Yup. But hey, the coastal plain will get snow. So the mountains and foothills and the coastal plain gets snow. Piedmont gets shit

gross. fuck this shit.
1/1/2018 7:43:04 PM
NWS just revised their forecast, shifted NW a little so now all of wake county and some parts of durham county may receive a dusting of snowi'm worried about the afternoon timing, hopefully it's not another clusterfuck like we had 10ish years ago when a small snow shutdown the city
1/2/2018 9:21:11 AM
It's weird how all the short range models are showing significant snow for NC and all the global models are trying to keep it bone dry. Such polar opposites
1/2/2018 9:24:29 AM
It really could end up being a disaster since its been so cold. It's the worst when schools get out mid-day and the roads turn in to a complete cluster once any snow hits them.
1/2/2018 9:41:53 AM
I've seen some monster snow totals east of I95 being thrown around. I fully expect the models to shift back East as the day progresses now that local media is mentioning a chance of snow.
1/2/2018 9:51:35 AM
Fuck! this could be bad with these temps.
1/2/2018 9:58:17 AM
Your roads will be fine.
1/2/2018 10:31:42 AM
not if we get any precipitation when schools are letting out or during rush hour
1/2/2018 10:36:29 AM

1/2/2018 11:22:21 AM
looks like both 12z GFS and NAM both have it trending westward some
1/2/2018 11:26:02 AM
i wonder if the usually trend of winter weather actual conditions matching the forecast for ~30 miles SE still applies to storms that are only supposed to impact areas to the SE
1/2/2018 11:45:20 AM
Switch it to 30miles NW?
1/2/2018 11:46:12 AM
I'm liking our odds, seems like global models are shifting towards the short range ones. I'd love like 2-4 inches
1/2/2018 12:12:37 PM
^where you!?
1/2/2018 12:16:41 PM
In Raleigh, I won't be surprised when we get nothing. But if we do get snow I think we get more than a dusting
1/2/2018 12:24:06 PM
I'm up in Oxford so we will either get a dusting or 10 inches haha
1/2/2018 12:24:51 PM
Looks like wral is now giving us up to an inch, I think that's conservative. But we will see
1/2/2018 12:27:47 PM
It’s so cold that anything that hits the ground will make the roads a mess.
1/2/2018 12:31:43 PM
1/2/2018 1:18:37 PM
so for our area it looks like this wouldn't start till the evening?
1/2/2018 2:09:50 PM
^yeah it looks like around 7ish.
1/2/2018 2:13:52 PM
Most promising prediction yet
1/2/2018 2:27:32 PM
EEEK! in Allan we trust.
1/2/2018 2:54:47 PM
1/2/2018 2:58:51 PM
Sounds like NAM heading back East a bit?
1/2/2018 3:05:12 PM
i'm expecting a light dusting
1/2/2018 3:28:58 PM
Mr Huffman seemed to indicate he was favoring a westward shift if any, but it wouldnt show up until tomorrow AM or later. Either way, expect stuff to start falling around 6 tomorrow
1/2/2018 3:34:01 PM
Sounds like NWS isn't really buying any of these models showing a Western movement, haven't even included Wake in a WSW yet, so I'd be a little apprehensive to buy into any of them. If the NWS moves us into a WSW, I'll probably be a little more intrigued, but I've seen models showing nothing to 8", so I tend to lean towards nothing to a dusting.
1/2/2018 4:00:23 PM
Yes it does look like NAM shifted back east. I bet we have at least a dusting but am not expecting much. No melt/refreeze will be good for the roads if we get minimal accumulation.

"We’re confident in a mostly snow event; no icing expected."1/19/05
1/2/2018 5:35:27 PM
you people will never learn
1/2/2018 5:43:05 PM
^^haha I remember that, I was sick at home with strep throat and all my friends leaving school got stuck in gridlock, a friend stayed at a gas station the night and another at a bojangles, crazy. Essentially if you had to cross a bridge to get home you were fucked.[Edited on January 2, 2018 at 5:44 PM. Reason : woop]
1/2/2018 5:44:21 PM
Raleigh Weather Dome 2018 to be in full effect, no snow will fall here.
1/2/2018 9:22:40 PM
0z NAM moved further west, but the gradient between a good bit of snow to 0 snow is sharp and right on the western border of Wake county.
1/2/2018 9:29:57 PM
so consensus seems to be maybe a dusting for our area
1/3/2018 8:17:46 AM
well that's helpful[Edited on January 3, 2018 at 8:54 AM. Reason : :/]
1/3/2018 8:53:47 AM
Lemme see the latest version of the A/B/C zone map
1/3/2018 9:00:25 AM
So this could go bad or go good.
1/3/2018 9:05:35 AM
Your roads are fine.
1/3/2018 9:07:41 AM
^^^ he hasn't put another one out yet.
1/3/2018 9:08:37 AM
RaleighWX has a poor record for accuracy, i'd follow the NWS
1/3/2018 9:13:38 AM
Now that we're under a WSA and Wake County schools are releasing early, we're definitely getting nothing.
1/3/2018 9:20:39 AM
Very dry at 700-850 mb
1/3/2018 9:24:05 AM
Yeah models starting to show us either getting dry-slotted or missing entire event as it goes more East.
1/3/2018 9:41:44 AM
seriously, who didnt see this coming
1/3/2018 10:05:39 AM
your boy's updated alphabet map is up
