I thought to be eligible you had to be 19 years old AND 1 year removed from high school? He is not 1 year removed from high school so I don't understand how they could get away with making an exception for him, unless the rule is changed.
4/14/2009 7:17:17 PM
APRIL FOOLS, BITCH!
4/14/2009 7:20:15 PM
if one of the things i've heard might happen actually happens, wall will be in red and white next year. as to whether or not we would go for it, that's another story.there's also a transfer story that doesn't have an ending yet.^^If he didn't graduate from high school this year, he could enter the draft. If he does, there's still a chance that he could exploit a loophole in the rules, but I don't think he'll go that route. That idea has everything to do with him being a 5th year senior.]
4/14/2009 7:24:03 PM
^Dwon coming in to be our new DBO?
4/14/2009 7:30:26 PM
^^ Larry Drew transferring possibly?Come on just give us a WINK or a SMILEY, BigBigEgo.[Edited on April 14, 2009 at 7:32 PM. Reason : []

Sid's hiring everyone who has ever known JW to work as assistant coaches. I'm actually ok with this.
4/14/2009 7:32:44 PM
4/14/2009 7:34:00 PM
Larry Drew isn't the transfer story I'm talking about. A month or two ago there was a transfer rumor that still hasn't been resolved, and gravis at packpride doesn't want anything posted about it yet (seeing as the player hasn't asked for his release yet, don't want any tampering violations). i'm not a premium member there, but i respect gravis.
4/14/2009 7:34:29 PM
Yeah. For the NBA thing, it's like he'd have to drop out, and then he could say his original class graduated last year, and he was eligible. It sounds to me like that's a big stretch, since he's already reclassified, and he's been going to school like he was gonna graduate this year for a while now. I mean, to convince a judge and all that.

4/14/2009 7:38:06 PM
so the potential transfer would be a player from NC State?
4/14/2009 7:38:09 PM
^^,^ no
4/14/2009 7:41:30 PM
Only person I would think of leaving would be Degand, but I can't imagine he would transfer again.
4/14/2009 7:43:14 PM
I can only hope with all my heart that Degand transfers.
4/14/2009 7:44:07 PM
There's slim to 0 chance that happens.
4/14/2009 7:46:06 PM
oh sorry, I completely missed the "transfer player is not from State" comment.
4/14/2009 7:50:23 PM
I heard a kid from Charlotte Latin that was previously committed to Wash. St. got his release today. Any way we go after him, since he's a "big"?
4/14/2009 7:52:32 PM
^he's going to follow bennett to UVA
4/14/2009 7:54:20 PM
Pretty sure it's Larry Drew leaving UNC as the rumor. I think I remember hearing something about his parents saying that if Roy is gonna go out recruiting another PG he was gonna leave or something.
4/14/2009 7:54:39 PM
4/14/2009 7:59:28 PM
It's got to be something to that effect considering we have an open spot on the staff now.
4/14/2009 8:00:53 PM
The rumblings of a potential transfer that I heard were of Henry Sims of Georgetown. He was a freshman this year.http://ncstate.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?Sport=2&pr_key=42392http://northcarolinastate.scout.com/a.z?s=178&p=8&c=1&nid=1970123Ht: 6-10Wt: 225PPG: 16.5Schools that recruited him in 2008 (offers in italics)GeorgetownMarylandVirginiaGeorge MasonClemsonFloridaSyracuseLouisvilleBoston CollegeArkansasNorth Carolina State[Edited on April 14, 2009 at 8:05 PM. I don't know why all the cloak and dagger stuff with the potential transfer, its been openly discussed on his school's message board, but I'll play along. The mystery transfer plays for Georgia, averaged 12.6 ppg and 7.4 rebounds, and is a rising sophomore. And his name is Trey Thompkins. Ooops!
4/14/2009 8:17:10 PM
4/14/2009 8:20:54 PM
the player was actually supposed to be from the SECi figured it was thompkins given it surfaced around the time of the GA coach firing but it sounded like the whole deal fizzled out fast (or never really materialized depending on how you interpret it)
4/14/2009 8:23:01 PM
John Wall gave us the wolfpack hand signs at the red/white game. He's never cut us off his list. I'd be ecstatic to have him on the team. There are some rumors that Roy called him to entice him to Kansas and also to not sign with Duke. Seems to make sense, but alas, just rumors.

and that's not even to mention that BigEgo has little to no credibility on the issue.
4/14/2009 8:47:48 PM
the credibility word has been thrown around way too much on this site.
4/14/2009 8:50:15 PM
OhBoyee is the one with the credibility watch thread. Call me out but if he ends up at UNC i'll ask gunzz to ban me for a month.

4/14/2009 9:02:50 PM
^ that's true. i do appreciate the rumors just b/c they're fun if nothing else. what i don't appreciate are the 'uh ohh... no nevermind not gonna say' posts.]
4/14/2009 9:05:49 PM
i'm gonna let you know there is probably good news on the way on the wall front. I can't say what, yet, but i might be able to let you know before it breaks
4/14/2009 9:34:51 PM
goddammit, if theres one thing I need, its more soul crushing hope in regards to John Wall.I've gotten over the fact he isn't coming here like ten times already, only to do the cycle again.
4/14/2009 9:45:36 PM
^^ let's hope you know more than gunzz, then.

Not going to UNC and Duke would be good news to me imo...I have already gotten over the him coming to State feel...
4/14/2009 10:04:01 PM
^ how would you feel if Wall actually came to State then?
4/14/2009 10:18:25 PM
euphoric may be the correct word.... [Edited on April 14, 2009 at 10:22 PM. Reason : ...]

4/14/2009 10:25:22 PM
it's all speculation until he signs on the dotted line
4/14/2009 10:25:51 PM
fool me once shame on you. fool me twice shame on me. i'm done believing!
4/14/2009 10:26:10 PM
i'd say based on recent news to me, our odds have gone from around 3% to around 25-30%

4/14/2009 10:35:24 PM
