I'd take Dino Gaudio over Purnell. If we're gonna lose in the first round we might as well do it in style.

Dude all you're doing is saying all the points of my argument are stupid. To re-iterate, my points all along:Marshall has improved programs every years he's been at them.Multiple NCAA appearances, one win. But he was 14+ seeded at the time. I argue that it's harder to win seeded that low. I argue that you have to take that into context when you judge his tourney appearance.MUCH longer track record than Shaka.Shaka has gotten hot, other than that he's done jack shit.Past performance does not dictate future results.Marshall's history indicates he could get us back to respectability better than Shaka. Those are my points, which I've re-iterated over and over again. Some people find them good points, some don't.Your response is just variations of "OMG THAT'S THE DUMBEST SHIT I'VE EVER HEARD"
4/1/2011 12:05:38 AM
But seriously that is the dumbest shit I've ever heard
4/1/2011 12:06:24 AM
Yes but WHY. That's where you fail...
4/1/2011 12:06:45 AM
I've responded to each of those points already. Most of them I've responded to multiple times.Get your fucking shinebox.
4/1/2011 12:08:15 AM
4/1/2011 12:09:10 AM
OK, and I disagree with your responses. It is what it is.ISN'T THE FREE EXCHANGE OF IDEAS GREAT?I disagree with you but I don't think you're an idiot, wish you had the courtesy the argue the same way. Maybe you can work on that.

The kind of people who like Marshall are the kind of people who invest their money in CDs. No risk of losing, but no risk of making any big money with it. They are just complete losers who have an inability to weigh risk and reward. In fact, this is even worse that someone who takes on too much risk because there is zero chance you will just get lucky and hit the jackpot. If your goal is to win the fucking national championship, you either pay a lot of money and get a low risk A-lister or you can get a high-risk B lister. There are no other options. You either pay in upfront price or pay in risk. If you aren't paying either of those costs, you aren't getting a national championship coach. It's the same as any financial investment. If a B-lister is low risk, that means he does not have the potential to win a national championship. If he did, he wouldn't be a B-lister. Marshall is a low risk B-lister who gives us zero chance of winning a national championship. He is sendek, hamilton, purnell, etc. All are decent coaches who will improve a team, but they will never ever field a team that has a shot at winning the title.Making that kind of hire is not the purpose of this search. History shows that at Marshall's point in his career, the vast majority of national championship coaches had already made deep runs in the tourney. That's overachievement on a big scale. Marshall's overachievements happen on a small scale.Getting excited about Marshall is like getting excited about 2% interest.

you're either gonna take a risk and give yourself a chance to be great, or you're gonna play it safe and just be okay.you can't be scared to take chances if you're ever going to amount to anything.

I think State should hire this xienze guy as head coach. He can induce headaches in the opposing coach/team with his mind-numbing irrationality.
