I've never been more proud than having a guy who decommitted from Navy to go to NC State being called a steal for the Pack.

in some ways, yes, but not always. UNC has NFL talent every year and they have yet to sniff a division title, or hell, beat us. Wilson was a 2 star. I dont' know what Rivers was rated, but we were like the only ones that wanted him to play QB and we all know how his career turned out.It would be nice to have the 4/5's looking and signing for the exposure though.

This class looked like it was going to be awful about 2 months ago and it's turning out pretty well. Obviously having Florida State or Texas' recruits would be great but given what we were looking at I'm pretty happy with how this class ended up[Edited on February 2, 2011 at 10:08 AM. Reason : ]

A lot of times the 4 and 5 stars come in thinking they are great and don't put in the effort not realizing that they aren't playing high school kids anymore. Those who are 2 and 3 may have a drive to do better, perhaps they have more upside because their coaching in high school wasn't great, or perhaps they weren't playing against the best competition so that works against them. The best teams are ones who are able to spot the right guys for their system and to work as a team.

Solid across the board, see the depth chart near the top:http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=178&f=2515&t=6797451&p=28(that doesn't include Peek, and its not showing who has or hasn't signed a LOI yet)

i dont typically follow recruiting, but im watching this on ESPNU and it looked like it ranked the NCSU class last in the ACC
2/2/2011 10:55:38 AM
That's what you would expect.
2/2/2011 10:57:38 AM
media bias.
2/2/2011 11:01:11 AM
Chris Jones apparently had a drug charge that wasn't disclosed previously. Once we found out about it, we rescinded his offer.
2/2/2011 11:02:24 AM
This type of stuff is all good until we have another down year on the field. Then the haters will point to recruiting as exhibit A.
2/2/2011 11:03:20 AM
Juston Burris has signed
2/2/2011 11:10:41 AM
We had some big, big misses in this class. People like Underwood, Anthony, Ellerbe, Ragland, Councell, etc. For some reason they just weren't interested this year.My thoughts? A lot of it stemmed from having a crappy year last year and uncertainty of if O'Brien would still be around.2012 should be a good year as we had a good year on the field and have stability. Hopefully we hire a good coach and recruiter at the RB slot.

2/2/2011 11:29:04 AM
Anthony just committed to Clemson. His high school uniforms looks just like Clemson too. I always had a feeling that he would end up going there.
2/2/2011 11:49:03 AM
Clemson is on fire. Really impressive.
2/2/2011 11:49:48 AM
Unreal how these guys commit to a coach that shouldn't have a job....I guess it's the stadium/tradition/fans they are attracted to because they really haven't been a stellar ACC team in recent years.
2/2/2011 11:52:35 AM
UNC might be getting the number one player in the country

just wondering, but how does a kicker that makes 13/17 in his high school career become the #3 kicker in the nation
2/2/2011 12:43:14 PM
I am really excited about Sade
2/2/2011 12:47:38 PM
^^ scouting camps... they have them a lot for special teams players
2/2/2011 12:48:14 PM
2/2/2011 12:52:13 PM
Also, have you seen his kicking chart (I haven't)? It's possible he was trying them from 50+ yards. There is a lot more than kicking percentage to defining who is the best kicker.I mean if a guy has a Janikowski leg but shanks one extra point is he a bad kicker?
2/2/2011 12:52:57 PM
They might be getting Clowney too
2/2/2011 12:54:46 PM
^That would be crazy and I would hope would signal red flags. Especially since last I read he canceled his scheduled OV there in favor of a trip to LSU.
