3/17/2020 12:13:09 PM
LOL is WV the next Switzerland? They were like WV before everyone else took themselves out with war while they took care of the money. Flashforward 50 years and WV is Appalachiakanda

3/17/2020 12:27:35 PM
my cafes are still open with seating even though restaurants can't be. seems like a loophole but i'm working from a beautiful and empty terrace cafe.
3/17/2020 12:28:47 PM
Make sure you tell the staff how great it is that you get to work from "home."
3/17/2020 12:37:34 PM
Your cafes are fine.
3/17/2020 12:39:13 PM
oh i didn't mean i run the cafe. i meant "my" local cafes.

This is what Rush Limbaugh and Trump get us when they kept telling the world that this was no big deal. I fully expect to see our law enforcement resources wasted like this all over the country:https://www.cnn.com/2020/03/17/us/kentucky-refused-quarantine-coronavirus-trnd/index.html

Oh man people are going to freak out now about Amazon
3/17/2020 2:12:22 PM
people are going to freak out about toilet paper and hand sanitizer being in stock more often?
3/17/2020 3:03:45 PM
they have stopped receiving anything except critical items and healthcare related items at their warehousesi doubt anyone will freak out because they aren't changing deliveries to consumers, just what they are receiving to their warehouse
3/17/2020 3:08:27 PM
Right, but once warehouse stocks of said non-critical items are depleted they won't be replenished.
3/17/2020 3:34:26 PM
people who sell stuff through Amazon will be pissed as it will hurt their business a ton. people who shop on Amazon will probably appreciate being able to buy things like toilet paper, soap and hand sanitizer, which they define as "household staples"

trump supporters are just absolutely insaneInside the Pro-Trump Facebook Group Where First Responders Call Coronavirus a HoaxIn a private Facebook group, firefighters and paramedics shared memes and conspiracy theories doubting the pandemic, raising concerns that they aren’t taking precautions to protect themselves and others.https://www.propublica.org/article/facebook-firefighters-corona^where are you seeing that, everything i'm finding is about shipments from vendors, for example:https://www.businessinsider.com/coronavirus-amazon-suspends-all-non-essential-shipments-to-warehouses-2020-3

3/17/2020 5:18:28 PM
had an employee today ask if a company was "libel" if they got sick because of another employee/customer that was there onsite.probably foreign territory for most HR folks so just told him to email me and let them deal with it but just curious what folks think here. I think like anything if you get sick you get sick.
3/17/2020 6:04:57 PM
Seems you'd have a hard time proving the virus was actually contracted at work.
3/17/2020 6:15:48 PM
WFH is insanely difficult with a 6 year old and a 16 month old. I'm very fortunate and thankful however, that I can still get my job done and earn a paycheck throughout all of this.

I have no clue. I went to Lowe's Foods yesterday because we ran out of bread, since we refused to panic-buy. Lowe's had plenty of bread (no TP) and it also had plenty of idiots gathering around their little beer bar, shoulder-to-shoulder.Side note - why people feel the need to congregate at a bar inside a grocery store, even when there is no pandemic around, is beyond me.

3/18/2020 8:36:31 AM
My proposal about 10 days ago to shut everything down for a full month doesn't look quite so far-fetched now. Except we're still doing it a little bit at a time, and it's still mostly optional, so the timeline over which effects will be felt keeps expanding. The proposal was a bit of a joke because I knew it would not be done in the US, but it probably should have been done.
