front page.Yahoo routinely posts show recaps right on their front page the day after a show airs, usually with a title that gives you enough information to figure out what happened. I shouldn't have to avoid Yahoo and The Daily Beast and shit like that just because I couldn't make time to watch a show on the day it first airs.
12/2/2014 10:09:33 AM
when I have had to watch a show on DVR the day after or so, I have shut myself out of social mediaits not that hard folks(how bad are the spoilers going to be when rick fights the motorcycle gang in SC?)
12/2/2014 10:12:34 AM
Yep, no social media for me until I watch the episode. Same thing for State games if I can't watch them live.
12/2/2014 10:13:59 AM
12/2/2014 10:31:44 AM
What about when people spoil the ending of a movie? (Bruce Willis was dead!)What about when people spoil the ending of a book? (Snape kills Dumbledore!)These are both things that most people agree are dick moves. Why is it different than TV now that DVR's are ubiquitous?
12/2/2014 11:32:57 AM
12/2/2014 11:47:13 AM
^no it's not.^^ but television has and always will be centered around that next day "water cooler" discussion. Even with DVR it's as much of a live event as any sporting event. Now if scheduled programming ever ceased to exists and people were responsible for watching what they wanted and when it may be different. But much like we can't ask ESPN to hold off showing headlines on a dramatic championship game immediately after it's conclusion I don't think it's fair to expect EW, TV Guide, TV Line, Yahoo, etc to hold off on doing the same with an important cultural thing like TWD only to protect a small percentage of those that couldn't or chose not to watch when it happened.
12/2/2014 12:12:34 PM
How small of a percentage is it though? I almost never watch it until the next day (and yes, i actively avoid places online likely to have spoilers)
12/2/2014 12:24:31 PM
I avoid obvious things that have spoilers but they shouldn't post the spoiler in the fucking headline. Post it in an article. They have never done that before so why should I expect them to do it now? Plenty of people watch things the next day since basically everyone has a DVR, it's not that fucking hard to not post spoilers in such a blatant manner. If it can from a friend or other source I would get it but the official AMC page should know better.
12/2/2014 12:44:16 PM
i agree with the sports analogy. you can expect spoilers in headlines as long as tv is not in an a la carte format. you expect espn to say "Super Bowl __ Recap" and not some witty headline with the winners in the title?its funny people say things like "I almost never watch it until the next day" and "Plenty of people watch things the next day since basically everyone has a DVR" as a blanket statement for everyone in the damn country.
