Not to mention, a game against a good power 5 team that's NOT shuffling a coach out and treating it like a scrimmage, on national TV, unopposed by other games, that's another big showcase. It only helps seeing your team play established names like Oregon instead of never-weres like Vandy or Kentucky. It shows you're in their class, that you are competing with the Louisvilles and FSUs behind Clemson, not just staying ahead of Syracuse and BC.
11/28/2017 12:46:56 PM
See ya!

11/28/2017 3:16:22 PM
The day Phillip Rivers retires from the NFL I'm sure he'll get hired as something here.
11/28/2017 3:23:20 PM
ncsu police will hire him to destroy underage drinkers with his laser eyes
11/28/2017 3:46:00 PM
I wonder why no one responded when i talked about this 2 days ago. Living in the future sucks.
11/28/2017 3:49:20 PM

11/28/2017 4:03:34 PM
^^Did that guy from the Arctic tundra just refer to NCSU as a hell hole?
11/28/2017 4:12:42 PM
LOL [Edited on November 28, 2017 at 5:15 PM. Reason : I'd hate to come to Raleigh over Lovely Lincoln, NE]
11/28/2017 5:15:39 PM
that is downtown raleigh if you take away 3 buildings dd will never set foot in. they werent even talking about the city though. im sure they were talking about the school. Nebraska is college football royalty.
11/28/2017 6:15:17 PM
Nebraska used to be college football royalty. Used to be. I’m not saying State is better than Nebraska. But Nebraska ain’t royalty.
11/28/2017 6:19:35 PM
Doeren is only 37?? No fucking way. Edit: he's 45[Edited on November 28, 2017 at 6:44 PM. Reason : He's not 37 and not "coaching in area"]
11/28/2017 6:41:57 PM
I assume that they meant he has already coached in the arena previously - was on staff at Kansas a ways back.
11/28/2017 7:15:18 PM
They're talking about Matt Campbell, not Dave Doeren
11/28/2017 9:56:41 PM
Gunday stays, Brohm never considers it and Dave actually takes this UT gig and fails miserably.I'm callin my shot.It will happen.I'll be able to bttt this thread in 5 years. or more.[Edited on November 28, 2017 at 10:45 PM. Reason : unless he gets wisc. or kansas job.]
11/28/2017 10:31:24 PM
Didn't Doeren say he took this job to go fly fishing near Asheville?I think this may be his dream job. I mean, if he fails, he can still take a job at Western or App or Mars Hill and be made for life.
11/29/2017 8:38:41 AM
^Knoxville is just as close to Asheville if not closer
11/29/2017 9:53:13 AM
Exit clause for any nc state coaching contract should require him to read his credibility watch thread at a press conference.
11/29/2017 10:40:00 AM
^^ no shit, I'm just saying there's no reason for him to fear failure at TN.
11/29/2017 10:46:19 AM
By "this" i thought you were referring to NCSU. I really screwed up and apologize for that.

11/29/2017 1:17:48 PM

11/29/2017 1:19:23 PM
yep. fuck this herb
11/29/2017 1:22:19 PM
In 2025, Dave Doeren will be coaching UT-Martin with assistant coach Jaylen Samuels.
11/29/2017 1:30:48 PM
Rumors circling that Tennessee has hired Purdue's coach (Jeff Brohm).
11/29/2017 1:58:06 PM
5 mil to keep him here to win 7-8 games, now. Good job everyone. What a load.
11/29/2017 2:00:48 PM
lol he should have taken what was on the table at 6-1
11/29/2017 2:00:59 PM
who is going to offer him 5 mil besides Tennessee?https://www.rockytoptalk.com/2017/11/29/16715624/college-football-tennessee-will-hire-jeff-brohm-as-next-head-coach-purdue[Edited on November 29, 2017 at 2:03 PM. Reason : link]
11/29/2017 2:02:41 PM
^Sounds like that got shot down quickly. That one dude on twitter that is the main insider for UT's 247 site is just awful, constantly wrong. Saying now that negotiations haven't even started but just opening discussions about the position. Sounds like Brohm is interested but they still have a long way to go before coming to an agreement on compensation and such.
11/29/2017 2:03:30 PM
Either us, or everyone is going to hate him because he's playing us for money he doesn't deserve right now.
11/29/2017 2:03:46 PM
Jimmy Hyams@JimmyHyamsTennessee will soon announce the hiring of Purdue coach Jeff Brohm after going 6-6 this year. Brohm was 30-10 at Western Kentucky. Buyout is $5 million, drops to $4 million Dec 5. Still owes Purdue about $750k for leaving WKY.
11/29/2017 2:04:11 PM
apparently that’s not the case. it obviously could end up being the case, but it’s not a done deal.
11/29/2017 2:05:12 PM
11/29/2017 2:05:58 PM
11/29/2017 2:06:37 PM
Someone on Twitter flight tracked a flight from Purdue's local airport to RDU. They coming for Doeren!!
11/29/2017 2:07:02 PM
lol
11/29/2017 2:07:19 PM
^4 I doubt Yow would do that^3 what issue do you have with that statement? it’s obvious that he’s attempting to play us for more money [Edited on November 29, 2017 at 2:09 PM. Reason : .]
11/29/2017 2:07:27 PM
He seems like more of a B1G guy.
11/29/2017 2:09:11 PM
11/29/2017 2:22:51 PM
Why would you hire Purdue's coach? Why would you leave NC State for Purdue?
11/29/2017 2:28:52 PM
Supposedly talking to Tennessee. I say just make drink the head coach and try to keep the staff intact for recruiting and let the new AD make a hire if it doesn't work out.
