whoops...looks like BigEgo might be stuck with that aria a little longerhttp://phandroid.com/2011/01/26/is-a-power-bug-hampering-the-launch-of-the-motorola-droid-bionic-and-atrix-4g/
1/26/2011 1:11:20 PM
better not be. i <3 this aria, but the battery drains SO quickly with the screen on. stock on my backflip I could leave the screen on for ~6 hours straight without it dieing. with the last ROM I was running it was probably closer to 8. I think I can get 4-4.5 hours out of the aria, but it could probably last 3 days if I didn't really use the screen.

looks like the Thunderbolt may have simultaneous voice and data over 3G but "may not be consistent with their brand" so it won't be heavily marketed as such. http://www.droid-life.com/2011/01/26/htc-thunderbolt-can-handle-data-and-voice-over-3g/]

We just released the BH Photo app for android, download and give it a spin. Feedback appreciated.

1/26/2011 7:27:37 PM
epic with 2.2I tried to use the sprint hotspot app the other day and it says this app is not installed on your phone. I think it may have been messed up when i updated to 2.2 Does anyone know where I can dl that or how to get it back on my phone??
1/26/2011 8:11:51 PM
^ unless you have the plan that allows you to use it, it normally doesnt work.

Can anyone comment on either this app, or any other wireless tethering apps for a D2G?http://www.freeware4android.net/motorola-droid-2-global-device-1705/wireless-tether-download-12918.html
1/27/2011 8:47:15 AM
Wireless Tether is good.I've also used Barnacle Wifi.

Countdown until the whole front face is 100% screen coverage
1/27/2011 9:27:32 AM
^^Nice looking. Not a huge fan of the back of the device, but could live with it. Have gotten used to the bump on the X, anyway.

is there a [good] torrent client for android?also has anyone's facebook been nagging them to log in all the time, even when you're not using the application? ill be using the browser or something and facebook will take over the screen talking about how i need to enter my password...used to be it would never log me out at all
1/27/2011 12:14:51 PM
Apparently cm7s auto brightness is fucked because my battery isn't draining like mad after I took it off
1/27/2011 12:30:45 PM
autobrightness is wonky in general. I usually just keep it on minimum brightness unless I'm outside and then I have a widget on the home screen to turn the brightness up

looks like the Atrix 4G will be $150 at Costco and Amazon http://www.androidcentral.com/costco-sets-motorola-atrix-4g-150

good lordmight be time to kick the droid 1 to the curb
1/28/2011 6:33:26 PM
^^^that actually makes me want to forget all of the bullshit issues I've had with my DX & give Motorola another try (if/when it comes to Verizon). Have the prices on the laptop dock leaked yet?
1/28/2011 7:49:03 PM
Believe ~$150 is the speculated price for the docks. Nothing has been mentioned on if anything similar will be offered for the Bionic on Verizon but it only has half the RAM as the Atrix so I'd be surprised if it did.
1/28/2011 7:59:32 PM
still not clear on the advantages of that over a netbook
1/28/2011 8:15:14 PM
for one it's cheaper to get it than a phone and a netbook. then it's easier to work on things on the go if you can work on it on your phone and seamlessly to the laptop or whatever they call it.
1/28/2011 8:41:32 PM
this D2G is pretty sweetI'm using Google Apps Migration for MS Outlook to transfer my contacts and calendarWonder how long it would take to transfer all my emails on the exchange server? Probably forever...I have a little over 45,000 of them dating back to Aug/05
1/28/2011 9:28:32 PM
1/28/2011 9:36:39 PM
decent netbooks are like 300-400.i'm also 90% sure that within a month someone will port openoffice to it. in the mean time google apps can view and edit both of those documents]
1/28/2011 9:37:51 PM
i downloaded a few different tether programs but it looks like all of them require the phone to be rootedon the bright side, i've already downloaded 2 different Arnold soundboard apps
1/29/2011 12:18:09 AM
Played with the honeycomb sdk/emulator today. Suuuper slow and crashed frequently but looks very promising. Browser is awesome. Excited to see some dedicated apps and widgets
1/29/2011 12:20:53 AM
how long should a system update take? i've had the red droid animated screen up for like 15 minutes after the restartnot the OS which is 2.2, but the system software or whatever, which is some upgrade from like 2.3.xx.xx to 2.3.xx.xx+1]
1/29/2011 1:01:10 AM
so is samsung giving up on froyo for galaxyS phones? and not even going to try for gingerbread? the update was supposed to come in october, and it is almost February and still nothing...
1/29/2011 10:34:09 AM
can any of you android users tell me if you have FULL exchange integration? on my current windows mobile device, i can look up the email, phone number, address, etc of anyone in the company's active directory. this is pretty important for me. is there a feature like "search company directory" on android?
1/29/2011 1:00:58 PM
Sprint claimed they were still working on it a couple weeks ago. Tmobile is the only one that has made it available so far.

VBA support?
1/29/2011 4:31:44 PM
I z4rooted my D2G and I'm currently used Wireless Tether to post this. I also ran a speedtest.net test of the connection and got 296ms, 1.3 megabit download and about 0.32 megabit uploadi'll take it
1/29/2011 6:37:22 PM
anyone with a DX & 2.3.340 - what 1-touch root are you using? z4root isn't working anymore (for me)
1/29/2011 9:19:59 PM
z4root worked for me, so i dunno
1/29/2011 10:03:09 PM
1/29/2011 10:39:07 PM
yeah, it's a shame that Samsung can't seem to figure out how to get phones updated in the US since all of the other countries have had Froyo for a while now. They make the best hardware but their software support is crap.

dunno about an X, but on my Global:- download z4root- install z4root- reboot- run z4rootif you don't reboot between installing and running the program, it seems to hang on the spinning circle screen...i think because SuperUser needs to get the most recent update before it will rooti did it on two different Globals earlier and it worked fine...version 1.3 of z4root http://handheld.softpedia.com/progDownload/z4root-Download-110178.html[Edited on January 30, 2011 at 12:48 AM.
