YAY!!!100 pages of conjecture!
5/25/2006 8:52:09 PM
100 pages and we still havent figured out what the fuck is going on
5/25/2006 9:10:45 PM
I only read the first few pages.

Ok:-Libby was hired by widmore to give desmond the boat.-Widmore purposely sent desmond to the island.-Widmore construction was responsible for building all of the hatches for the Hanso Corporation.-Penelope used people inside her fathers company to learn all she could about where her father stuffed desmond, including the magnetic containment/discharge system they designed. This is how she knew to have the antarctica station monitoring for EMP.-The others kidnapped jack, kate, and sawyer because they see no other way to hold thier attention long enough to explain to them what is happening, and that they should join together to fight Dharma.-I think the magnetic think was throwing compasses off/messing with satellites, so the island was shielded. This means that the compass heading they gave michael will now be invalid, since it wont be effected by the magnet anymore, he will be back.Just my thoughts. Tear them apart.

Hanzo vs. Others is right on.The whole show is going to come down to the bad feelings between Jack's Dad and Alvar Hanso. Trust me.
5/25/2006 11:00:02 PM
I went back and transcribed that bit of the podcast and here it is:
5/26/2006 12:09:15 AM
Hot damn, somehting just fucking occured to me. The guy who was with Desmond in the hatch is the CIA guy who supervised Sayid and gave him $300 after the Gulf War. Used to be a spook indeed.Fucking crazy.
5/26/2006 12:43:43 AM
[3 pages old]
5/26/2006 12:49:11 AM
the guy in that podcast is obviously lying.
5/26/2006 8:44:06 AM
Yeah I agree, as much thought as it appears these writers put into their show, there's no way they would base something in the show on something like that. The Hanso Corporation is not real, and the executives are not real. Having these things and people from the corporation appear on late night shows are just ploys by the writers to confuse people.
5/26/2006 9:50:44 AM
we're watching Romeo and Juliet...its weird seeing Michael queering it up as Mercutio
5/26/2006 11:56:20 AM
A couple people keep mentioning that Jack's dad is in on it..yet we have no proof yet that he is involved...is this just a blind prediction or am i missing something? Yeah I know we saw him on the island in season 1, but chalked it up to a hallucination by Jack.
5/26/2006 12:04:26 PM
we'll he's obviously a major link between major characters (jack, sawyer, ana lucia)and he seems to be leading them to the islandor so say some
5/26/2006 12:06:40 PM
so now the computer is busted...are they just going to keep turning the key under the floor instead?
5/26/2006 12:08:47 PM
^ are you for cereal?
5/26/2006 12:17:06 PM
hmm...I don't think he is leading them to the island. I thought it was coincidence that all those people were on the plane together... not any kind of systematic process...However, then you have to explain how the "others" know their names. But if they have some sort of contact with the outside world, then they could get the names of the people on the flight from the airlines, news (i'm sure the news has mentioned the missing plane), etc....

Jack's dad's body wasn't in the casket. It was never found.Jack's dad is slowly being revealed to have had a hand in everyone's life, or at least their being on the island."Him" has to be someone we've seen before. And it ain't Henry.
5/26/2006 2:12:34 PM
i haven't watched all of the season 2 episodes yet, but what does jack's dad have against the hanso foundation?
5/26/2006 2:15:19 PM
it wasnt in the casketbecause the airport didnt allow it to be put in therenot because it got out of the coffin and walked off
5/26/2006 2:15:23 PM
do you people not realize that speculating now will only leave you feeling dumped by a significant other later?
5/26/2006 2:19:42 PM
5/26/2006 2:36:49 PM
^^^^nothing that we know of. Yet. This is wild speculation on my part as it seems the others are working against Dharma.^^^He didn't get out of it and walk away. He was never in there. Because he wasn't dead.[Edited on May 26, 2006 at 2:37 PM. Reason : ]
5/26/2006 2:37:06 PM
saw him in the morgue, dead on the table.
5/26/2006 2:47:59 PM
Too easy. Faking it. And before you get all "jack's a doctor and good at everything so he'd know if his dad was faking," remember that Jack's dad is a doctor, too, so he'd know how to do some good faking.I saw the body in the flashback, but until someone shows me a dead jack's dad on the island, Jack's dad is in charge of the others.
5/26/2006 3:01:29 PM
dude, dead jacks dad isnt going to be on the island because the fucking airport wouldnt allow him to fly the corpse back. And did you seriously suggest that because his dad was a doctor that he could somehow fake being dead well?
5/26/2006 3:05:57 PM
He'd know what the tell-tale signs of not being dead would be.
5/26/2006 3:43:29 PM
until i see some evidence that jack's dad has a good reason for faking his own death, i'm going to err on the side of "that's a far-fetched theory".
5/26/2006 3:47:03 PM
How could Jack's dad be the leader of the Others if he's only been on the island as long as the rest of the folks from flight 815? We know he was in Australia right before the plane flew out...and before that, he was in the US w/ Jack. I have a hard time believing he could find time to slip away for covert trips down to BFE South Pacific to meet/organize/lead the Others. It would be a crazy plot twist...but I think it would just be lame and unbelieveable if it were true...
5/26/2006 3:48:04 PM
Well....They could technically make it work/believable if the show is indeed going to be 4-5 seasons long... however... i just don't know. i think it is something much simpler than that...we are overlooking the obvious i believe...
5/26/2006 3:52:42 PM
I was just thinkin about this...but remember in the very 1st episode where Jack and Kate find the pilot in the cockpit and that monster thing takes him, kills him, and leaves him up in that tree? The monster was making all these loud noises and knocking over trees. What happened to that thing? Seems like it made an appearance in season 1, but since then its been gone?
5/26/2006 3:59:27 PM
There was that one appearance where it stared down Eko.
5/26/2006 4:08:37 PM
Locke's dad would be a much easier fit than Jack's dad for the leader of the Others .
5/26/2006 5:29:03 PM
^^^Exactly.
5/26/2006 5:31:46 PM
give up, they make this shit up as they go along.. sure, there might be a basic plot structure for 5 seasons, but i'm sure its a very crude outline
5/26/2006 6:01:28 PM
you know whats funny is that one of the thoeries posted a while ago that some thought was so good it could be a spoiler has been 100 percent verified thus far....so id advise people to not go back and check it out, it will spoil the entire series for youits kinda nice to now that someone actually did crack this nut.....the finale verified it just about 100 percent
5/26/2006 6:06:23 PM
where are you all getting that his dad wasnt allowed on the planeall we saw was them arguing about it, they never implied that jack lost the argument
5/26/2006 7:43:07 PM
5/26/2006 9:30:18 PM
we saw that the "monster" was black smoke, maybe something more. Would this really pull the pilot out of the cockpit in the first episode?
5/26/2006 9:32:47 PM
I remember that theory/spoiler someone posted... but only a couple things from it have been verified so far....a lot of it...has yet to be revealed, but looks like it could be true..
5/26/2006 10:01:27 PM
someone PM me with the page number/link where the spoiler/theory was posted.kplzthx
5/26/2006 10:06:53 PM
the link is on page 83...but it doesn't work anymore
5/26/2006 10:08:27 PM
the good guys thing makes sense if you consider a "others vs. hanso". the others think they're the good guys, they're defending themselves against the onslaught of hanso's n00bs.oh, and sayid (naveen andrews) is in the 1995 movie first knight. lolocaust. and common, it's so obvious that Pen is doing all she can to search for Des. you know, that entire bit of "if you have enough money and resources you can find anyone..."[Edited on May 27, 2006 at 1:26 PM. 5/27/2006 1:22:08 PM
