Wow. Missed the duck thing. I hope the jury is paying attention and realizes that every scenario that the prosecution brings up is pure speculation.
4/28/2011 9:44:22 AM
She even said, "Why would I think some ducks would be part of the trial?" when initially asked
4/28/2011 9:44:36 AM
They actually showed that clip on WRAL last night. So now everyone knows it was bullshit. What did websleuths have to say about that little bit?

Did anyone catch the part yesterday where Brad Cooper's mom said that the Brad's BMW had been given to his lawyers as payment?
4/28/2011 9:54:08 AM
^yea I was like dang I feel so bad for that guy
4/28/2011 9:55:08 AM
pretty much all of his stuff was given away as payment. that's how they found the ducks...JA had them in her office
4/28/2011 9:55:35 AM
Jessica Adam had the ducks? I thought she was the one who told the police that the ducks were missing, and the ducks were actually in Kurtz's office.

it boggles my mind that these armchair detectives with no qualifications are allowed to go over in detail exactly what they think may have happened, but the testimony of legitimate expert witnesses gets suppressed.
4/28/2011 9:59:58 AM
Who is Jessica A in relation to this case?
4/28/2011 10:03:34 AM

4/28/2011 10:07:06 AM
Ugh. Feel like I'm still missing a piece of info on the ducks. So basically the prosecution calls JA to the stand to testify about missing ducks, which they use to speculate that a struggle had taken place in the foyer. They later find the ducks in JA's office. Doesn't that seem a little suspect. Ie JA was hiding the ducks so they could toss another theory over the fence.
4/28/2011 10:13:19 AM
Was it found in JA's office? I thought it was in an attorney's office.
4/28/2011 10:14:46 AM
I, too, thought they were found in an attorney's office.
4/28/2011 10:16:06 AM
4/28/2011 10:17:43 AM
"These aren't the ducks you're looking for"
4/28/2011 10:17:51 AM
Ok, so they were found in an attorney's office. I assume it wasn't a prosecuting attorney.
4/28/2011 10:18:19 AM
wral needs to turn the volume up
4/28/2011 10:19:22 AM
sorry, they were found in the attorney's office. I misquoted earlier.

ha, they let the detectives offer conjecture and now the defense can't even answer it
4/28/2011 10:28:04 AM

This pisses me off.I don't think Brad did it....so if and when he's found not guilty and released, WTF is the State gonna do for him? Its so not fair that they can put dude in jail with a bail so fucking high and then lose their case and be done with him.I know he can sue, but in that case he should be able to get something to start over with ya know? Will he have to go straight back to Canadia because they kept him in jail where he couldn't reapply for a visa because the state fucked shit up?UGH
4/28/2011 10:40:08 AM
To me this thing could be like a movie to me
4/28/2011 10:42:03 AM
(ghost)write a book, maybe movie rights or something?
4/28/2011 10:42:18 AM
we could do some good and start a brad cooper donation fund.
4/28/2011 10:44:22 AM
mmm naked juice
4/28/2011 10:46:53 AM
What will happen to Brad?Well, if found not guilty, he will write a book. If found guilty, he will probably end up on a dateline special. Either way, I wouldn't be surprised to see a wrongful death suit brought against him.
4/28/2011 10:50:10 AM
i'll volunteer to put together some GIS maps for the defense, this google map shit doesn't work. throw up a couple polylines, there are probably shapefiles for the trails available from the city. i'm sure they've been surveyed at some point.
4/28/2011 10:57:27 AM
I just hope that once acquitted, he'll be able to get custody of his child or children and be able to move back to Canada.
4/28/2011 10:59:47 AM
god damn, someone can't do math here
4/28/2011 11:03:40 AM
Very clever Mr. Kurtz! Drop some knowledge on the jurors and then suggest a break to the judge.[Edited on April 28, 2011 at 11:07 AM. Reason : Now the jurors are all in the bathroom talking about how NC could have actually gone jogging]
4/28/2011 11:06:36 AM
probably asked for a break because his witness was getting flustered figuring out what time it was 16 minutes after 6:55
4/28/2011 11:07:42 AM
Pretty sure it was done intentionally so the jurors could process this testimony.

so what is this guy testifying to....the timing of nancy's run that morning?
4/28/2011 11:33:47 AM
Oh snap, necklace lie EXPOSED
4/28/2011 11:34:02 AM
do you think that was intentional at all? perhaps the defense filed for a continuance long enough to get that statute to pass?
4/28/2011 11:34:22 AM
^ I don't think so.Haha Nancy is one of those people I can't stand at the self checkout taking their sweet ass time
4/28/2011 11:36:24 AM
Ok I just got back from a meeting.Tell me about this necklace lie
4/28/2011 11:41:36 AM
I like this guy's (over) pronunciation of "contra." Get him to say "burrito" so I can reminisce about that one Jimmy Smits Saturday Night Live skit.
4/28/2011 11:42:54 AM
The State's witnesses all paraded up there and said "Nancy would never have taken that necklace off. Ever. Not even to sleep or swim or run." And BAM, day before she went missing, Nancy, no necklace, shopping at the Harris Teeter.
