He said some nonsense about us challenging their "integrity" by wanting it looked into. Did a big song-and-dance about how they had a shortage on towels "for some reason" and they were trying to order more on Amazon. He was trying to make a joke of the whole thing to mock us.

Dabo can eat it, there is clear proof of a laptop on their sidelines so of course our coach wants to know why they had it over there since it's a direct violation of the rules. I'm sure what Doeren wanted to say in the presser was "fuck those refs".

I thought it was FSU this year but... well FSU would be up to 5 wins this season if they played LA-Monroe.

fwiw, record shouldn't be your metric for measuring how good teams are. the teams that come up on your "wins oveer teams with 9 or more wins" list should explain the reasoning behind that being a poor metric.

Everything falls on the coach. Getting us in the position to win falls on the coach too. You can't just pick some things to fall on the coach. Being 7-4 and 2nd in the division falls on the coach. I like where we are. Getting us in position to beat everyone in the ACC is all i could reasonably ask for. The rest is just luck and freak accidents.

any coach who meets most of your expectations will be paoched immediately by a major program. we are 2 or 3 plays away from making you guys happy AND being hired by some program like Florida, Tennessee or Nebraska. I would like to win the tough games but I don't expect it. I just expect to be in them with a chance to win and ND getting out of hand was the only game irked me this year.

I think the best move would be to fire the fans and let them take their elite expectations to an elite school.

At the end of the day it just comes down to talent. Better programs, if a guy like Hines gets injured, they have a similar player backing him up. We have Gallaspy who looks like he's running in knee high water. Realistically, NC State will never be the kind of program with NFL players sitting on the bench. Sure, Doeren is kind of an idiot relative to other FBS coaches, but overall I just don't see us doing much better in a head coach. I say give him a raise and extension as long as we don't shit the bed next week.

to be fair, nichols was surprisingly decent for a deep back up and he would get more snaps as a speed option with hines out

the problem with these coaches isnt the players. they dont recruit fantastically or anything, but seem to have decent selection for the level of recruit they get and build them up just fine. it's the game management that always seems to fail. some teams always seem to have the luck and some teams dont. occasionally that really is luck, but often it's more than that. theres a reason russ pulls so much shit out of his ass and theres a reason this coaching staff doesnt

I'd take a ACC Champs season even if it meant losing our staff over endless 7 win seasons because 7 win seasons are all we have ever fucking had.

"Don't be too good because you'll lose the coach" is the stupidest fucking thing ever. Like you'll never find another 7 win mediocre coach.

Oh wait, we're a 7 win, occasional 8 mediocre team anyway and wanting more than that makes you a "unreasonable fan." We should have a parade for being in "playoff competion" at mid season. FACT.
